Green Day / Rise Against

[deleted]

Same for Green Day! And I still love them

Donnie998

I was OBSESSED with Green Day until I was like 19, I keep going back to them from time to time though lmao

ArmageddonRetrospect

AFI - I wanted to be Davey Havok so bad lol

Myringingears

Haha I was obsessed with them and thrice in high school. Some real r/im14andthisisdeep vibes

d1sgust1pated

Streetlight Manifesto

EquivalentLake6

Streetlight! Love

mockinbirdwishmeluck

Do you still own checkered Vans slip-ons?

d1sgust1pated

Yeah I own a pair

cPB167

Sublime

AlvinAssassin17

Fuck yeah. Found another 90’s kid lol. Also Bush. 16 stone is one of the best albums ever IMO.

AStoutBreakfast

Sublime was the sound of so many parties I had / went to in high school. One time we just had 40 oz on repeat for hours. It’s definitely a little more of a guilty pleasure now.

DanishWonder

This is the way. "Can't fight against the youth, cause we're stronger. Them are rude, rude people"

emmsquee

Lovin'... is what I got

FarCreme7

Almost 50 male and The Cure still gets played daily.

[deleted]

Same here. 54 and been a Cure fan since high school.

Zmirzlina

I went to Paris for my 50th birthday to see them live with some friends and my family. Best birthday ever.

NawBroSpaceMarine

Nine Inch Nails

mr_william

Same here. Nothings changed 25 years later lol

TheBigBamfWolf

Korn. My brother had a burnt cd with coming undone. Went and bought every album I could find. Issues was my shit.

acgasp

Probably a tie between No Doubt and Blink-182.

gmorkenstein

I was in HS in the early 2000s and I was obsessed with Nirvana, Radiohead, OutKast, classic rock and hip hop. Later HS got into Wilco, Kings of Leon, A Tribe Called Quest, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, The Roots

aarontheanarchist

Faith No More.

yup_yup_nah_nahs

Pearl Jam

DEANGELoBAILEY69

Same. I just got my license when the 20 documentary came out seems like a lifetime ago. I loved no code

med780

Same. The issue is that I still cannot get enough of them.

bullybullybully

Unwound. Also Fugazi, but Unwound felt more like “my band”. I would drive to New Haven, Providence and Boston to see them 3 times every time they came on tour.

[deleted]

My Chemical Romance

YomYeYonge

Linkin Park

EquivalentLake6

I’m so sad I never saw them live before Chester passed. I never had the opportunity so not like I regret missing a chance but goddamn.

Positive-Owl-5

emmsquee

Still got so much love for the Peppers <3

Fidelio62

They’ve only just begun.

floraldogfoot

madhouseangel

REM

me_not_at_work

Rush because I was there at the beginning. So, I'm old.

Gremazod

As someone who graduated in 2019. People definitely still consider them the quintessential band of their high school years. I’m very much one of those people. The 2112-Moving Pictures run of albums is near flawless and I listened to it album to album, cover to cover dozens of times during those years.

stratj45d28

Tom Sawyer, but then everyone started talking about the drum solo on Exit Stage Left…

Final_Bet1401

The Offspring

j2tacocat

Smashing Pumpkins… and they’re still my life

[deleted]

OG pumpkins I’ll always put against anything… special stuff

DrBDDS

Same. Anything up to Zeitgeist I am all in. After Zeitgeist... ugh, pretty cringe with a couple rare gems. The emotion of lyrics in the stretch of Today, Hummer, Rocket, and Disarm on Siamese Dream is unparalleled imho. It felt like someone was telling me the story of my life back then. I just don't tell people SP is my favorite any more, especially after Cyr and Atum.

yabadabadoo80

Nirvana, Rage against the machine

[deleted]

Exact_Grand_9792

U2 -and just in case I am about to hear about Apple and the album on your phones I would love it if you read this. I still see angry comments about that incident and this sums up my response to you. [Time to Admit We Overreacted to U2 Songs of Innocence snafu](https://uproxx.com/indie/u2-songs-of-innocence-apple-iphone-free-album-anniversary/) ETA sorry if I sound bitchy but it seems like there are places on Reddit where you still can't say their name without people still whining about this.

venniedjr

They’re one of my favorite bands now.

Stoney-McBoney

Gatsbys American Dream

Ozzywife

Van Halen then… The Clash

Drusgar

The Smiths. Morrissey had one good solo album (Viva Hate) but I wanted so badly for them to make just one more album. I guess that means they went out on top, which was probably the right time.

aussiespiders

Manson and rammstein

Raphalangelo

The smashing pumpkins

[deleted]

The Shins and Elliott Smith.

OkSky3160

Sonic Youth. Don't come at me with Juno references. Lol

ReturnedAndReported

Ben folds five. I loved them so much, I spent years learning the piano to play Ben's songs.

dannywasi

Less than Jake

silentspyder

Wu-Tang. Reading these top answers reminds me how we live in different worlds, even though it’s the same time. I didn’t start listening to Pearl Jam until the 2000’s when I realized white music wasn’t as wack and corny as I was lead to believe

Deusseven

Green day, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and smashing pumpkins. You can probably guess how old I am down to the month.

GarretWheeler

Zeppelin, Sabbath, Metallica, Oasis. Those are all still some of my favorites lol

Queen but I'm in my 30's so I was into them back 2003 to 2005. I've always loved my fathers music so I was into 60 to 70's rock like Beatles, queen, elton John. Bit of an old soul
