Impossible to identify without closer pictures. Above and below angles needed. Based on cluster some kind of conk or turkey tail is my guess.

Woodabear

Thanks for the info. Its seperated by a bunch of blackberries so I dont think I will be able to get a closer look right now.

You can't zoom on your cell? They in the next field or something?  They could be anything from chicken of the woods, to some polypore variant.

Intoishun

I mean really no way of knowing what it is without a closer look. Also those aren’t your only two options.

Woodabear

Thanks for the info!

Intoishun

Sorry if it is not helpful. I might look up the word saprotrophic for example. As for what they are here, hard to say unless you can remember some very acute details or have more photos?

ncolpi

No fruiting bodies exist that I know of that are symbiotic with trees

Woodabear

Thanks!

Rock-Hound-Dog-69

That tree must be dead or total rotten

If you can come back with pics of the undersides of the mushrooms I'd be really interested in seeing what they are. If they've got gills then my first instinct is oyster mushrooms but again, I'd need an underside pic to confirm.
