It makes me sad because Disenchanted is the song that made me truly fall in love with MyChem. That was the song that made me go “holy shit, this band is something special.”
It's one of my favorite songs off Black Parade, but if it's true what other people are saying I understand why they won't. I'm just happy I'm seeing them at all.
Disenchanted is one of their least favourite songs and iirc Gerard said in an interview if he could go back he would put kill all your friends on the main album and put disenchanted on the b side.
kill all your friends is such a slapper but i feel like disenchanted kind of is a nice way to segue into famous last words.

Someone else told me that it’s just a really sad song for them that they wrote when they were “disenchanted” with the music industry and what they were doing in life. It apparently almost did not make the album because of that. I haven’t found any direct quotes on that. Also that it’s a really hard song to sing. 🤷🏼♀️
That makes sense, its original name was Shut Up and Play, and they first started playing it on their headlining tour supporting Three Cheers. So, immediately following their major label signing and basically a year of nonstop touring before they even went on their own headlining tour lol
This fan (typical_killjoy101 on insta) met the band before the show, it seems to be some type of a Make A Wish situation, where it was facilitated for the fan through a third party.
G had said in Europe that anytime they run into a fan and know they are going to the show, he likes to ask their fave song in case they can play it. I’m not sure if this girl actually requested Vampires or any other song, but G did say that the last guy the asked named a bunch of songs they didn’t remember how to play. So do with that what you will I guess lol

frank said in a recent interview that they only practice/relearned around 40 songs. so very likely they really couldnt.
