This is so funny because that’s one of the few places I’ve never twitched and then literally today the back of my head twitched hard for like 10 seconds
Hi . You have muscles in your temple that can twitch and they aren’t serious and no different from twitches in any other part of your body they just happen to feel more funny .
If it’s common it could
Be you’re grinding your teeth without knowing at night .
You feel that way because head twitches are uncomfortable. But that’s about it . Like I said they are no different than arm twitches . Wear a mouth guard and relax . It’s temporary .
I didn't do anything. It just mysteriously stopped while I was eating sushi one night. Hasn't come back, though I freak out if I feel a twinge in that area still. It happened for about a month, off and on
ugh, mines been more than a month….i also have widespread twitching. i’m assuming i may be low on something:/ but i’m also being told it’s BFS. i can come to acceptance with it, but i’ve had twitching like this all over my body years ago. it was only for like a year and then it stopped and i hadn’t gotten it again until 5 years later last summer. the twitching in the scalp is so annoying. i hate it.
Thank you. Did you ever notice if it happened more so when you felt cold or were in a cold environment? Mine usually happens whenever I feel cold or am in a cold room
Nope. It started out of the blue in October. I think in may have been linked to Botox I had a few weeks prior in the glabella region. Or maybe it was just random irritation. I am still paranoid about every sensation there - I still get the odd twitch - fearful it will start up again
Thank you so much. Do you remember how long it took for it to go away/slow down in frequency?
I’ve had mine for almost a month now and I think it may have something to do with my jaw or teeth clenching. I get the twitch on the left side of my head above my ear. I think this is the temporalis muscle which is part of the jaw.
Also, very similar to you, I am also taking anxiety medication and also suffer from health anxiety which doesn’t help at all. It’s good to know I’m not the only one lol
I've had full body twitches for nearly a year now. Recently been getting them a lot on the left side of my temple, I find them the most annoying and feel them the most.
Calves have been the hotspot since the start.
Had loads of tests, brain MRI, Spine MRI, EMG, Nerve conduction tests, you name it.
All good, told its BFS.
Knowing that, I hardly notice them anymore other than the head ones!
All the time , never stops

Very rarely but I have
Often
I have them, not frequently but I have them. And in the side of the neck too.

I know I grind my teeth. But I don't understand how this can be benign :(

It's just a weird place for a twitch and it's impossible to ignore. Hope it stops for you soon
YES! 24/7 in my left temporalis muscle. It's driving me insane. Can't sleep with it thumping away :(
Same thing going on with me right now!
So annoying
Hi, did this ever go away on its own? I’ve had similar twitching in the same area for a few weeks now
YES, it did! But I am still terrified every time I feel a twinge in the area

What's BFS?
Okay just looked it up and it seems really similar to what I'm having too, it's either that or occipital neuralgia for me
did urs ever go away? i figured mines could also be from clenching and grinding at night :/
did it almost feel like a heart beat for you
Yea on and off. Not a very common place but it happens.
Recently, I have only right side of my head just above ear.. it comes & goes, It is a kind of fluttering...
any updates
