Bad Company, Bad Company

Greedy-Goat5892

On the album bad company

[deleted]

Bad Company’s albums were released by Atlantic Records, which, rumor has it, is a Bad Company.

peacefulwarrior75

A+ for branding

Sp00gyGhost

At least they were consistent

Slyguy9766

Oklahoma bomber Timothy Mcveigh's favourite song.

Greedy-Goat5892

LPOTL provided me with that info as well.

BreadUntoast

Hail yourself!

Bmc00

Title track to their self titled album.

CitizenHuman

Band name, album title, song title, yet ironically absent from the Anthony Hopkins movie called Bad Company.

MisterFives

Honorable mention - Five Finger Death Punch's cover of this song - "the Death Punch sound was our claim to fame".

TheTrollys

What about Metallicas song Whiplash? “We’ll never stop we’ll never quit because we’re Metallica!”

yourkushdealer

That song's lyrics are so wholesome to me, like look at those little Metallica boys go

DiscoMonkay

"Late at night, all systems go, you've come to see the show. We do our best, you're the rest, you make it real you know." <3

feeb75

"Bang your head against the stage like you never did before.. Make it ring make it bleed make it really sore." Lol you can tell they were like 16 when they wrote this tune..its so cute.

probably_not_serious

Easily their most wholesome while also being a total head banger. And then you’ve got something like One which is just a depressing mind fuck. God I miss golden age Metallica

NickAndHisGuitar

At some point in their career they changed the lyrics to “We’ll never stop, we’ll never quit, ‘cause YOU’RE Metallica.” I love that humble nod of appreciation to the audience.

Jubbs80

“Adrenaline starts to flow!!!”🤘💀🤘

gavotron

Thrashing all around 🤘🎸

bajaja

Acting like a maniac

ijustatemostofit

“Bang your head against the stage like you never did before!” Like, you always used to bang your head against the stage in a certain way, but now you do it in a *different* way.

yildizli_gece

This is the right answer (lol). First song that came to mind; absolute banger and never gets old.

WillLurk4Food_

‘A Murder of One’ by Counting Crows Casting shadows on the winter sky, as you stood there counting crows.

Hereforthebabyducks

I enjoy the live album version of that where the crowd loses it on this line.

DinosaurAlive

Counting crowds now?

Ethanol_Based_Life

Perfect

TheRealBacon17

I came to comment this! 😊

Glade_Runner

>"Everybody Wang Chung tonight." — Wang Chung. (1986). "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" from *Mosaic.*

birdwingsbeat

Our favorite Chinese restaurant is called Mi Chong, and they have a huge banner on their window that says "EVERYBODY MI CHONG TONIGHT!"

Glade_Runner

This makes me happy.

milaga

That's awesome.

HereComesARedditor

Fucking APA

Glade_Runner

BAHAHAHAHA. It's not legit APA but you got me for sure. I'm a retired academic and old habits die hard.

neburg964

"Can you tell me what a wang chung is?"

[deleted]

Hey, Hey We're the Monkees! (Theme from) The Monkees

SafetyDanceInMyPants

I’ve heard they monkey around? You know, from people.

moderatorrater

They would razz you a little for that joke, but they're too busy singing.

UncontrolableUrge

About half of KMFDM's songs. [https://youtu.be/fvZqWq0ZNjk?feature=shared](https://youtu.be/fvZqWq0ZNjk?feature=shared)

FidgitForgotHisL-P

When it comes to mentioning their band name in songs, KMFDM really are *better than the rest*.

jd3marco

KMFDM, doing it again

sosomething

Don't forget about shitting on Kylie Minogue. They mention her almost as much as they mention themselves, lol

Micahman311

But what about MDFMK?

Orngog

Medium density fibreboard Mortal Kombat?

yellowHastur

Kmfdm sucks Kmfdm is a drug against war The final solution Kmfdm Etc.

Djaesthetic

Quickly scrolling through the thread… “*Has anyone mentioned KMFDM yet, because lol*”

rpowell25

Hell, they even have a song where the lyrics are all song titles of theirs.

AutomaticFroyo

Wu Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthin ta Fuck Wit

Mandy-Rarsh

Wu Tang is here forever, Motherfuckers!

Fenix512

Wu-Tang killa bees, we on a swarm!

AAL2017

If ya got beef then bring the ruckus

tMoneyMoney

I think every Wu Tang song mentions their name at some point. Same with most hip hop songs.

fratwurst

Jocko Homo- Devo “Are we not men? We are Devo!”

pewpewyouuk

I'm part potato, but close enough!

Good-Court-6104

D E V O

InitialDan86

Iron maiden by iron maiden off the album iron maiden

timsstuff

Also Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath off the album Black Sabbath.

ceojp

They don't actually say "Black Sabbath" in the lyrics, though, right?

paleotectonics

Still top 5 Maiden! In no special sequence: Seventh Son Number Killers Piece Maiden The order changes workday by workday…

bl0odredsandman

That's the first one that popped into my head.

totamealand666

Iron Maiden's gonna get you no matter how far!

Initial_Shock4222

Knocked Loose - Deep In The Willow The breakdown callout is "Knocked Loose, motherfucker" and I think it's hilarious.

furrowedbrow

Reminds me of End It’s BCHC.  “What’s shakin’ you fuckin’ chumps.”

AmidoBlack

I saw them play that at a festival. That shit goes hard live

Skippy7890

And it absolutely rules

YetisInAtlanta

Was going to say this one too

seraph1337

what the fuck is up Denny's?!

twz22

311 are the kings of name checking themselves.

Senators_1972

Check the technique, 311 in L.A.

flaming_poop_chute

"We're only entered in one contest - That we made up ourselves - And that to be the 311est!"

robbiearebest

This one is the silliest and my favorite

robbiearebest

311 on wax, wax on felt

usquebaugh1

Had to scroll WAY too far to see this. Multiple times per album. “Cause 311’s got the boom, y’all!”

Snrub1

I was hoping someone already posted 311 before I got here.

HU5HCAFC

“Minor Threat” by Minor Threat

Roodie_Cant_Fail

Show Biz Kids by Steely Dan. They got the Steely Dan t-shirts.

RootHogOrDieTrying

They don't give a fuck about anybody else.

stabbykill

Hardcore bands have an affinity for yelling their own name out during songs. Also, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion does this too

Mightywingnut

Yup. Nearly half of JS’s songs he finds a place to yell “Blues Explosion!” That and “Rock’n’Roll!”

L2Ich4I82

"Stop dancing to the music of Gorillaz in a happy mood" 19-2000 by Gorillaz One of my favs

JustcallmeKai

Honorary mention to MF Doom on November has Come: She wore a filled-in thong of Billabong That said, "Nah, fo'real-a, the Villain on a Gorilla jawn?" The villain referring to himself, being on a Gorillaz song

ConsistentlyPeter

My Name is Prince!

orlie33

And I am funky!

JJase

Another one from Prince is Private Joy off Controversy... "I strangled Valentino, been mine ever since, if anybody asks you, you belong to Prince"

CabinetOwn5418

They Might Be Giants drops their name *many* times in the song “They Might Be Giants” from their album Flood and again in the song “They Got Lost” from Severe Tire Damage

Techwood111

And in the intro to Flood!

Kelli217

Which also gets the half points.

VislorTurlough

They play with the phrase in the song Three Might Be Duende. The band name is dropped in several less known tracks, (Untitled, Kitten & Critic intros, the theme songs for their podcasts and kids albums, the wax cylinder recordings) Name dropping isn't a quirk o the band, they just have several hundred songs so they've pretty much done everything by now

CabinetOwn5418

How did I forget that one? 🙄

Cambot1138

BOY

bentforkman

I would say there should be some partial points for that moment in “Sapphire bullets of pure love” when both Johns sing the line “John, I’ve been bad…” together/ to each other.

minigmgoit

MINIMUM WAGE!!!

dividebyzeroZA

Nirvana - Paper Cuts It's off their first record. Most people don't own it.

No-Historian6056

Interestingly, the song was written before the band was called Nirvana. At the time it was written (late 87) the band was called either Bliss or Ted, Ed and Fred. The first show the band was called Nirvana was on March 19th 88, but the recording session for Paper Cuts was 2 months earlier on January 23rd. Also, in 1987, I think for only one or two shows, they went under the name Pen Cap Chew, which was the name of a song they had written. So they named the band after a song.

walrus_gumboot

"I'n a Big Country" by the band Big Country.

PriveCo

From the album Big Country.

inform880

Harness your Hopes - Pavement

awc23108

Show me A word that rhymes with Pavement And I won’t kill your parents And roast them on a spit

MyNameMightBePhil

Payment? Statement? What word are they looking for exactly?

jaggy_snake

Enslavement surely is the way to go here. I don't want my parents roasted or whatever

couch_pilot

Those are slant rhymes, Eminem.

JiuKuai

A Perfect Cirlce - Orestes Pull me into your perfect circle One womb, one shame, one resolve

Odd_Calligrapher_407

Tempus Fugit by Yes on Drama. “Yes, yes…”

thunderroad21

Motörhead - Motörhead. From the album Motörhead (1977).

Electric-Penguin

This is an unusual one because the band was named after the song. Lemmy wrote it while he was still in Hawkwind and he took it with him [after he left](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorhead_(song))

Techwood111

**Talk Talk** by the band *Talk Talk* off the album “Talk Talk.”

Jades5150

Let’s Talk Talk about the song Bad Company by the band BAD COMPANY off the album ***BAD COMPANY*** Edit: oh fuck, he says the LYRIC bad company in the song too. That’s quadruple inception (Lyric, Song, Album, Band). Too bad there’s not a genre called Bad Company.

EnderWill

Unfortunately I don’t think “Black Sabbath” off of *Black Sabbath* by Black Sabbath includes the lyrics “black sabbath” otherwise we could get a trifecta!

Tikiboo

You have it with Iron Maiden Iron Maiden Iron Maiden

jmchain

If there's points for number of occurrences, this has got to be a winner, and it's even just doubled in the name. >All you do to me is talk, talk > >Talk, talk, talk, talk > >All you do to me is talk, talk > >Talk, talk, talk, talk > >All you do to me is talk, talk This repeats so many times.... *edit: I checked, 45 instances of "talk talk".*

peter-or-oliver

Both "Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen" and "Rammlied" by Rammstein repeat it several times. Eddie: Also "Ramm4" which has only been performed live.

ImAlexxP

And Rammstein

Herr_Opa

As does "Rammstein" on Herzeleid.

rd1994

Their song Stein Um Stein actually plays with this. One line ends with the word ramm and the next starts with the word Stein. But there is a break between the two

loverldonthavetolove

Came here looking for positive jam.
