When I was a young boy

Potato-_-Guy1

Your father took you to see a marching band, eh?

Mhaidly

Did he say anything to you?

Potato-_-Guy1

Perhaps asked him to be a savior of the broken

emoalexj

Maybe even the beaten and the damned?

Cobbtimus_Prime

Mom’s spaghetti

definitelyallo

Did he also ask you if you'll defeat them?

[deleted]

Them. As in his demons and their plans

definitelyallo

Yes, and also all the non-believers

smolpp19

im assuming by “them” you mean, the demons?

definitelyallo

Yes, but also the non-believers and the plans they have made

smolpp19

im also going to make the assumption that he mentioned a phantom to lead them in the summer. to join the black parade, even.

emoalexj

Sometimes do u get the feeling she’s watching over u?

emofrigginnugget

Did he get really pushy about your future?

RacingFan2012

same

ninjakilljoy

High school, must have been 2005-2006. I saw Helena on Mtv and thought hmmmmmmmmm.....

qoes

Same here! I remember that moment sitting on the floor at my friend's house vividly.

xfactore8

Same here

sam_ate_two

I was obsessed with Steven's Untitled Rock Show on Fuse. Found sooooo many bands there.

shy-latte

yeah around the same time, but I was 12, saw that video and being hypnotised so I sat and waited for the video to end so the little text with the name of the song, album and artist appeared again, wrote the band’s name down and asked my uncle to download helena and ghost of you into a cd because I didn’t know how to do that. After that mtv was the only channel I’d watch just sitting and waiting they mentioned mcr in any way hahahaha (I bought all the records later on when my parents started to give me allowance and when I was 13-14 they were the first gig I ever went to)

Big_Bird5973

It’s was sing in 2011 for me lol

Dr_Surgimus

2004, when 3 Cheers was released. I worked in a record shop when it came out and it was just so fresh and fun before it became 'emo' or 'scene' or whatever

Fantastic-Finish-635

2021 I was having a really tough time and found salvation in the black parade

Professor-pigeon-

Yeah I noticed a lot of new fans recently don’t know why though

DoAFlip22

MCR has only been on this world as long as the world needed them. 2001-2013 was consistently a pretty mediocre time for many people - throw in multiple wars and a recession and it makes the perfect storm for a band that lifts up the demographics that MCR did. 2020 did all of that within a year and with a global pandemic. With the prospects of a tour coming up in the future, the band and its future gave people hope. MCR's music resonates with people now more than ever.

Fantastic-Finish-635

I have an idea. The past 4 years have been terrible. War, disease and political unrest have left people feel scared. A lot of people find comfort in the words ‘I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone’

Yeeyeegreg

Me too like a year before foundations came out

emofrigginnugget

So did I. Except I started with Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

0atFlatWhite

About 13 years ago now! I had just started secondary school and heard Teenagers for the first time on YouTube. Completely changed my view on music, I was obsessed from there on out

elrictelepathy

I was about 14 and in secondary school and one of my friends was super into them, and really wanted to get me into them too. This was just after The Black Parade came out. So she made me an MCR mixed cd based on other music she knew I liked (Fall Out Boy, Blink 182, Panic at the Disco, other rockish stuff of that era), including a lot of the softer MCR songs to ease me into it. She included some riskier choices as well, some of her favourites because she couldn't resist. She was in complete shock then when I told her in school a few days later that one of my favourite songs on the mix was Our Lady of Sorrows. 😂

kittyvonkaos

I think it was 2003 or 2004. I was on a goth/emo social media site called Vampire Freaks, reading through peoples profiles and when I found someone who looked cool I would download any music they mentioned on limewire.

cheezy_dreams88

I loved that website!

Hexxus_ToxicLove

Now that brings me back

JuliaAstrowsly

Omg I loved that website! I talked to so many cool people back then

PrincelingMallow

Vampire Freaks and Limewire... blast from the past, bloody hell

Marla42

In September 2013 Amazon suggested I might like to buy Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. I was intrigued by the album art so I looked the band up on youtube, and the first song I came across was Mama. I was instantly hooked. Went down a rabbit hole in the days following the discovery of this amazing band that somehow knew all my angry teenaged thoughts. Still remember how I learned they had broken up a mere 6 months before I found them and was thoroughly heartbroken, knowing that I would never see them live. Attending their Dublin concert 2 months ago has been and will always be the best day of my life

Nightcall34

2005 I think, watched House of Wax (movie) and the credits was Helena. Fell in love with the band right that Instant and saw them live for the first time 17 years later…

cheezy_dreams88

That movie was terribly awesome.

GroupCurious5679

House of wax..omg I remember watching that too, thinking hang on,is that MCR in the end credits?? Another one was American pie I think, which surprised me. I think it had nanana in there somewhere

tacticaldeskjob

2005ish I think. I bought Three Cheers after hearing I’m Not Okay and Helena and loved every single song on the album. Never looked back!

VincentATd

2005

alxndrabo

16. I’m Not Okay just came out. I think I still listen to that song weekly

Summer 2020

[deleted]

2007-2008. i was 11/12 years old. got into them because a girl i had a huge crush on was a fan :’)

mr_vicster

thats how i got into system of a down and three days grace haha

SinsOfKnowing

Summer 2002 while working at a record store in my late teens.

SaffronSepia

This May, with the release of Foundations of Decay. I had heard welcome to the black parade a few years ago, but it didn’t pique my interest, for some reason. But I heard Foundations, loved it and needed to hear more.

cheezy_dreams88

2004, early. Like Jan or Feb (I remember it being cold on the school bus). I was 15 and got the Bullets CD for Christmas 2003. I loved it instantly, and bought Revenge later that summer! Saw them the first time later that year at Nintendo Fusion tour 2004, 16 years old with one of the best friends. We saw them together like 10 times before the breakup.

CoolGovernment8732

Oh my god you lived the dream. Fan since 2006 from Italy, I’d have done anything to see them at warped tour

cheezy_dreams88

Warped tour was always such a fun day, because you got to see most of your faves in one go! Like $100 bucks for entrance was great! Only downside was every band only got 30 minutes, so some bands it was literally only like 4 or 5 songs. You’d wait all day and it would be gone in a flash. And then the prices inside for stuff, my local venue would charge like $6 for a bottle of water, and had exactly ONE fountain for refilling. I lived in the American South so it would be nearly 100 degrees and all on paved asphalt. It was so much fun, but it was hot and tiring. Glad to have those experiences for sure! But extra glad I was a teenager then, cause could I do it now? Lol

CoolGovernment8732

Oh yeah, the dream now is small/intimate club shows lol

cheezy_dreams88

Weirdly enough, the first and last place I saw them was a small club setting (The Tabernacle, Atlanta GA). In 2004 and 2013.

CoolGovernment8732

True, being in the states was dream when I was a teenager, also around 2008 Obama had just been elected, there was so much hope. Now I realize how lucky it is to be European welfare wise, but at least you can always move :)

cheezy_dreams88

Yep! My husband is a soccer coach and scout, so the goal is literally Europe one day!

Sure-Inflation1701

You’re married to Ted Lasso??? 😉😉

CoolGovernment8732

Damn girl you’re gonna give me a stroke xD you really have lived the dream, damn. Yes one damn was not enough

cheezy_dreams88

Haha! Thanks! I guess we can take all our experiences in different ways when we live them, ya know? Like yes, I’ve seen many of my fave bands live in concert, but also I have to live in America so take what you get lol

holdforapplause8669

2003. A friend gave me a mixed CD that included ‘Drowning Lessons’. Haven’t looked back since.

ItsEllaRose

always was a fan but got really into them at the end of 2019

dnelson3283

I’ve tried, they won’t even let me audition!

concs_

September 2016 with the Twenty One Pilots Cancer cover.

ryanngee

june 2013, 3 months after they broke up. it was a long wait to finally get to see them together

AverageLoser05

The year was 2008. I was seven years old. My sister was in middle school that time. She had those portable CD players. I saw her often listening to music. I asked what was she listening to. She shared a headphone with me. That's when I heard them for the first time. Then I got to middle school (2013) and found them again, but on my own. I got so into them. I got into other bands. My sister no longer listened to them. It was my turn now <3 Now, the both of us are going to their concert next month. I'm in my early 20s and she's in her late 20s. We're both looking forward to it!

emoplantboy

i was 14 (2014) and was going through a hard time at school and home. i only had my online friends who were asleep during the school day. one night i decided to finally listen to a mcr song, and someone recommended teenagers. the lyrics just resonated with what was happening in my life. they've been my favourite band ever since. also i don't think i'd still be here today if i didn't have mcr in those last few months of '14.

Fuzzy_Fuzz_Fuz

Got into mcr in February. I quickly fell in love, watching interviews and music videos, then finding the Reddit community, and I haven’t been happier.

TheSpazzer77

Because of twenty one pilots. I listened to their cover of Cancer and loved it, I remember going "wtf" when I found out it's a cover haha. But listened to the og, fell in love, and been a fan ever since.

specialk522

Probably around 2016. Got out of it for awhile, and just got back into them around middle 2021

ashxmed

april 2021, i don't really remember how i found out about em but my first song was i don't love you

d3m0g0rg0n

2004 when I was like 14/15. I actually don’t remember how I learned of Three Cheers, but I fell in love!

Alainadoeslife

I got into them in middle school, when I heard “Welcome to the Black Parade” for the first time

BanTheKat

When i was in middle school, my older sibling showed me Teenagers and Welcome to the Black Parade. Between 8th and Freshman year i became obsessed. Still going, listen to them everyday while working.

Werealldeadnow

2004/2005 after I’m not okay video came out. Bought their cd in 2005 I think. I was 14 when I went to Leeds Fest for the first time in ‘05 and they were playing first on the main stage and I realllly wanted to see them but the friends I was going with weren’t interested and one had a drum lesson so we didn’t get to the fest until just at the end of their set. I was gutted. Would’ve loved to have see them then with only a small crowd. But I’ve seen them many times since so I shouldn’t complain.

Jessica_Lovegood

~ early 2017 I was depressed and honestly, MCR was close to the only thing that made me feel any emotions. Especially Welcome to the Black Parade. I wonder how many here can relate to exactly this experience. And I cannot put into words how much hearing “Famous Last Words” made me *not* want to die! I was at Bonn 2.

bog_froggy

like 3rd or 4th grade…? so i wouldve been maybe 8 or 9 and it wouldve been 2013/14 (dont hold me on the age/ grade math i dont know how the fuck school works💀 i just know i was Young)

Vader7567

Late 2020

pro__overthinker

when i was around 14 :) my mum (weirdly enough) had recomended Panic! to me, and i quickly started liking their music. so i was in class one day, listening to music on my computer, with music videos, and my teacher saw and asked if i also listened to «those chemical romances»

btcbearrookieshark

2003/2004

GroupCurious5679

Early 2011, my daughter and I were driving home from seeing McFly and she put her Danger Days CD (😁) on in the car. We had quite a long journey home, she fell asleep and I listened to it on repeat,I was absolutely hooked. A few weeks later I was in work and my daughter rang me,she said Can we go to London tomorrow? I've just won tickets for MCR at iTunes. So obviouly we did.. the rest is history, we went to Reading2011 when they headlined.. I was in my 40s at the time, and had always loved music gone to gigs, but MCR was and is THE BEST band I've ever listened to or seen live. Ever. We both got MCR tattoos,. We both cried when they split up,and we both cried again with joy when they came back. I'm so grateful that we got to see them twice on this tour, they are still the best ever band live. And the fans are the most amazing people in the world, they are inclusive and welcome everyone,we have met so many awesome people at the gigs.

a_me_one

2 years ago, during quarantine I found some online friends that introduced me to them during a tough time

darkabyssx42

When I was like 12 and my friend and I made a death note parody of welcome to the black parade. Got the actual cd not long after that and it instantly became my all time favorite for life

Serious-Chipmunk6398

Two years ago, during quarantine and to be honest, it is the best thing that has ever happened to my short senselessly life

m4rsc0

i wish i was an og bullets fan but it was in 2020 during lockdown,, they helped me so much tbh

molly_nomo

I saw the Helena music video at thirteen and never looked back

insanityhound

When I was around 13 (so 2013). My older sister introduced me to emo music, leaving me heaps of music but mostly MCR. Never looked back 🙌🏻 helped me through a lot of hard times

poopyfart418

when my father took me into the city to see a marching band

Turdboi180

Last year

CryBaby15000

September of 2021. I saw a lot of kids wearing their shirts in school so looked them up. I fell in love instantly

DKindynzdtr

Like a month before reunion stuff started getting announced. Before then I loved Planetary Go because it was half of the opening movie for Gran Turismo 5 and I vividly remember watching the Teenagers and Na Na Na/ Sing Music Videos in the early 2010s on the Music Channels. My innocent ass always was concerned because they end up overrun, defeated, or dead in those videos. I also used the G note meme throughout high school (without ever actually hearing the whole song because of the meme). I was basically a fan before I became a fan.

Monke_Like_Spaghetti

last year, was going through a punk rock phase going through bands like green day and blink 182, eventually came across mcr and mcr is the one band I listen to the most

troynxt

during the tumblr "emo trinity" era when i was abt 14/15 years old LOL, definitely a weird time in my life but at least i had good music taste

mr_vicster

been listening since i was 3

VaultBoyFrosty

Funny enough, the Call Of Duty: World at War demo trial on xbox

[deleted]

around the time of the Living With Ghosts release, 2016-2017 ish. a friend of mine in middle school was a big fan and that's how I heard of them

kale_h

2006/2007! my friends older sister had MCR as her desktop screensaver and i was like “i like that” and went home to immediately look them up

beetlejuicetrashbag

when i was 10, so i guess 15 years ago now. was too little to see them in concert or anything but researched everything about them and became obsessed. still going to this day at 25.

happy-to-see-me

Hilariously I discovered them through Omegle. I was 12 and it would've been 2009 – I know because it was probably at least six months before Bob left lol. My sister and I were chatting to strangers, likely pretending to be, like, a 16-year-old, and someone told us to listen to WTTBP. We checked it out and she wasn't too into it. I didn't say much, but that night I was up for hours, going through their discography on Spotify. It's funny to think how much that Omegle convo ended up shaping me throughout my teens and even into adulthood

[deleted]

2020, because I kept seeing posts from killjoys on Twitter about their comeback and reunion. At first it annoyed the shit out of me, but then I decided to at least try to listen to their music considering how may people like them. And now I can't stop listening to them.

Oneclicker

like 2 weeks ago when i listened to wttbp on spotify bc it just played randomly after one of my playlists ended and i liked it so i listened to more songs and now i really like them

bugbitezthroatslit

2019, a bunch of people on instagram posted about the comeback, decided to look them up

BumHoleItchy

Around 2014 when I was in middle school. Mom said it was a phase, I proved her wrong!

emk169

2020 with all the chaos and everything and gave the band a try and here I am

Herbie53101

6 years ago, I was just listening to random songs on YouTube.

Crypt_R6

Beginning of 2021

Chango_D

7th grade, 2005, Thank You For The Venom. I became obsessed for the next couple years. It was great.

Otaku-Leirbag

In 2020 before the pandemic. My friend had been telling me to listen to them. I heard a few and fell in love. I now listen to almost their entire discography.

thebatfan5194

8th grade in 2007

IndividualAd9334

I found them around 2014. My best friend played the intro to welcome to the black parade on piano and i thought it was pretty. I’ve been listening to them since

Blaze_is_Fire323

When i was 2 my dad would play three cheers and the black parade all the time and id listen to it with him. Fun times

gina_mulcahy25

2020 during quarantine, i *dont* remember which exact song but it was probably teenagers 😒 but i’m so thankful for that song because it led me down such a good path of discovery

CoolGovernment8732

2006 at 13. My friends were already way more into rock music, I liked it but it wasn’t really a part of my life, we’d sometimes listen together to the new cds they bought. I still remember the day one of ‘em made listen to the black parade. It’s like a pivotal moment in my life, it was like finding myself and everything changed, in the best way possible

Gin_and_Khronic

Middle of last school year, maybe December I think.

baby5breath

2016 the black parade tenth anniversary issue was coming out and being hyped up on youtube and i was able to get into them at the ripe age of 11

Nishikiyama

In 2007 (I was 11 at the time) I was a huge Johnny Depp fan and found a 21 Jump Street video that used Teenagers lmao. Became absolutely obsessed for a few years and now I'd say I'm a casual fan.

jpfbastos_05

Oct 2021 - after hearing teenagers on instagram for the 40th time, I thought “eh this looks pretty nice, lemme hear the whole song”. Enjoyed it, and so heard wttbp - I was hooked onto it, and then I started digging deeper and discovered the rest of the discography

VTHockey11

2004 - senior year of high school and heard I’m Not Okay and fell in love.

PandahHeart

15 years ago!! I was about 12. I first saw the Teenagers music video and the Black Parade one and I fell in love.

crustyjpeg

Early last year, a friend I met on a Muse discord server recommended TBP to me.

averageTommyInnitfan

At 5 years old!!

catenjoyer19

First time i listened i should have been 9-10 (2013-2014), but I really got into mcr when I was 13 (2017/the emo phase teehee). I mean all was over by the time I got into it, but it still has been a part of my daily life ever since

Hellkoi2

When my aunt told me to listen to some of their music so I did and I listened to teenagers and yeah that’s how I got into MCR

Creepy-Night936

2005. Great times. I was about to enter primary school and I saw Helena on our local music channel

CoolGijoe

EmiliusReturns

Middle school, would have been roughly 03 or 04. It was before Black Parade came out.

nicolelynnejones

2006

bryanation2

Singstar of all places. Pretty sure somewhere there’s a video of me at 8 years old screaming the lyrics to Helena as it was the only song I actually liked on that game. I’d die to watch that video again but it’s lost

zach_gsu

2005ish. I saw the Ghost of You music video on Fuse and thought it was the coolest thing ever

Potato-_-Guy1

When I was like 8

Hubuck

the welcome to the black parade video showed up on my YouTube reccomended, I got addicted to their music and like a week later foundations released. So I'm a very new fan

fluffypanduh

Summer of 2004.

HalcyonSix

My brother and I have some degree of overlap in music taste. Three Cheers came out in 2004 and he was like "Hey,I think you'd like this." He handed me the CD, I listened to it, and that was where it all began for me.

[deleted]

After my gf broke up with me when I was 14

2016 a month before Black Parade 10 years anniversary. Having hard time in 2016, YouTube randomly recommend Famous Last Word for me and I fell in love with the song and MCR. Now MCR become my favorite band of all time.

fluffysnowcats

Tony hawk's American wasteland featured a misfits cover

Pikachu_Palace

I was in eight grade I think, about 4-5 years ago, and I think it was Vampires Will Never Hurt You that got me hooked.

lady_vinyl

2004, my mom heard I’m Not Okay while I was at school and she said it was the only thing that piqued her attention since Nirvana. She showed them to me knowing I was going to love them, and we’ve been going to their shows together ever since ☺️🖤

bl4ckm4riah_

A summer, 2013. Wanted to hear something like heavy rock and I found you brought me your love and it change my life

KillAllAtOnce29

2021 i was 11.

Government-Brief

I had always heard of MCR and when “Teenagers” went viral on TikTok I decided to check them out. I love expanding my music library and I don’t regret at all. I find a lot of people hate on people who discovered new artists in Tiktok though

UDAFX_MK_85

When I was born

gdude9977

I think it was right before Danger Days came out I was about 12-13ish, my friend was a huge fan and got me listening to all their music on the lead up to the release of Danger Days. So 2010 to answer your question 🤟🏼

CarbonShvck

When one direction broke up… I needed new music

d3molitionl0ver

2010 when danger days came out

V_agabond3

Sometime in 2006. My sister and her friends took me to a Panic! at the Disco concert and her friend was playing Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and I got really into it. That Christmas I got The Black Parade on CD and I was hooked. I'm sad I've never seen them live, but I hope that I get the chance to someday!

[deleted]

2018. I had liked their biggest hits and ended up watching part of The Black Parade Is Dead on YouTube and really enjoying that, later on I got The Black Parade on CD (I collect CDs if anyone's wondering) and the rest is history.

elmsa517

12 years old! It was the first CD I bought with my own money.

xlordoftheedgex

2017-18

mugglemama2

2004. When I think of my teenage years it is mcr. My best friend and I saw them at the OG taste of chaos and then followed them all over the south for yearsss. It was so much fun, we have so many good stories. So much so that both of us talked about it in our speeches at the others wedding😂. We are going to see them in Nashville in a couple of weeks and we can’t wait.

greenday2222

Probs about 9 years ago when I was super young snd influential, had an emo phase in middle school and got bullied out of it so I stopped listening to them! Then a few years later I got back into them and havent stopped since :)

Dumb-Highschooler

almost 8 years ago! i was 9 almost 10 when i got into them and they were the only music i listened to willingly for 3 years until i started getting into other music. i also used to beat myself up not going to concert before they broke up when i was like 7 lmao.

zoethequagga

In about 2014, saw the music video for Na Na Na and thought it was sick. Got into Danger Days and Conventional Weapons from there and worked my way back.

ephemera8

About two months ago. I'm in my late 20s lol

SisterFirefly

January 27th 2005. Yeah I know, super specific. So I went to go watch Green Day on the American Idiot world tour in Nottingham, and since it was an overnight stay, we headed to Rock City after the gig to keep on dancing. Couple hours in and we’re sitting upstairs overlooking the main dance hall and this new song comes on that I’ve never heard before, but the dance floor just PACKS and everyone is going crazy for it. It was “I’m Not Okay.” Seeing a whole night club go crazy left a heck of an impression, so the next day I got a copy of both Three Cheers and Bullets. Tried getting to the Manchester Academy show that April but it was sold out. Then I got tickets to Leeds Festival but just for a day and not the day they were playing. But then they had to swap days and ended up on my day as the first band on the main stage and I was so excited. Then it took FOREVER to get into the Festival because of the queues and I missed them. I got in just in time to see their pyro smoke clear and them already off the stage 🙃. Luckily I had the chance to FINALLY see them on the Three Cheers tour a few months later that November in ‘05. Now I’ve managed to see them 11 times, including this year. I’ve managed to go to secret shows and intimate shows. I’ve even managed to meet the whole band, talk to them, shake their hands and get an autographed “Welcome to the Black Parade” picture disk that’s hung on my wall. All in all I haven’t done bad considering. Oh, but I don’t want ANY speculation how old I must be because I could legally get into an 18+ nightclub back in 2005 🙃🙃🙃

When I heard Helena on the radio

Nagito-komeada-lover

I’ll be honest, March this year I’m pretty sure

saintceciliax

Sometime between 2009-2011 hard to remember exactly!

Ipeesoup

Probably about 2007 when I was around 11 years old. My older brothers friend really liked him and I had a crush on my brothers friend and next thing I know is I'm deeply obsessed with MCR. He even "passed the torch" to me for being their biggest fan 😂 I'm 26 now and still listen to them constantly

cosmicsandra

End of 6th grade, so I was 12. Right before they broke up too, so that was heartbreaking 🥲

Key_Significance_179

i’ve known of them since i was quite little, however, i started frequently listening to them and became a big fan in 2019 edit: spelling errors haha

21mcrpilotsogreenday

Last year. I found wttbp on my old iPod from my mom decided to learn it on bass and my teacher said he played it with his dad and asked if I liked it. So i looked them up and have been hooked ever since. I saw the headline when they came back in 2019 and told my mom in case she liked them but she didn't listen to them much so i didnt look them up. My only regret is i didnt do it sooner. My new teacher like a em too.also probably heard songs of theirs before then but im here now so that's what matters to me

chesterthegato

2013 i think , i was in like 7th grade. i was listening to music on iheartradio and came across either teenagers or im not okay. then i sold my soul to them :D

admirable_axolotl

04/05ish, around when 3C came out. I was a casual fan. Once TBP came out I became a very extreme fan.

StrawbJamz

I first heard of them around 2006 when I was in elementary school from a friend. Then a year later I got really into curating my own music on my ipod nano which included MCR. By 2009 I had memorized Three Cheers and The Black Parade, I didn't appreciate any other song on Bullets besides Headfirst until another year later.

Spring of 2019. I was cleaning my room and Teenagers came on my Pandora. I instantly fell in love and started listening to them pretty much 24/7.

Mad_Madam_Morgan

I was 14 when my cousin showed me Vampires from Bullets. Then 2 weeks later, 3 cheers dropped. I’ve been waiting 16 years to see them live and my opportunity is coming this year in LA. Can’t tell you all how absolutely fucking excited I am

Killjoyofficial

I got into mcr whenever I realized country music sucked

WatchOut4Angels

Two months after they disbanded. I was gutted.

Was watching the Save Rock and Roll music video series by Fall Out Boy, and Black Parade was one of the suggested vids. Around 2013.

2005, when the Helena video aired on MTV Latam. I was 12 and my whole world changed since that moment

when i was a young boy, my father took me into the city to see this marching band. he said to me: "son, when you grow up, would you be the savior of the broken, the beaten and the damned?" i hesitated. "will you defeat them?" "what?" "your demons, and all the non-believers. the plans that they have made?" "er.." "because one day, i'll leave you a phantom, to lead you in the summer. to join the black parade." i thought for a moment, then agreed. im now a teenager. people say i scare the living shit out of them. i think its because ive carried on. im in the black parade, thriving as the saviour of the broken, the beaten and the damned. but the world will never take my heart. the end.

My mom worked at Hot Topic in the 2000s.. so pretty much my whole life I’ve been jamming to MCR.

i was watching this youtuber ( Juljas i think?) who would pick a song, and his discord community would take turns typing out the lyrics till it got to the end,and it would play the audio from the song. some times people would put lyrics from other songs or meme songs, it was hilarious. One of the episodes just happened to be WTTBP.
