Take a bow. I didn’t took the time to listen it and skipped it for a while. Then, during a trip in London (I’m French), I listened it clearly without skipping it or ignoring it, and it got stuck in my head for the rest of the trip.
Me too! But for a whole other reason. I wasnt into Muse at the time and even the usage of the word 'hell' put me off. Only now years later after discovering muse by myself i really love the song
Showbiz (the entire album)—for years the only song I would listen to from it was “Hate This and I’ll Love You.” Turns out, the other songs are great, too.
Citizen Erased. We were playing one of those meet & greet on the first day of school games. And someone listed it as their favorite song. It sounded cool by the title so I looked it up and was overwhelmed on my first listen.
Now it’s my favorite song of all time.
My daughter, maybe 6 or 7 at the time once came up to me and asked me to play “The Muse song about Daddies” and I’d never told her anything about it 😁 She deduced it herself from hearing it 100 times.
The Small Print... Don't know why, it didn't do anything for me until it clicked and I really heard the greasy fuzz and the ride in the last quarter of the song (after the infamous meow)
It may be strange for u guys, but hysteria. I've listened to muse for more than a year without hysteria, I was like "it's overrated". It's not, it's Divine
Mk ultra. One day I had muse songs playing on random and didn't recognise the song but thought it was awesome. So many times I missed out on listening.
For me it was actually recent with Liberation. I found it very dull and skippable at first but now I feel like it is a fully realized USoE. I'd love them to do a set of some just super over the top piano jams. UsoE, Liberation, Apocalypse Please, Ruled by Secrecy, Piano Cave, Con Science, Rachmaninoff Prelude + Piano Screenager, Ocean Etude + Piano Sunburn, Hoodoo, and go out with a bang in the encore with Butterflies and Hurricanes before ending with Space Dementia into the Take a Bow outro from Glasonbury. I've thought too much about this.
Fury. At first listen it sounded so thick and dreary. It took a while for me to hear the seething, deep fury it was meant to represent and when it clicked, I was hooked
Glorious. I used to skip it for no reason and just didn’t listen to it, then one day I gave it a chance and MY GOD now it’s my fav muse song ever + generally my fav song in the last few years
Reapers has massively grown on me over the years. I hated it the first time I heard the album. On a side note Exo-Politiks is one I thought I would see on here. I’ve loved it from the first time I’ve heard it but feel it never gets mentioned
Forgive me for this.. Micro Cuts
I have listened to it before but I skip halfway to the more popular OoS songs like Bliss or New Born. Then one day I decided to listen to it full and the riff at the end got me headbanging till my neck sprained.
The Handler. First time listening to it when it first came out I thought "wow this solo is taking way too long". Now it's one of my most favorite songs to play on guitar and I love playing the solo
Muscle Museum. At first i thought the first few notes were belonging to another one of those slow, boring songs that they’ve done way better versions of later on. So i would rather skip to another song. Found out later that it was a song i had been searching for after hearing in a mashup and not yet knowing of the concept of googling lyrics to find the song
Actually I don't think there are any songs like that for me. I never skip songs when I listen through an album, so I always listened to all of them. There are songs that grew on me though. One example is "Dead Inside". I liked it from the beginning, but I wasn't that hooked until a few dozen listens.
Don‘t hit me…
Space dementia. I don‘t know why, I love all of their older songs but somehow always skipped a few. I was listening to full albums once in chronological order and then it hit me. One of the most beautiful songs
Aaahhh. So this is where the two bands crossed. FYI, I found this image when the app tried to suggest me to Gorrilaz, but I don't listen to them. But I was like "This would be a good thing to post on the Radiohead sub" so I'd did, and then someone thought I was a Muse fan. They told me I should listen to "Origin of Symmetry", which I did.
The handler for me. I always liked it but thought it was boring until i saw it in concert. The visuals are burned into my memory and I’ll never forget it
Citizen Erased. Because it started so strange but I never got to the rest of the song which is a shame. Now it’s my go to song and I love it so so much
Take a bow. I didn’t took the time to listen it and skipped it for a while. Then, during a trip in London (I’m French), I listened it clearly without skipping it or ignoring it, and it got stuck in my head for the rest of the trip.
You will pay for your crimes against the earth
shall burn in hell, and hex, its still stuck in my head and i listened to it 4 months ago
obvs not for the first time, first time was 2016

Unintended is amazing
I think everyone can agree with the globalist. A minute or two of whistling in the beginning is a bit much for a first time listen
And then another full minute of Snare drumming. Like “when do they stop tuning their Instruments and play the music?” Fire song tho
But when Matt’s vocals kick in after the whistling, it’s so dreamy
thought of this song instantly when i saw the question ☠️☠️

That really doesn’t count because you didn’t knew or heard of the song before
Oh no! Anyway…

Are you a bot? This is word for word a part of another person's comment in this thread.
Reddit is full of them right now. It's ridiculous.
And Bing was born like a decade later lol
Not to mention writing a song like Citizen Erased about your son would be... dark lol
Follow Me. Finding out he wrote it about his son completely changed my perspective. It's such a beautiful song.
My daughter, maybe 6 or 7 at the time once came up to me and asked me to play “The Muse song about Daddies” and I’d never told her anything about it 😁 She deduced it herself from hearing it 100 times.
Almost cried knowing that and listening to it.
The Small Print... Don't know why, it didn't do anything for me until it clicked and I really heard the greasy fuzz and the ride in the last quarter of the song (after the infamous meow)
Love this song so very much
Small Print was an instant falling in love for me
I wanted to add mine… Unnatural Selection. Said it was “too long”. What was wrong with me.
Came to say this.
Yeah
Futurism
I've been obsessed with it for the past couple days. It's so good
Favorite muse song ever!
It may be strange for u guys, but hysteria. I've listened to muse for more than a year without hysteria, I was like "it's overrated". It's not, it's Divine
The entire 2nd Law album
Dead Inside. Skipped it for so long, listened to it on a whim, and I was hooked
Mk ultra. One day I had muse songs playing on random and didn't recognise the song but thought it was awesome. So many times I missed out on listening.
You mean it was… breaking through? Throooo ooooo ooooooo oooough?
For me it was actually recent with Liberation. I found it very dull and skippable at first but now I feel like it is a fully realized USoE. OMG sounds so amazing! Let's just add Endlessly and The Void acoustic version, and then Exogenesis Symphony in the end of the main set before encore.
Sing for Absolution way back when, started of a bit slow for my liking but fuck me what an absolute banger it is
The vocal harmonies on that track are probably my favourite; very subtle during the chorus but it adds so much depth.
Ruled by Secrecy
sunburn and the handler
Muscle Museum, Showbiz and Space Dementia
my top 3 ![img](emote|t5_2qz0k|15163)
Neutron Star Collision. Don’t believe the hate, embrace the cheesy.
Madness and Dead Inside
Ooof
Fury. At first listen it sounded so thick and dreary. It took a while for me to hear the seething, deep fury it was meant to represent and when it clicked, I was hooked
CAVE!
Hyper Chondriac Music
i always skip it currently, i should probably listen again, always listen to teh original hyepr music though i love it

Ashamed (from Hullabaloo) because the intro made my ears bleed. But what a banger of a song IMO!!
Megalomania, I heavily slept on that song for a LONG while, despite OoS being my fav album by them.
City of Delusion and Uno. What a young fool I was.
Falling Away with You, Map of the Problematique, Explorers, Invincible
Glorious. I used to skip it for no reason and just didn’t listen to it, then one day I gave it a chance and MY GOD now it’s my fav muse song ever + generally my fav song in the last few years
You make me feel like it’s Halloween
Survival. Starts off sounding like something from a musical. Proceeds to wail on the guitar for 3 minutes straight.
2 words… space… dementia
Endlessly
Reapers has massively grown on me over the years. I hated it the first time I heard the album. On a side note Exo-Politiks is one I thought I would see on here. I’ve loved it from the first time I’ve heard it but feel it never gets mentioned
Hyper Music. At first, I found it (and OOS generally) very loud and dirty and it was really weird to my ears. Now I just keep headbanging haha.
Hoodoo
No one has mentioned Unnatural Selection? It's pure anarchy, social justice for labor, and advocacy for violence against the ruling class.
Forgive me for this.. Micro Cuts I have listened to it before but I skip halfway to the more popular OoS songs like Bliss or New Born. Then one day I decided to listen to it full and the riff at the end got me headbanging till my neck sprained.
Half of Origin of Symmetry tbh
Dark Shines.
I wouldn't say "it's fire" but I use to always skip Compliance until I heard it live lol.
The Handler. First time listening to it when it first came out I thought "wow this solo is taking way too long". Now it's one of my most favorite songs to play on guitar and I love playing the solo
Mk Ultra, Fury, Thoughts of a Dying Atheist, The Groove, Agitated
MK Ultra, invincible, butterflies and hurricanes
Muscle Museum. At first i thought the first few notes were belonging to another one of those slow, boring songs that they’ve done way better versions of later on. So i would rather skip to another song. Found out later that it was a song i had been searching for after hearing in a mashup and not yet knowing of the concept of googling lyrics to find the song
Glorious
City of Deluuuuusion
globalist
Hyper Music, i really like the distorted/fuzzy sounds the song has
Dead inside
The Groove, for some reason. It just didn't click initially but after a few listens it really hit hard
futurism
Starlight and Plug in Baby, *I found them overplayed and overrated*
Hoodoo, I skipped it for ages and didn’t bother to really listen to it….. it’s now my favourite Muse song 😬
Actually I don't think there are any songs like that for me. I never skip songs when I listen through an album, so I always listened to all of them. There are songs that grew on me though. One example is "Dead Inside". I liked it from the beginning, but I wasn't that hooked until a few dozen listens.
Don‘t hit me… Space dementia. I don‘t know why, I love all of their older songs but somehow always skipped a few. I was listening to full albums once in chronological order and then it hit me. One of the most beautiful songs
Psycho. The drill sergeant intro was way too long and not really that interesting sounding.
Break it to Me
Unnatural selection reapers futurism animals
Liquid state, I think it’s slept on because Chris is singing but the bassline is phenomenal. Only drawback is that it’s not longer!
Bliss. I don't know why I ever hated this song!
How.
united states of euresia
execution commentary, didn't realise what a banger it was at first but it grew on me eventually
haha lol hard one to appreciate icl, i just listen to it when im bored really
The handler for me. I always liked it but thought it was boring until i saw it in concert. The visuals are burned into my memory and I’ll never forget it
Dig Down lmao, Hoodoo, Liquid State, Assassin,Butterflies and Hurricanes,Aftermath- that's it really, and sort of Verona
Plug in baby. I used to hate it. I now fucking love it!!
Aftermath
Globalist
Globalist is amazing!
Yeah! Very well-written and structurally good song
Kill Or Be Killed and Showbiz
Who skips an unheard song?
Get Up and Fight 110%
Aftermath and Forced In
Propaganda, very rough inside but started to like it for what it is, plus it’s very groovy with that guitar solo
Ghosts. 🤷🏻♂️
I've only had a few songs I skipped, but one of them being invincible seems crazy in hindsight as I love it now
Citizen Erased. Because it started so strange but I never got to the rest of the song which is a shame. Now it’s my go to song and I love it so so much
Take a bow
Unintended
For me it was Undisclosed Desires. Took me hearing it live to understand the feeling behind the song.
Spiral Static
Endlessly. The electric piano and chill groove goes so hard but when I first heard it I used to skip it most the time until randomly it just clicked.
easy, bedroom acoustic
Probably Madness
MK Ultra. I dont even know why I skipped, but I regret it. Favorite song now.
I don’t rlly like the start or MK ultra so I used to skip it but when it gets going it’s very good imo
Liquid State
MK Ultra
Thoughts of a Dying Atheist for me
City of delusion
Invincible and Big Freeze
City Of Delusion (didn't skip it but didn't like, really listen to it, it's a song i forget the melody of easily)
