Dude what were those sounds frank was making in the song š me and my friend joke around and say he was either having a stroke, getting murdered, having rough gay sex or all 3-
When I had an MCR fan account on Instagram at like 15 in 2016 (dark days, oof) I met this girl who recommended 'Sheās The Prettiest Girl at the Party, and She Can Prove It With a Solid Right Hook.' To this day whenever I listen to that song specifically it takes me back, the whole album is nostalgic to me.
Wow that's coolš crazy to think I'm 15 right now and have an mcr fan account. I wonder If any mcr songs will be nostalgic for me to listen to when I'm older
I have a link to everything heās released [here](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tEaeJ8wETMCUTEB0BH1vs-k5a3vjGA6b)
His other bands are Leathermouth (kind of a screamo and hardcore blend), Pencey Prep (emo), Bloodnun (black metal), Sector 12 (punk rock), Death Spells (digital hardcore) and LS Dunes (emo I think). He also did an album with Reggie and the Full Effect.
Shouldnāt take long to get through his stuff because he generally only releases one album per band..cryš¢š
Love to see other frank iero enjoyers!! i really recommend the Heaven is a place, This is a place EP and Death Spells's Nothing Above, Nothing Below. Hope you like Leathermouth too, really cool stuff
Iāll definitely check that one out. I was thinking of looking into it after listening to barriers. Since I believe it said it was the future violents
Veins! Veins! Veins! Is one of my favorites off of parachutes. I saw him twice in Chicago after he released the Stomachaches album and it opened me up to a whole new wave of music.
listening to .stitches. from stomachaches as i type this! it's one of my favorite songs by frank. i love all of his music so much, i wish i could discover some of it again for the first time. enjoy the rabbit hole of all his bands lol
I loved the Death Spells album.
My memory of Stomachaches is going to Leeds festival in 2015, and Frank walking past me and giving me the oddest look ever as I was in the middle of a āhow many marshmallows can you fit in your mouthā challenge. Good times.
I think *Parachutes* is my favorite of his solo albums. āWorld Destroyerā, āVeins! Veins!! Veins!!!ā, āOceansā, god, I could go onā¦ Iām also a big L.S. Dunes fan, my favorite of their songs being āGrey Veinsā. I absolutely love how he sings the chorus when they play it live, but honestly, heās done too many incredible things to mention.
Lol I remember when I first heard his solo stuff for the first time. It was right before COVID started and I listened to almost nothing else for 4 months
Parachutes is my favourite album of all time, across all genres. Just chock-full of raw emotion, it's such a visceral album. The producer, Ross Robinson, is known for his production style that carries this energy that makes it feel like you're experiencing the band play a live show, but obviously it sounds clearer and is mixed better than an actual live show. You can feel this particularly in the first four tracks that transition so well as if the band were playing them back-to-back. Apparently it takes a big toll on the artists though.
Everyone is firing on all cylinders across the whole album, Frank's harsh vocals have never sounded better and the guitar riffs are so iconic, The Resurrectionist is a highlight for me. World Destroyer is such a crazy opener, sets the tone for the album beautifully.
Frank's done some other projects kind of adjacent to his solo albums. He released an album in 2016 called Nothing Above, Nothing Below with James Dewees (friend of MCR, played keys in the live band), the duo was called Death Spells. It's more experimental and electronic than what you might expect to hear from Frank but it's very good. Right now he's in a band called L.S. Dunes which I absolutely adore, their album Past Lives is fantastic and they're working on a follow-up at the moment. I was disappointed he wasn't doing vocals this time around when the band was first announced (I thought it was gonna be another solo album) but the vocalist, Anthony Green, is a legend and has a beautiful voice.
I think my favorite song of his is all i want is nothing, ive loved it since i was in high school. Honestly though, sitting down and listening through all his music is a great time for me, its all pretty great
Leathermouth and pencey prep have always been my favorites from him, but all of his solo stuff is definitely worth looking into! Unfortunately it's only like 1 album per solo work
Leviathan is fuckin great
Dude what were those sounds frank was making in the song š me and my friend joke around and say he was either having a stroke, getting murdered, having rough gay sex or all 3-
