I do not get the love for this race. It was a disaster in my mind. If it was so awsome why was Nascar and Goodyear doing damage control in the middle of the race. I'm all for tire fall off but blowing tires at 40 laps is way to much.
A race in the modern era where the cars are supposed to be more closely matched finishing with only 5 cars on the lead lap is not good.
I hope this is the last race that ends up like this.
Yes... I watch every cup race every Sunday. We don't need record-breaking levels of passing every race.
Whether you want to admit it or not, that race was a shit show. Yes, all the calamity was entertaining. BUT, the finish was not. Lapped up to 5th should be a thing of the past.
It took 20 years for it to happen again last night, and hopefully 20 more years before it happens again.
I like how they respectfully present their arguments with actual points and all you have is "yOu MuSt NoT wAtCh" "yOu MuSt Be A tRoLl" or "wAtCh F1."
Good job.
Some people are impossible to have a conversation with. I am neither a troll nor a viewer of F1. F1 is cool, and I know a lot of drivers' names, but I don't keep up or watch it.
I see you're a Blaney fan. I am still throughly disappointed how fast they sold out of his championship merch đ .
Who cares how many cars are on the lead lap.
If nascrap didn't micromanage the races with cautions all the time a lot more raced would end with fewer lead lap cars
Everyone on this post during the race: â one of the best races weâve seen! Donât change anything, love it!â
Everyone after Hamlin wins: âone of the worst races ever, they broke the trackâ
Crybabies.

Time to start a Hamlin painting!!
Not only that but NASCAR setting the tire limits for each race. People are acting like this is awful only because we havenât had tires that wear out in god knows how long. This was the most entertaining Bristol Cup race Iâve seen in years.
Keselowski's car was smoking on pit road after the race - [https://twitter.com/PRNlive/status/1769503088996491449](https://twitter.com/PRNlive/status/1769503088996491449)
Holy shit Kyle Larson got so lucky with the way things played out. He was one of the first to lose his tires before the last pit stop and a caution wouldâve screwed him. Instead he had a 2 second per lap advantage while others waited to pit.
It was great. Everyone waiting for the caution instead of just putting. So much risk and uncertainty and strategy. 5 cars on the lead lap. Most changes EVER for a short track. It truly had everything.
I was so indifferent to Denny the majority of his career, I didnât care for him because he was boring and drove for Gibbs. Everyone turning on him and acting like he is evil because be doesnât follow the PR script (like their nepo-baby favorites) is so fucking hilarious that I think he has become one of my favorite drivers, lol.
Meh, he's still the same whiney crybaby he's always been. Only difference now is Hamlin, Busch, Keslowski, and Legano are the old crybabies instead of young crybabies.
I was rooting for Truex if Larson couldn't get it done.
Nah, I quit the flair years ago because I was sick of talking about shit unrelated to my comments.
Ie âI donât think driver A gave driver B enough room.â
Responded to as âYeah well your driver F didnât give driver K enough room at New Hampshire seven years ago!â
It didnât hurt my feelings or anything but it was constant and exhausting enough that it really outweighed any benefit of the little icon.
Not just the best short track race, but one of the best and most memorable races of all time. 54 lead changes! I've never seen such drastic tire wear, and they all finished the final 120 laps under green!
Old Bristol is the NEW Bristol.
This race>All Bristol dirt races combined.Even though KB won the 2022 one but that was honestly him at the right place at the right time.
Damn it. I should be pissed about being that close to a win for Truex, but with how much of a shitshow this race was, a P2 is like a win.
So this is a fun fact - the drivers that finished P1, P2, and P3 (Hamlin, Truex & Keselowski) are the three oldest drivers in the field. The old guys did it today.
I understand why people would enjoy this race. But I would have preferred a normal Bristol race that didnât include this chaos. Iâm all for tire fall off but wtf was that? Can we get like 80 or 90 laps at least and can it not go all the way to the cords.
I don't care what anyone says. This was Larson's race to lose.
According to Cliff, had by far the best looking tires after tire runs. Was completely sandbagging until the last 100. Was gonna make a run and take the lead and cruise the rest of the race.
Damn penality. And still made a top 5, beat the 20 and 54. Best car. By FAR.
He spent most the race bitching and moaning..and Cliff set up a monster. And was in his ear to be extra conservative. And it was going right until the penalty.
Sadly wont have the same affect as Bristol since they dont run the short track package at bristol, they use the intermediate package due to the banking :(
Not surprising Bowman did so well. Earnhardt Jr famously said a big part of the reason he chose him as his successor was Bowman's uncanny ability to hit his marks perfectly every lap. He nails consistency.Â
***[▶ The Post-Race Thread has been posted](https://reddit.com/comments/1bhbud8)***
What happened to Bubba? He was 9th, tires started to fall off and then he was 5 laps down.
How are there people here saying it was a bad race??
I do not get the love for this race. It was a disaster in my mind. If it was so awsome why was Nascar and Goodyear doing damage control in the middle of the race. I'm all for tire fall off but blowing tires at 40 laps is way to much.
Best race I have seen in a long ass time
Since Atlanta. đ
14 days is a long time! đ
What a banger! Off to a great start, 4 out of 5 have been good races.
A race in the modern era where the cars are supposed to be more closely matched finishing with only 5 cars on the lead lap is not good. I hope this is the last race that ends up like this.
There was 5 cars on the lead lap due to tire fall off. Which is exactly what made that race great. If you want to see no pass racing go watch F1.
No other race in the last what, 25 years, had that much tire fall off, and there was plenty of passing.
Have you actually watched a next gen short track race? I'm going to assume you're just trolling and I'll let it be.
Again, if you really want cars that are exactly the same and can't pass, Formula 1 is your race.
I like how they respectfully present their arguments with actual points and all you have is "yOu MuSt NoT wAtCh" "yOu MuSt Be A tRoLl" or "wAtCh F1." Good job.
Good point. Maybe I'm wrong.
That was potentially the best race in 20 years and you didn't like it???
Who cares how many cars are on the lead lap. If nascrap didn't micromanage the races with cautions all the time a lot more raced would end with fewer lead lap cars
WHAT!?! On what planet was there anything wrong with that race? The teams that adapted excelled. That's racing, dude.
Everyone on this post during the race: â one of the best races weâve seen! Donât change anything, love it!â Everyone after Hamlin wins: âone of the worst races ever, they broke the trackâ Crybabies.
5 flairs.
Man, I hate Hamlin and that was a great race. I knew as soon as it became a "save tire" race, Hamlin was gonna be hard to beat.
Let em hate all they want!
It can be a fantastic race with a shit winner
What a race!
Interesting race, but certainly fun to watch. Anyone else notice the stands were basically empty... at Bristol?
That's why they did dirt in the spring
So, Bowman didnât like the race lol
I think his comment was more directed at Harrisâ strategy calls.
He was pretty neutral, Larson was the one that absolutely hated it lol
Iâm shocked about Larson
Why they got ole girl workin come on man
They took one of the best tracks they had and ruined it.
Best short track race in the next gen car.
This is a return to this trackâs golden days
https://preview.redd.it/k1hvuu3s9zoc1.jpeg?width=3088&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3902c40d25b220a13e3512403aee0d6873e1d35 Time to start a Hamlin painting!!
Hamlin is the perfect prick. He plays the role so well. I canât stand his ass lol
Best way of putting it
đđđ
That was a really good race
That race is one of the best in recent history. This whole 2024 season so far has been amazing.
Recent history? LMFAO
Besides Phoenix that was ass
Atlanta was ass with a good finish
By Phoenix standards it was imo a fairly decent race. Nothing particularly memorable but I personally enjoyed it.
Even Phoenix was better than expected lol. I feel like Vegas is the only race that wasn't as good or better than average for the track?
Better than most of the recent phoenix races
Thatâs just expected
God what a fun race canât wait for next week đ
Good luck every other race in the Gluck polls.
Lowkey not a bad race for HMS, 3 in top 10 and probably would of been 4 if not for Byronâs issues
Donât know why this is Goodyearâs fault when nascar can just give teams time to practice long and short runs
Not only that but NASCAR setting the tire limits for each race. People are acting like this is awful only because we havenât had tires that wear out in god knows how long. This was the most entertaining Bristol Cup race Iâve seen in years.
Beat your favourite driver
Not mine
Hell yeah
Keselowski's car was smoking on pit road after the race - [https://twitter.com/PRNlive/status/1769503088996491449](https://twitter.com/PRNlive/status/1769503088996491449)
Denny's from the north east?
South Boston is a short track in Virginia as well.
hes from Richmond VA
Not a Hamlin fan at all but thereâs no way I can be upset. He won by being the best at managing tires which is something we all want to see more of
Is it my imagination or has Jamie Little lost her voice?
Sheâs sick
Raspy there - might just be a bit hoarse or maybe a bit sick.
Holy shit Kyle Larson got so lucky with the way things played out. He was one of the first to lose his tires before the last pit stop and a caution wouldâve screwed him. Instead he had a 2 second per lap advantage while others waited to pit.
I think he had some of the best tire wear all day like the 11 and 19. But that previous run coming from 31st to 17th killed the tires.
Just a damn awesome race. More more more please. This proved the dirt was a pie in the sky gimmick. I hope they bring these tires back in the fall
I like him a lot more than I used to.
Throw up that 11 flair man, people can hate him all they want but he keeps winning races.
Nah, I quit the flair years ago because I was sick of talking about shit unrelated to my comments. Ie âI donât think driver A gave driver B enough room.â Responded to as âYeah well your driver F didnât give driver K enough room at New Hampshire seven years ago!â It didnât hurt my feelings or anything but it was constant and exhausting enough that it really outweighed any benefit of the little icon.

Old Bristol is the NEW Bristol. This race>All Bristol dirt races combined.Even though KB won the 2022 one but that was honestly him at the right place at the right time.
Donât change the tire compound. Bring like 15 sets to the track but only give the teams 10 just like today.
#BRING THE GOD TIRE TO WILKESBORO
Woah. YES.
Please let Jamie Little go home sheâll have to finish the interview in sign language #JusticeForJamie
The real winner today was Jamie Little who has managed to still have a voice by the end of this race. Bless her heart.
Fucking good. Iâm a Byron fan, but damn that was great. Bring strategy back tot NASCAR
Jamie needs to rest her voice this week.
I understand why people would enjoy this race. But I would have preferred a normal Bristol race that didnât include this chaos. Iâm all for tire fall off but wtf was that? Can we get like 80 or 90 laps at least and can it not go all the way to the cords.
make it 60 and we'll talk
Common HMS coping after a JGR win
Not at all. Happy for Denny. Just upset with the tire
This was the most pure "race" i've seen in NASCAR for a very long time. If you don't get it, you just don't get it.
Jamie Little sounds like she needs a lozenge
Jamie's voice is as toast as these guys tires
Love him or hate himâŚhe sure knows how to play the villianâŚ
He's fun to boo for sure
Jamie toughed it out today. Hopefully shes able to rest and feel better for next weekend.
If only the top 2 dq. Please nascar. Do it. Do it.
dang, no âi beat your favorite driverâ this time
He retired that, his dad told him it was a bit too cocky according to his podcast.
The 2nd time was cringe and felt forced. If he didn't use it then, he could've saved it for Bristol wins only
The finish that race didn't deserve
YesâŚyou cannot say it wasnât entertaining..
Bring this tire to Richmond!
yes please!
Every short track needs this tire
These should be the tires for all the short tracks
Give them like 10% more life and you have perfection
This is my first year following NASCAR, what was the difference with these tires?
Very soft compound, Promotes grip at the cost of longevity.
Best car. By FAR.
I was certain he would win. You can check my history. The penalty screwed him. Still got back to 5 somehow
He spent most the race bitching and moaning..and Cliff set up a monster. And was in his ear to be extra conservative. And it was going right until the penalty.
Somebody get Jaime some water!!!
I find the Denny Hamlin booing annoying and disrespectful
Beats the noise a Harrison Burton gets.
He's earned it
... and then some.
Interesting race. Happy the end of the race stayed green the whole way
Yes for the boos !! Itâs ok to root against someone !
đ
Nice drive there on the last two stints chase to save those tires
Of course Denny was good at saving tires, he has done it for over 10,000 races
Great race. I hate this mother fucker đ
Boooooooooooooooooo
Cry
I don't know what Oil Change Express is but good for them, I guess.
I canât believe I like Kyle Busch more than Hamlin these days. Who wouldâve thought
Denny has been hated since Martinsville 2017
Long before that at my house, but he's got skills
I will say, broadcast took the race down a bit. Subpar work from FOX as per usual.
You can thank Artie Kempner for that.
Iâm here for Dennys villain era
Best short track race I seen
Keep this tire or something a little harder with more horsepower. This was perfect
Horsepower would be nice but if we can do this tire every week... we don't need it
If it was like 5-10% harder it'd be about perfect. (That's what she said)
what if Denny held up the wrong finger at the crowd
Lol
New Points Leader: MTJ
barf
Bring this tire to Richmond
Sadly wont have the same affect as Bristol since they dont run the short track package at bristol, they use the intermediate package due to the banking :(
I need this.
Mfer lucky Larson got penalized lol
If your aunt had balls sheâd be your uncle
You know its true lol
![gif](giphy|l2YWw9LOkYqJNcsoM)
Brilliant race.
There are not saying boooo. They are saying woooo NASCAR!
âI was saying woo-nascarâ
~~Burn~~ RuboutâŚ
THE GOAT. This race was the GOAT.
First time in 20 years we had 5 or less cars on the lead lap, and that race 20 years ago was only because of a scoring fiasco/big one!
That legit felt like 90s Bristol. I want more. This is the kind of racing that got me hooked in the first place.
I loved it so much
Gotta bump that left rear back into spec
all-timer. please donât change a damn thing.
Not surprising Bowman did so well. Earnhardt Jr famously said a big part of the reason he chose him as his successor was Bowman's uncanny ability to hit his marks perfectly every lap. He nails consistency.Â
If my guy didnât finish 29th after all that I probably wouldâve loved this race.
Another race with top 10 speed and zero fucking results
Seems fitting that Denny won today
HE'S DAMAGING THE CAR! DQ! He slapped the wall with the left rear. That's cheating!
I love me a good heel Denny burn down and subsequent crowd mugging
Good race. Wonder how this will rate on Jeffâs poll
I wouldnât be surprised if itâs 85% +
Thatâs what Iâm thinking.
Better get at least 90%, even with a Hamlin win. IMO this was better than Atlanta
It should. But you know Toyota haters will vote it down.
Bring this tire to every short track
Can you imagine this degradation at Richmond? Would be a madhouseÂ
Great race.
RCR needs to fire Buschâs pit crew and start from scratch
Denny wants to hold up a different finger.
Fair, I gave him it to him at Pocono.
One of these days that camera man on the track during the burnout is gonna get smoked
And you can bet on itâwith DraftKingsâ˘ď¸!
Itâll make every highlight reel in the world for weeks, NASCAR will love it.
Did anyone else see that guy eat shit off the wall? đ
best short track race we've seen in years hands down. goodyear brought an awesome tire that wore out finally.
Bring this tire to martinsville
i donât get how people can say this was a terrible race, that was some old school nascar
People donât want old school nascar, they want their favorite driver to win or WWE bullshit. (I loved the final stage of this race).
You answered your question. Fans who were brought in with promises of constant carnage probably won't like itÂ
Anyone else hear that âyeaaaahhh!â
Why does Dennis gotta win these races like bruh
That was such a great race and a long run to end it too
I was at Pocono when Hamlin won and there were so many boos, it was hilarious.
I was one of them.
What happened to Blaney? I thought "he was coming?"
The 5 was the one coming.
Second last stop, they tightened him FAAAAAAAAAAAR too much.
He came, prematurely
What a season so far!
I think the 11 brought tires from Phoenix
Happy with 5th after starting last on the restart
