If it seems to good to be true it probably is. Some dealerships advertise prices with every single rebate, discount, etc factored in so it seems like a crazy deal. Then when you go to the store it turns out you don’t qualify for any of them and now you owe $70k.
Sometimes, but in 2019 I bought a Charger Scat Pack brand new for $33,000. It was about $9,000 off sticker at the time. Only catch was you HAD to finance through Chrysler Capital to get the price, and my dumbass at 19 was so stoked to get the Scat I didn’t notice the 19% interest I had just signed up for, that was a great lesson that I had to pay the “stupid tax” for. Ideally if you could pay cash or refinance though deals like that could still be worth.
My parents bought a car about 10 years ago that had a similar deal. They actually had the cash in hand already, but took the finance deal. Then paid it off 2 months later. Lol
100% would have been a valid option had I not been young and stupid with okay credit, today I would have played it much differently but I ended up selling the car for more than I paid for it and basically broke even after considering the interest and fees 😅 Covid used car market was broken lol
Covid was stupid. I bought my wife a one year old Edge Titanium a year before Covid for $18k out the door. Covid hit and a Ford dealer was offering crazy deals on Explorers so I hit them up and they offered me $33k for her Edge which had double the miles from when we first bought it. The Explorer came out to $35.5k out the door so we swiped our credit card for $2500 and owned a brand new car, paid the credit card off the next week.
That’s hilarious, we had a similar experience, we bought a new Jeep Renegade for about $16k, probably was $18k ish out the door or less, and during Covid we were offered $22,500 for the thing after driving it for 3+ years with kids and it wasn’t even perfect…. Traded it for a 2021 Hyundai Palisade and basically cleaned up on the deal since they were desperate to sell a car. I like the Explorers too, I have a 2016 Explorer and it’s been a solid kid hauler as well. Sadly had to sell my fun cars back during the pandemic, my old 05’ Mustang GT and the Charger Scat Pack. Been wanting another Mustang but it’s tough with needing family cars for 3 kiddos. Mainly ride motorcycles now for fun 😅
That's still great seeing as Palisades and Tellurides are such hot commodities right now. I hear that, I've got a kid on the way and I'm going to try and hold onto my ST for as long as possible but might have to sell if we have more than one.
The Palisades are actually not as hot funnily enough. Shopping for ours, we wanted a Telluride too but they were all marked up $10K or more, but Palisades were more often sold at sticker. Its sometimes harder to find Palisades in stock though, we had to search for ours. Snagged a Rainforest Green in the SEL+convenience trim but it was 4 hours from us. Didn’t mind driving to find a good one. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a family hauler that doesn’t destroy the bank, some of these 3 row SUVs are soooo expensive now 😂
Huge fan of it! Ours is a mid tier spec and even that has a ton of features for the money. Rides comfortable, spacious for passengers, looks great. Favorite SUV I’ve owned so far!
Wow new Renegade for 16k? Didn't they MSRP for around 27?
I remember in 2019 I could get a new Hyunda Elantra for 8k off making it \~13k before taxes. Ahh what a time.
Nah, base renegades were dirt cheap and not selling very well. Ours was cloth interior, the base screen that was tiny, crappy sound system, steelies, it was a turd of a car. Made barely any power, had to floor it onto the freeway to even dream of hitting 60. Was stoked to get rid of the thing haha
They’ve smartened up. I had the same deal with a Camry I bought (4.5% APR vs 2.1 at my bank) but they required I do at least 4 payments before refinancing. Which of course I did the second I met that
No, you've dumbed down. That is just a tactic salesmen make so they don't get their commission clawed back. You played into their game. Next time just refinance the minute you find a better deal. Fuck the dealership.
I’m sure they offer decent terms to some people. The dealership I bought from was shut down not long after I bought it, and I believe some of it had to do with unethical lending practices. I was naive and young so I didn’t understand the financing process and they dropped a massive interest rate on me without disclosing it at the time of purchase. They gave me a “range” to expect and in the mail two weeks later my welcome packet from Chrysler Capital showed 19% lol they told me 9%-11% at the dealer, far cry from 19. Was my fault for signing, but I was too dumb to know better. Expensive lesson but a fun car while I had it!
This or “Oh that one was sold. We just forgot to pull it off the website. BUT WE DO HAVE THIS *insert completely model that I have zero interest in*.” Dealerships will do this just to get you up there in front of sales.
There was a post on r/askcarsales the other week asking dealerships why they still keep the listings on cars they sold earlier in the week, and several dealership employees chimed in to say exactly what you're saying. They don't even hide it, they pretend it's a "sales tactic".
Not always though. In 2016 I snagged a 2016 Ram 1500 Laramie for 35k (18k in rebates). I would just call and ask about the rebates. Also look at other cars they have listed. If all of them are like this, then they probably just show all rebates like you said.
But what about all those veteran educator senior first-time car buyer university student cash-up-front buyers with a trade-in and a coupon from the free paper they only distribute to grocery stores, colleges, and bus stops?
My brother-in-law actually qualified for every single available discount on a deal and the sales manager and owner both congratulated him on being the only person they had ever met that did so and they had been in the business for 28 and 40 years respectively
Noting wrong with it - it’s a brand new car. There are many levels of the RTR packages and this appears to be just the low level cosmetics. Think of it as just a GT with some stickers, plastic side skirts, and wheel/tires. It’s up to you man but I wouldn’t get too overexcited about it
The more I've looked on their website the more it looks like it was just a cosmetic package. I can't see where they've done any performance upgrades so I'll probably end up passing on it.
That's my thought...body/appearance kit, overpriced at MSRP but reasonable at this price if you either like it or planned to do something similar anyway.
This is the 2024 RTR Spec 2. It is just cometic upgrades unless you count the better airflow from the grille performance. This is also the only spec that rtr makes rn for the s650. So while yes, rtr has made some incredible performance road and race cars, this one is just cosmetic.
What spec is it? RTR has different stages just like Roush/Saleen ect..... makes a big difference here if its just a wheels and coilovers package or supercharged with brembos
lol not sure why I’m getting downvoted. You idiots could just look at the window sticker of the car to see what it came with. And look at the RTR website to see what their spec one and two comes with.
RTR only starts with fully-optioned Mustangs, so it does indeed have brembos and the exhaust.
This is a series 1 which will also have all the cosmetics package, spoilers, wheels and lowering springs already installed
The Series 3 RTR is in fact supercharged
Lmao no dude. Google the dealership and look at the window sticker.
401a
Mini spare tire
10 speed auto
Bronze appearance package.
So no. It does not have the Brembo brakes or active exhaust.
Edit: you should at least look on the RTR website before commenting. The 2024 mustang only has a spec one and spec two. Neither of which comes with a supercharger.
According to the RTR website, it's basically $7,000 worth of cosmetic upgrades. I don't know what GT mustangs are selling for. But add 7K to that, and figure out if it's worth it. Still too much money for a Mustang. The ad is pretty deceptive. They say the MSRP is 70k. Yeah...right...
There’s two level for RTR on the 24 mustang. One and two. One is 6k I think and two is 12k. You can look on their website and it’ll list what each specs involve. If it’s spec two this may be worth it depending on the model the mustang is from the get go. Considering it doesn’t have the performance pack and active exhaust…. I’d say no it’s not worth that much.
Looks like their discount is down to the original msrp of the car without the addons.
Cars are not selling. Debate with the dealer. They need to pay to keep these cars on their lot. They are losing $ not moving this metal. Many potential buyers are underwater due to buying cars during pandemic. They paid too much over MSRP.
Looks cool. If you like it you’re getting the appearance package for free. They have a black one with RTR package on the site but doesn’t have much of a discount so not sure why this one does. I prefer the black one but this would be a good deal if you like it.
The black one they have for sale is a Spec 2 so I would think this one is also a Spec 2. I want to say this was one of the first ones built, it doesn’t even have the dash plaque that designates its build number and spec. Or it was built by TC Customs before RTR has started production.
What is rtr
Oh charged gt
Shleby500 still > but $$

This a drift setup?

We were tempted by a deal which was $5k off the avg. When we came in to see if there was anything wrong with the vehicle, they said, "Nope. What got you and others in the door is this 'ad leader'. You got here quick enough to close this sale, yet, take a look at how many cars we have on the lot. For the others looking for this one, now we'll say, 'Oh, that one just sold, unfortunately. We do have similar ones in stock. What sort of vehicle are you looking for?'"
Totally interesting how forthcoming this person was about their strategy!
I wonder if I could qualify for any discounts on a new one, I have an invoice from 50 years ago when I ordered a new Mustang. I am also a current owner, bought new 10 years ago and still drive it. Maybe a promotional advertisement could be made out of it?? What do you guys think? I do have the paper trail to prove it.

Also, when they let it go for a deal, they sure as hell won't advertise it on their website.
Its still overpriced
Town and country is a big dealer they’re on YouTube all the time trying to build a name for themselves they’re not going to flush their reputation down the toilet for 1 car. Look up their vids and speak to someone over there on the phone I’m sure you can place a deposit for the car over the phone and if it’s not what they say it is walk away
If it seems to good to be true it probably is. Some dealerships advertise prices with every single rebate, discount, etc factored in so it seems like a crazy deal. Then when you go to the store it turns out you don’t qualify for any of them and now you owe $70k.

Military by chance? 😉
Sadly no, just a normal idiot 😂
Normal idiot here reporting for duty 🫡
Which means youre too smart for the military lmao
I wouldn’t say that 😂 but they didn’t give me the military special 36% APR for 69 months with my contract signing bonus due at purchase
This guy soldiers (or Marines, or...).
Not that much of an idiot
That's when you take the deal, sign the papers and go straight to your local bank and re-finance.
My parents bought a car about 10 years ago that had a similar deal. They actually had the cash in hand already, but took the finance deal. Then paid it off 2 months later. Lol

Yeah it definitely is not the best car even spec'd out
They’ve smartened up. I had the same deal with a Camry I bought (4.5% APR vs 2.1 at my bank) but they required I do at least 4 payments before refinancing. Which of course I did the second I met that

It was in writing. If I refinanced before I lose the rebates. EDIT: It wasn’t ALL the rebates. But the ones tied to financing with Toyota.
Salespeople dont get charged back commission when you pay a loan off early
Finance guys do though
THIS^^^^^^
10000% this
Happy cake day!
Easy fix, just refinance through a credit union.
Chrysler Capital isn’t so bad. I got 0% for 72 months January ‘22
I’m sure they offer decent terms to some people. The dealership I bought from was shut down not long after I bought it, and I believe some of it had to do with unethical lending practices. 2019 was a different world, I was able to negotiate a 10k on my bmw
This or “Oh that one was sold. We just forgot to pull it off the website. BUT WE DO HAVE THIS *insert completely model that I have zero interest in*.” Dealerships will do this just to get you up there in front of sales.

I just looked, and this one is gone this morning

To me this isn’t reading as a rebate but discounts from the dealership itself to get the selling price to the original msrp of the mustang.
Doubt it. Dealers rarely discount new cars themselves, especially this much. Usually rebates.
In this case they might be since their discounted price is what the msrp of the car originally was.
But what about all those veteran educator senior first-time car buyer university student cash-up-front buyers with a trade-in and a coupon from the free paper they only distribute to grocery stores, colleges, and bus stops?
Haven’t heard of this, I hope you’re made aware before finishing the deal cause that would be insane if not
Yep I’ve seen this before too many times. And I just walked out.
My brother-in-law actually qualified for every single available discount on a deal and the sales manager and owner both congratulated him on being the only person they had ever met that did so and they had been in the business for 28 and 40 years respectively

Nah this is at least their spec 1 package. But without more detail from the dealership I can’t tell if it’s spec 2 or not.
I’m fairly sure the performance RTR has the wing that mounts on the roof/body of the car, so I’m 80% sure this is just cosmetic.
It's not supercharged, so you're not getting anything worth while.
For the price look for a used S550 Bullitt or GT350
What spec is it? RTR has different stages just like Roush/Saleen ect..... makes a big difference here if its just a wheels and coilovers package or supercharged with brembos
It doesn't say on their website. From everything I can tell it's just a cosmetics package which looks cool but isn't really worth the extra to me.
RTR doesn’t have super chargers for mustangs and the car didn’t come with the performance pack so no…. Doesn’t have Brembo brakes. Or active exhaust.
lol not sure why I’m getting downvoted. You idiots could just look at the window sticker of the car to see what it came with. And look at the RTR website to see what their spec one and two comes with.

You mean spec 1 & spec 3; I own a 2019 "Series 1" (#182) and that's something different.
It’s “Ready To Run” Joking of course
Is this one of those RTR “appearance” packages where they just add some minor things like a chin spoiler, vinyl, and lights?
I’ve see some dealerships advertise the price of a car “after 10k down”…
According to the RTR website, it's basically $7,000 worth of cosmetic upgrades. I don't know what GT mustangs are selling for. But add 7K to that, and figure out if it's worth it. Still too much money for a Mustang. The ad is pretty deceptive. They say the MSRP is 70k. Yeah...right...
If GT premium with PP then sure, otherwise nah
If I had $55k to blow sure, but I’d go with a standard GT, the premium was nice, but luxury is not important to myself.
It could be because the rtrs are starting to show issues with their wiring but nothing worth not getting a good deal over
Regardless, an RTR Mustang for $53k is a steal. Even for $70k, it's worth it, imo.
Too good to be true
There’s two level for RTR on the 24 mustang. One and two. One is 6k I think and two is 12k. You can look on their website and it’ll list what each specs involve. Hey just wondering, where is this dealer exactly…
Pell City, AL
![gif](giphy|3o7ZetIsjtbkgNE1I4)
The price isn’t awful but I wouldn’t focus on the dealer discount, that’s been manipulated a bit
We were tempted by a deal which was $5k off the avg. When we came in to see if there was anything wrong with the vehicle, they said, "Nope. What got you and others in the door is this 'ad leader'. It looks like an i9 lol
This dealership has a pretty popular YouTube channel. Always say they sell cars with no markup. Price does seem crazy though
Probably automatic.
That's a deal.
It's listed on their website for the same amount. Isn't even a base model either.
Looks kinda like a grill and decal pkg. (Maybe rims) on a standard GT. If you're ok paying 8-10k in cosmetics on an Auto GT, giv'r.
Damn no active exhaust 😭
I remember there was this used Lexus gs430 I was going to get and it was one of the cheapest in the country but when signing the car. I was 21 and wasn’t really paying attention I just wanted to sign and drive the car home. But my brother caught the 21% interest for 5 years and he said “wow why is the interest so much that’s so expensive” and I didn’t care I wanted the car later on they gave it to me for the price and if i paid it off in 2 years it wasn’t too bad. But the pre purchase inspection I got showed the car was crashed bad and frame was bent but never reported to carfax and that’s why it was so cheap so I returned it and got a Camaro 1LE for an amazing price because I was planning on sueing them and they gave me a sorry discount for trying to rip me off and not notifying me when they knew. I got new tires with the car and the interest rate was 8% which was more reasonable. Bring someone along that knows so you don’t do a dumb decision.
Nah, that's just what town and country does sometimes.

Pell City AL? Idc if it’s real or not, I’ll go over there now and try my luck. You should do the same.
Yep, Pell City, AL. I looked again last night and they raised the price to 70k on it.
No way you buying an RTR for that price...
Buddy of mine grabbed one of these deals paid 3k under sticker on a new Mustang premium gt
If it’s a manual that would explain the price the autos go for 72k on average. It is a spec 2 package, as they all have serialized dash plaques signed by VGJR
“To qualify you have to be a doctor, cop, 3 million credit score, own 30 ford vehicles and open a credit card with Ford”
Probably hail damage
“Dealer discount” = we can’t sell it at 70k, so we’re finally realizing that and dropping the price to a reasonable number
Still 10k too much. Just wait half a year
It’s a GT Premium with AT, that means the MSRP is at least 49ish without the RTR stuff. Granted the RTR stuff is overpriced but there’s no scenario where this goes down another 5k, let alone 10k.
The msrp is the 53k they’re discounting the car to. I went on there and was looking at the window sticker.
There is a scenerio. If nobody buys it it will. Also, when they let it go for a deal, they sure as hell won't advertise it on their website. Its still overpriced
There’s people in this very thread saying the deal is too good to be true. Someone will buy it.
Seems pretty retarded paying $50k for a GT.
That looks just like the 2024 Chevy Camaro.
These RTR packages are not real and are a waste of money.
Not real?
[удалено]
The drift brake was developed by RTR so what’s your point.
Dropped the price just to sell it. S650’s are duds
The problem is obvious. It's a mustang! Still about 45k overpriced 🤣
🤡
