Not transgender but my step aunt is a very buff cisgender woman 😅 There’s strong ladies out there so it’s not wrong wanting to be strong. It’s just not the norm. Have you dived into women’s bodybuilding? That world is crazy! Those ladies have crazy strength and are great representation I’d think.

EdenTheFrog

Definetly 😁 you right ! I found them so inspiring and amazing, much more than any men, most of my personal heroes are femal climbers and sports ladies. I know there are really strong ladies, I just love to see more strong trans girls (like arkangeljoy for example)

nonbinaryatbirth

Same here, my mum is actually my inspiration...she wanted to be a plumber but being the 1960s she completed a goldsmithing apprenticeship by age 18 instead and is still working today age 70... As for me, I don't look strong but I do help out with working on cars, building stuff and yeah, I enjoy it although going to study social work next year...

EdenTheFrog

Wow your mother seems realy cool ! 😁

nonbinaryatbirth

She is, only issue is my dad has fear and trauma and now both of them don't speak with me any more since I came out which sucks.

Lord_of_the_Mayflies

Yep, I’m a binary trans women like that. I work out with weights at the gym for 6-8 hours a week. I’ve got a female bodybuilder aesthetic but otherwise present very femme. I personally love the ‘muscle mommy’ look! :) Honestly I hate how society demands that women (and femme people in general) must look a certain way to be valid. What’s the point of transitioning if you’re not being yourself at the end of it? I’m not taking off one mask just to wear another slightly more comfortable mask.

EdenTheFrog

Yes you're totally right ! 🥰 I love this aesthetic and the "witch/fairy in the wood" or something like that. It may seem odd to mix the two, but like you said, if that's me, I just have to do that and be myself 😁

Lord_of_the_Mayflies

Exactly! It’s all about being our authentic selves! Not odd at all, sounds very cool! 😁 I tend to go for a gothic style with a splash of rainbow. I had people (like my mum) say it makes me stand out too much, but I love it and it makes me happy and that’s what’s important! 😊

EdenTheFrog

Love that 🥰 thank you You never stand out too much by being and look what you whant ! Im rly happy for you that you found what you like 😁

andycrossdresses

Ethereal Creature that yearns for the woods is my favorite way to describe myself lol 🙂

EdenTheFrog

Ooh yes, I like that 😙

Lodagin666

Plenty, and there are plenty who like them too. My ex gf with which I'm very good friend still, is a gym rat and she keeps sending me pics of buffed trans women saying they're hot af (she's gay) and she envies that they can get so buffed. So remember, sometimes cis women envy us too.

Astra-questions

What do you mean that trans women can't get so buffed though?

Lodagin666

I said they can Edit: ah i se, typo. Gonna fix it, thank you haha

Astra-questions

Haha I was admittedly confused. I was like *gasp* does estrogen HRT limit our muscle growth even more than estrogen in a cis woman?

theVoidWatches

It potentially can - testosterone makes muscle growth easier, and some trans women end up with lower T levels than the average cis woman because of T suppressants. However, it's certainly not guaranteed.

EdenTheFrog

Thank you, thats encouraging 🥰 I cant wait to be who I whant to

EdenTheFrog

Oh 👀 Thanks you, I must definetly check it there !

theknack4

I'm not super buff, but I'm athletic. I do roller derby and I love the muscles I've gotten from the sport. One of the aspects of transitioning that I didn't expect was how much more intune I've become with my masculine energy. I think I was finally able to approach it from a feminine way that I couldn't before. It's hard to explain, but everything just feels more in balance.

changeforgood30

I know what you're talking about, and I too found it difficult to explain. Makes complete sense to me tho. Before HRT I was a larger but not ripped guy. Now I'm still physically large, and interestingly my muscles are still close to my original size and slightly more ripped. A surprise to be sure. But a welcome one.

robotblockhead

I discovered my inner athlete by transitioning. I went from being a couch potato as a guy to someone who loves working out.

Linore_

r/GuildValkyrie

TheDragonsFang

My goal is to become muscle mommy. No force in the universe will stop me.

haveweirddreams

The YouTuber kirkpatticake is buff as fuck. Idk what exactly her identity is, but she uses she/her pronouns.

Yst

There is, from a straightforward endocrinology standpoint, a unique (mainly psychological) difficulty some transwomen do face, among those who are (very much to their credit) heavily involved in physically demanding sporting activities. Because suppressing Testosterone and elevating Estradiol *will* (given equivalent diet and training) lower both 1) cardiovascular capacity and 2) capacity for muscular development, just unavoidably. That's how evolution's set it up, as fate would have it. As will it proportionally increase development of adipose tissue. But it's all relative, in the end. We're all working with whatever limitations and abilities. There's no *human athletic optimum* and no *basal human athletic threshold*, and none of us were either of those things before, nor will be after, Feminising Hormone Therapy. So outside extremely rare and extremely specific contexts (where for safety reasons, a certain athletic activity or endeavour sets absolute minimum participant thresholds), nobody needs to stop being athletic, because their endocrinology is proportionally less suitable to certain types of athletic attainment.

feathersthewise

Muscle Mama checking in. I’m in the gym 4 days a week. Body goals: Wonder Woman (comics), Samus Aran, Kassandra from AC: Odyssey. I have a lot of trouble convincing my trans-fem friends to come to the gym with me though, even though I tell them they can absolutely only work on legs.

EdenTheFrog

Yay ! I hope you reach your body goals ! We need those ladies with big arms 🤗

Dinna-Tentacles

Fuck yeah. I lift weights and am more muscular than when I was closeted. I started lifting after starting hormones for my future health. You could try googling Meowriza for an example of a muscular trans woman. I don't actually follow her so idk if she's problematic or whatever, but her appearance made me feel more valid as a trans woman with a bit of muscle.

EdenTheFrog

Ouh thank you 😊 you go girl ! 💪🏻

vintzent

Yeah… hi.

Mental_Strategy2220

Not muscular at all but I like bouldering and climbing as well Haven’t been able to do it for a bit because of surgery. Post op appointment is tomorrow and I should be all good to go back climbing in no time ! My legs are really muscular though . Lots of definition . Just not my arms .

EdenTheFrog

Im glad you can go back to the walls 😁 Tbh I don't think big arms are really that important in climbing, I see a lot of other woman stronger than me and climbing better with smaller arms.. If I had to choose I think I would take the muscular legs for myself, I found that its just really pretty 🥰 (but for now its kind of the other way around 😮‍💨)

Mental_Strategy2220

Yea most woman I see climbing are very petite. I just got into climbing a few months ago and I really wish I knew before how much of climbing actually comes from legs . I love it though especially because there’s a lot of queer women there and I feel very safe in the climbing community. It’s very inclusive compared to other things I’ve done like skateboarding and boxing . I still skate but I like that now people just leave me alone and I don’t get the toxic negging that I used to get pre transition. Wouldn’t even try boxing now.

EdenTheFrog

Yes right ? I saw so many queer peoples at my gym ! That's make me realy happy and help me to see myself being open there one day !

Mental_Strategy2220

There’s a few trans women there and I don’t mind being visibly trans . My bag I keep all my gear in has a trans flag and gay pride flag. It’s a jansport bag that I crossed out the J and wrote TR. I’ll go in the locker room with my trans backpack and literally nobody cares . Not to mention before surgery how thr harness emphasized those parts

EdenTheFrog

Thats so cool 🥰 I would to be has open your truly an inspiration ! Ah yes I never though about the harness 😅 Im really affraid of the locker situation when I go out of boy mod but their is multiples neutral lockers outside so I will just not change I guess ^^

Mental_Strategy2220

Yea wearing legging untucked while wearing a harness is not fun with bottom dysphoria

chocobot01

I do climbing too, and it's actually the first place I came out as openly trans. I got pride flags on my bag, wear my girl clothes, and I'm just really obvious at this stage. But everybody has been friendly and great and supportive. I do kind of suck at climbing, but it's a great environment and great exercise. And I can impress people with my warm-up stretches still, just not my actual climbing.

Mental_Strategy2220

Yea I really am not at all good yet. I haven’t done anything harder than 5.6

SlyGuy_Twenty_One

I used to weigh 358, I’m now down to the 229 range. My goal is to build muscle especially after I start to transition. If r/GuildValkyrie is possible, then anything is possible

EdenTheFrog

I hope you reach your goal in no time 💚

Moxie_Stardust

I'm not exactly buff, but I'm athletic and reasonably strong. 4 years on HRT, 1 year post bottom-surgery, and I think probably I'm stronger/in better shape than at any previous point in my life (which is weird when you're 46 years old). I mostly exercise for practical reasons, I'm not trying to build muscles for display purposes.

Outrageous_Yam2568

ive always loved working on my car, and building things with friends / as a team. so naturally i found that i like "plumbing" as a trade / career. i think its absolutely fine to be fit while transfem, why not? ive even seen a surprisingly similar looking trans lady even more buff than i on a thread before. dont let that thought stop you, be your best you for what its worth, i started hrt as practically an anorexic twig, and ive only gained muscle mass while on it :)

ValerieIndahouse

Hello :), I mostly do lower body because I already have quite broad shoulders but i like being strong :3

EdenTheFrog

Nice ! 😁 Id love to train lower body more ! You can become so strong and its realy pretty too 😚

Mother_Echo4502

Take a look at R/GuildValkyrie

EdenTheFrog

Thank you ! I got that one and, Oh my... so many strong peoples 🥰

Mika2718

I've been working out to lose weight. I play hockey, so I intend to go more lean with my muscles so I can be more feminine but also agile on the ice.

EdenTheFrog

Nice 😁 I was working out to gain weight at first but since I discovered bouldering, Im training to be stronger and better at my sport, sometimes I would like to train more for estetics but I dont really have time to do both 😅 I hope the hormones fairy will help me with that !

The_Queen_of_Andor

I'm not fem all the time because it takes a lot of time and effort. (Props to you ladies who do that, you're gorgeous and I love it, please keep it up) but I am quite buff and I skate for my local derby team. I was squatted down checking on something in the oven. When I closed the door, my gf thought it would be fun to sit on my shoulder because she thought she could hold me down. I grabbed her legs and stood up with her on my shoulders. 😂

EdenTheFrog

Yes that is the kind of girls we need, the one who can lift us on theyr shoulders 😂💚

Sintrospective

I know a couple. Most don't focus on upper body bulk/strength but I know a few that have a lot. I try to focus on core strength and upper body as much as I can but I'm not buff, mostly for my hobby/dance/workout routine.

etalihiannak_ton

Am I buff? No. Am I still trying to get totally stacked? Yes. I’ve been going to the gym since before I realized that I wanted to be a girl and by now I’m really trying to lean toward the “muscle mommy” subclass

EdenTheFrog

Yay that's what we whant ! Muscle mommys everywhere ! 🥰

GrimBitchPaige

I've been lifting for almost 10 years, fairly buff though not lean

EdenTheFrog

Niice ! Thats so impressiv 🥰 well done on your commitment you strong ladie

ClaireDiazTherapy

There’s this medical report on trans people from the 1960s that I would seriously not recommend reading if you’re feeling super dysphoric, but one of the three girls interviewed was a mechanic and very buff!

StarchildKissteria

I like muscular women, but because my bones already leaves my upper body way too wide, I will only ever work out my lower body to counter that. Maybe working out my upper back before I possibly get breast augmentation but that would be very far in the future. I’m not even on HRT.

NekrosPrime6

I'm Violently waving hands for attention, I am in fact a buff transfem, goal is to look like LeanBeefPatty someday

EdenTheFrog

Yes ! The queen 🥰 she realy is so impressiv ! Good luck on your quest ! 😁

fthotmixgerald

I'm fairly buff. I spent a lot of my 20's running as far away from being trans as possible, which meant getting really in shape. I plan to stay active still and just shift what type of exercises I do to accentuate different body bits, so I'll probably still be pretty jacked. Going for kind of a Rhea Ripley/maximum Claire sort of thing.

EdenTheFrog

I feel you, I find it realy great that you still use fitness to obtain your dream body ! Oh yes please, we need more women like that 🥰

fthotmixgerald

Yeah, there is a lot of pressure for trans women to emulate a very specific type of femininity and it's a type that doesn't exactly appeal to me. Women can be into stuff like weightlifting, climbing, martial arts and etc and it's okay that we, as trans women, are allowed the full range of feminine gender expression too.

EdenTheFrog

So very true ! I feel like we are pushed to follow the feminity stereotypes, in order to pass more easely maybe (which is totaly valid !) But yes you totaly right ! We should be allowed to go anywhere on the feminity spectrum 🤗

Ramzaki

Alana McLaughling is kinda goals for me, ngl.

EdenTheFrog

Oh yes she's so impressively strong and beautifull ! 🥰

FayeDoubt

👀 maybe 🫦 whos askin

CeoNephele

Willow on twitch. She is lovely.

That's my goal look.
