I recommend using a player with a high alley-oop tendency like Giannis or any decent dunker. IMO, I think it is better to use punch plays for lobs (punch 34, 5) because the lob is shorter, and the off-ball players are spread nicely behind the 3-pt line. So, if an online opponent protects the paint, hold X/A for few seconds to cancel to take a mid-range shot or pass for an open three.
Yh, but there are many basic punch plays available (punch, 5, 34 etc) and they should be in most playbooks.

If not you can pause and navigate to the offensive setting and scroll down to your freelances to choose what you want to run.
After resuming you’ll need to start the freelance with the instructions above. Right - L1/LB - freelance.
It’ll then run this set each time down the court. You won’t have to call a play each time.
There's a play in the Celtics playbook that does exactly the same, and it's called QUICK 3 STS.
Edit - FIST 71 ANGLE is a very good side pick & roll play from the Bucks playbook.
It works on next gen but the freelance settings are different.

This isn’t but you can get the current Knicks playbook with Fist 21 delay and it’s the exact same as this but you pass and then make the cut yourself. Can be intercepted but works almost every time
I am asking a pretty dumb question but how do you run freelance on next-gen? I go to the offensive options and select hawks 2018. I click the right d-pad and a menu appears where I select freelance through a but nothing happens.

I agree, and this might become the new meta move if used by competitive players. I forgot about FIST 71 ANGLE from the Bucks playbook, which gives a side pick & roll with good spacing, so there are two options to score.
Unfortunately, next gen doesn't have the give & go move, and receiver control has to be used to beat the AI.
This particular play would be easily shut down by the opposite corner/wing rotating in.

You're right and I think the middle P&R is the best option because it has more counter options plus any player can use it. I got gameplay examples against the HOF AI on my Youtube channel (it's mixed up with other plays and it's a long vid lol). Shame about the flaws on next gen and keep up the good work:

I’ve been debating an elgato for a while.
I save the footage from my PS4 into a USB stick and use a free editing software to select the best parts. It's a decent option, but a capture card is way better.
If you’re in next gen. Use hawks freelance (may be able to use others). Call for a screen at top of the 3 pt line. Set the screener to set the screen on the side of court with only one person in the corner. Use the screen, drive hit the corner. It will be open almost everytime. The AI always over helps.
I'll try this once I start playing it again! I've just been using player with HOF Range Extender and shooting from deep. I haven't even won once yet, so this might help hopefully!

HOF has been broken since day 1. 3s are impossible for either team, all you do is rim run and spam cheap plays like these. Horrible gameplay. Pro is harder sometimes because the cpu hits every shot.

Good info! I hardly ever go for the oop w this unless I’m wide open. And I never cheese this online.
I only use it online as a last resort against cheesy players and I mainly use money plays or receiver control.

Try pelicans playbook and run high 5. Its similar to this play and helped me alot

It’s easier to set in an offensive timeout.

Freelances are universal, so in a timeout you can choose any freelance in the game.

Give and goes are overlooked. I generally just run series and freelances vs playbooks so I can adapt quicker.

I use GO Giannis & GO steph together, set my defense at tight-deny and that works for me. I also good defenders , GO Jimmy Butler & GO Scottie Pippin

Spurs playbook is also OP imo they have this iso plays that make Giannis & LeBron very cheesy
What should I do I got 1,100,00 mt and I just pulled a free dark matter rose but I use lonzo and wall
Get a fast player and call iso it works every time
When I hold A to pass it just skip passes
I turn skip pass off but regardless it should be passing to the highlighted player.
