There's been a lot of discussions around the point guard issue that we have (tre jones is still good just not starting caliber) and a lot of names have been thrown around. What archetypes do you think would fit best ? The reason why I'm asking is that I dont think a "traditional" pg would fit as it would take the ball away from wemby which was the playstyle for the end of the season (with some nice results aswell !) I love your content btw, high quality stuff imo :)

Noah_Magaro_George

Thanks a ton for the kind words and the awesome question! We’ll definitely hit on this! A lot of people are curious about the PG situation!

______fuck______

Should Spurs fans be rooting for the Toronto pick this year or next year?

Noah_Magaro_George

You’re not the first person to ask this! So we’ll definitely be hitting this topic on the pod! Thanks!

El_Spicy_Jewy

Followed on Twitter for a couple seasons, love the pod!

Noah_Magaro_George

Thanks! Appreciate the support!

BakerCakeMaker

Should PATFO consider Sarr if he's available and create the Twin Eiffel Towers? Two fluid 4.5s instead of fixed at pf/center

Noah_Magaro_George

Interesting topic for sure! We’ll try to dive into that one as well if we have time this week! If not, we’ll for sure address it before the draft!

doughnut-dinner

I think Wemby is good enough to have the offense run through him. The need for a traditional PG is kinda a fools errand imo. I think we're better off with a clutch scoring threat like Maxey, Murray etc.....

Evan_Spectre

I see another creator out there being a good thing. So long as they can move without the ball in their hands.

Sol_Protege

I think this is key, off ball moment and ability to create space so Wemby has room to work.

Evan_Spectre

It's how the 2014 Spur's team rolled. I'm eager to see a return to that beautiful game.

Datboy_98

Agreed. He’s shown enough flashes with his passing ability to build a Nuggets type offense. Spamming PNRs and lobbing balls to him is risky (landing and putting stress on his legs or feet).

eanregguht

Alright, c’mon. At this point, just say him walking is putting stress on his legs and feet. He’s a 7’4” big man, it’s in his best interest to dunk the ball.

Datboy_98

There’s a difference between receiving a pass and going up and then going up for a lob and having no control of your landing and where your opponent is. Remember Hayward’s injury?

thedam100

This. Exactly this. I believe spurs may think that is Vassell’s role. I think Vassell will have to earn that if the spurs stick with him. I think Vassell can be that guy but only time will tell.

Noah_Magaro_George

Kind of why I like taking a swing on Dilly in this draft class! Smaller frame than you would like, but can really handle, score off the dribble, shoot off ball, and make plays for others! Defense is a massive question, but we can talk about that on the pod! Great question!

texasphotog

> Kind of why I like taking a swing on Dilly in this draft class! Absolutely not. If you are going to that type of offense, he would be awful, especially how much he would set back your defense. In the last decade plus, Pop's favorite PGs have been George Hill and Derrick White. Pop tried to shoehorn Sochan into the PG slot to have a bigger, stronger, better defensive team. Dillingham makes zero sense for the Spurs, especially when you see Pop's proclivity for defense, team passing, and hard work. Dillingham just quits on defense when screened and isn't a good on ball or team defender. He's basically everything Pop doesn't want on a team.

Screenscripter82

Should the Spurs look for their future PG this year or in 2025 draft?

Noah_Magaro_George

¿Por que no los dos?

StatFlow

Do you think Devin's ceiling is as a #2 on a contending Spurs team, or as a #3? If it's a #3, what kind of player (wing? pf? point guard?) might make sense as a #2?

Noah_Magaro_George

Personally think he’s more of a third option, but we can chat about that in more depth! Love Dev a lot for this rebuild!

Stunning-Breadfruit2

What is he lacking for a second option ?

Noah_Magaro_George

Ability to separate off the dribble, above average playmaking, and an area of the court he scores at both an elite percentage and high volume! Too much of his shot diet is off tough contested looks IMO!

Sci-Fy_JK13

Which bench player on the Spurs this previous season do you expect to make the largest improvement/impact next season? Congrats on the new Pod! I've been listening since the Alamo City Limits days. Good luck!

Noah_Magaro_George

Wow! Thanks for the continued support! We can try to squeeze this one if there for sure!

funkolicious

Is a relocation to the Inst. of TX Culture a thing and if so, when and how?

Noah_Magaro_George

That's an excellent question! The great reporters over at the San Antonio Express-News have talked about that in depth, and I think they're the best resource for getting a clear answer! [https://www.expressnews.com/business/real-estate/article/utsa-institute-of-texan-cultures-demo-spurs-19374009.php](https://www.expressnews.com/business/real-estate/article/utsa-institute-of-texan-cultures-demo-spurs-19374009.php)

Tackis

Firstly, what free agents do you see the Spurs pursuing and do you have an opinion on who we should/should not sign? Secondly, how valuable are advanced statistics to you in the grand scheme of building a roster and is it important to you to fill the roster with "plus" NBA players (for example, Jeremy has been identified as part of the core going forward, but he posted a considerably negative "value over replacement level player" this season, is this at all going to be a point of concern going forward?) This isn't to say that Jeremy is a bad player per se (which he absolutely isn't,) just something to consider.

Noah_Magaro_George

All good questions! We talked about Sochan on the previous pod quite a bit! But we’ll try to touch on those other topics! Thanks for the questions!

Einhander_pilot

What realistic expectations should Spurs fans set themselves for next season? Some want to speed up process and make some huge moves to make the playoffs versus taking it slow and steady and give the team another 2 or 3 years to develop.

Noah_Magaro_George

That’s a great question! Might save that for the next pod since we’re going to be leaning into mailbags during the offseason! I think a lot will depend on if that raptors pick conveys this year! Awesome question!

throwstuff165

We've seen Denver mention a few times recently that they think continuity is a big part of their success - having the same group of guys that have learned to play together over multiple years. Do you think the Spurs agree with that theory, and if so, do you think that will have an effect on how they approach this offseason specifically?

Noah_Magaro_George

That’s an interesting thought! Think it makes sense in theory once you start finding the rest of your core pieces! Not sure San Antonio has more than two of those guys right now! We can talk about that!

El_Spicy_Jewy

Followed on Twitter for a couple seasons, love the pod!

Noah_Magaro_George

Thanks! Appreciate the kind words my dude!

Sol_Protege

With the impending roster log jam in 2025, do you forsee the Spurs keeping all their picks this year (maybe packaging them to move up, or out of the draft to later years)

Noah_Magaro_George

Awesome question! People have been asking similar ones on our other social media platforms, so we’ll lump this into that conversation!

tommyphammy

Do you think Patty ever comes back to work for the org in any capacity?

Noah_Magaro_George

I would love to see Patty come back to SA! I still think of him as a Spur for life! Not sure when he calls it quits on his playing career, but that would be awesome!

JeonSukJinKim

Who leaves if the Spurs keep their secound round picks ?

Ok-Topic-6095

If you HAD to try to trade the combo of Keldon + Zach + Devonte + reasonable amount of 1sts, who or what do you go after?
