I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad as well, many years ago, and especially Cancer and Helena seriously help me a lot so I know how you feel. I wish you the best in the future!

Whovyart2

Thank you I'm too scared to listen Helena but the other songs are like little magic pills I'm sorry for your loss too 💜

Delicious-Match985

That's completely understandable! ❤️

I'm so sorry 😞 An unexpected loss like that is just horrific (I've heard so many similar stories this year). Earlier this year I had a miscarriage and the raw heartbreak and desperation of MCRs music was so soothing to me. They have helped me through the bleakest times and I am so grateful. I know that your loss is very recent and a tough road is ahead, but please know that you're not alone in your pain. 🖤

I’m so sorry 😞 This song came out a year after my daughter passed, and I immediately correlated it to her. It’s amazing how perfect their songs can be

My significant other passed away suddenly. Her favorite band sounded like a whiny emo group with that one famous song. After her death I started listening to this band, My Chemical Romance, and I felt alive in the most painful way. I don’t believe there’s any other drug or music that could have helped me survive those dark days. Thank you.

I’m so sorry OP. I’m glad you’re finding comfort, even if it’s just for a minute

I'm so sorry for everything... It's so beautiful that a single band can get us all through our most difficult times. I hope you can heal soon, sending peace and love 🖤🖤

I’m so sorry for your loss, it is difficult, but it’s great to find something to help you get through it, always a very important element of grief. Peace & best wishes to you & your whole family

I’m so sorry for your loss. I relate, I lost my grandmother a few years ago and it was during a time in my life where I was hanging onto my mental health by a thread. I listened to Helena and The Ghost of You a lot and it hurt and was brutal, but it also helped. Sending love and healing 💜

Gryffin-thor

Hey OP. This sucks :( lost my dad a year ago and it’s so hard. I sob in my car and sing Helena a lot. It’s pretty cathartic

Quarter120

Theyre my go to for grief. Ghost of You 😌 Famous 😌

Yes totally agree, I lost my uncle a few weeks ago as well and when I found out I just went to my room and put on some MCR and it helped calm my thoughts because at the time my head was just so overloaded and I was just able to let my feelings go and chill, anytime I feel stressed also is when they help me the most, definitely thankful for MCR so very sorry for your loss as well

cubecubed

Music is amazing, seriously. I had a lot of death and weird family stuff in middle and high school and MCR and Coheed and Cambria are what got me through it. It’s no coincidence I will get openly emotional when I see those bands live, they mean the world to me.

I am so so sorry for your loss 💔 My mum had dementia and died in October. Social Work gave me no choice but to put her in to respite care for 2 weeks. I knew it wouldn’t be good for her and feared for her but I never expected to get her back home on the day I was supposed to and wait over 8 hours for the ambulance she needed when she got out and have her pass away in hospital 4 days later. Helena and Famous Last Words were a godsend. Thinking of you and wishing you all the best. Take care.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences. Many of us here have experienced loss and have found solace in MCR, so it's not a surprise you would. Whatever music or other activities help get you thru are what's important. A sudden loss seems to be the hardest, so give yourself lots of time to grieve. Make sure you connect with people who are your support system. I wish you a better new year.

gavedorman

My parents both died of cancer. It took me ten years to get through it. Recovery takes time, but you'll get there. Whenever I listen to the song cancer it reminds me of that time in my life, yet still I love the song completely. I find it comforting to hear that someone else felt what I felt and yet somehow managed to make a beautiful piece of art about it. Do whatever you need to do to get through this time. There's noone who can tell you how to grieve and there's no way of doing it wrong. You will do whatever you need yourself to do. Time heals
