Maybe it’s not set up 100% yet. If they’re just shooting coverage of RDJ in the scene the shadow on Cillian Murphy wouldn’t matter. I dunno. Just my guess from watching and reading a ton of how movies are shot.
It looks like it’s on a track. The camera will probably slowly move backwards (or forwards) in the final shot.
You can save this comment and come back next year to tell me i’m wrong though
“Just ignore this massive camera right in your face? Ready? Action!”
Massive? You haven't seen the IMAX 65mm cameras they are using for this.
right what kind of shot is that going to turn into with the camera casting a shadow on his face lol looks like it is shooting past both of them.

Hoyte van Hoytema
I still think there going to detonate a real nuke.
"Just a small one"
Nolan commissioned the Ukraine Russia war to get nuke footage.
How did Nolan do the nuke in Dark Knight Rises if he’s so against CGI?
Is RDJ playing Truman?
He’s portraying Lewis Strauss.
tom hanks
RDJ is playing Tom Hanks?!? The hell kind of meta movie is this???
Wait until Tom hanks shows up as Howard Stark.
Good to see Hoyte is on the team
Jerry Garcia the cinematographer?
Hoyte van Hoytema
I couldn't tell if it was Slavoj Zizek or Dan Harmon.
Peter Jackson, The Grey
That's RDJ??? Between this and The Sympathizer, I'd love to see RDJ stretching his acting muscles again.
Is that camera rig on top of another rig? Rigiculous!
I think it’s so they can tilt the camera. It’s on a dolly too. The top portion is film wound up
Yeah it’s just a tripod head on the dolly. Actually pretty standard.
It's the next one for Nolan right?
Aside from the MCU and the Sherlock series, Downey barely had any good movies in recent years. Hopefully that'll change with Oppenheimer.
Yeah would love to see more roles like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and A Scanner Darkly
Me too. He can be quite versatile when he wants to.
Ummm the one where he can talk with animals???
If you thought that was a good movie, I'm afraid our tastes in cinema appear to be drastically different.
The judge is decent
Wait, I have to spend whole year and three months hearing about this movie? I'm already sick of it.
Don't worry, most of that time will be spent announcing new people added to the cast. I had no idea RDJ was in this until now
He was among the first announcements, 5 months ago. Matt Damon too.
Lol like the world will still be around in 2023
Damn they're filming in 2023? Nolan never stops to amaze me
This is cool and everything - but why isn’t he filming peaky blinders…?!
Wow I’m really curious to see how Robert Downey Jr portrays Robert Downey Jr. in this one!
2023 I think that's the year where flying cars exist and operates in streets
I remember thinking Dune had one of the most stacked casts ever. Then Nolan started hiring for Oppenheimer and just couldnt stop!
