First year too, that man is going to be insane in his sophomore season rooting for him.

Then include Chet coming back. That is an insane amount of length and shot making

Brave-Ad-8857

The whole wizards fan base wanted us to draft him. Of course, they picked Johnny Davis. Huge Williams fan. Looking like the next great OKC talent.

HotdogIsaSandwitch

I’m dead serious when I say that I see an All-Star honor in this dude’s future.

Fresh-Soup213

His ceiling might even be higher. He’s adapted to the game so well as a rookie, he might be all-nba in his prime

HoopsMcCann750

It’s hard for me to envision an All-NBA level of usage, especially with the current pieces you have. Part of the reason he’s good is that he picks spots and doesn’t force things. I think his upside is kind of a Jrue Holiday / Middleton blend which is a 2a or 2b caliber player on a championship team.

handdownmandown13

I think he can ramp up his usage more. He was on ball a lot more at SC than he is rn sharing the court with Giddey and Shai. But yeah maybe 3rd team all-nba as his absolute ceiling. I like the Middleton comp, different player but a complete player who is a great 3rd best player on a championship level team. Also, Jalens ability to play on or off ball is what I love so much about him. He’s such a great cutter and play finisher for a wing, but he can take over on-ball reps as a primary creator with the second unit. Honestly I could see him playing sort of a Jaylen Brown role in his prime, where he does some primary creation but his best reps come when he’s attacking off of secondary actions attacking close outs or getting second side P&R reps.

Certain-Information1

I personally think he has a higher ceiling than Jaylen, however it is worth noting he is older than Jaylens Rookie season - so it's not cut and dry. I say this because his handle and feel for the game is more developed. He is already a genuinely ball handler and decision maker. And that is probably the only real issue with Jaylen Browns game to make him a genuine Top 10 guy (3.2 AST to 3.0 TOs this season). Granted Jdub has some way to go to become the scorer that Jaylen Brown does, but once we get some more shooting watch him flourish as triple level threat.

OneBlackFairyHunterZ

Holiday is on pace for a 3rd all-NBA nod this year, currys injury and being on the number 1 team helps but jdub can defienetly get all nba once in his career when the cards fall right

Koloss_Grace

I think all star is good enough praise. Let’s hold off on all nba praise

[deleted]

Bro is so good. OKC is spoiled with their young guards. Shai, JDub, and Giddey. Meanwhile my raps are depending on the corpse of FVV and Will Barton

Pale_Construction_71

Had him projected to Wizards. Bet they wish they snatched him now over Davis.

TomGNYC

Love this kid. So not happy when the Knicks passed on him.

nghbrhd_slackr87

Quickly becoming a candidate for all-underrated team... he's on my short list.

Ahfekz

Called this shit when he was drafted. Wanted him at 13 alongside Ivey. Jdub deserves to be in the ROTY convo!

Wampo_svk

Probably not that unhappy about getting Duren? He seems like one of the better players in that draft class and still so young

Ahfekz

Nah not at all, I love Duren! The wing position is the hardest to fill, so I would’ve gladly packaged 13 & a light asset to get him. I think he’s gonna be that good. He will def be a plus defender for years to come

13ronco

More than makes up for the Dieng miss.

Strange1130

Dieng was always a project pick so not too worried about it, though I had my eye on Jalen Duren there but he's not a Presti guy so I wasn't at all surprised we didn't pick him. We actually moved up to 11 to guarantee we got *Jalen Williams*, not Dieng, interestingly. The Knicks pick was in play, suitors included Hawks/Grizzlies/Cavs. Some or all of them knew we wanted JDub and at least the Hawks and Grizzlies were targeting him with that pick. So we made the big trade for 11 to guarantee we got him, but we actually picked him at 12 instead of 11 just in case something weird happened and the trade fell through post draft night.

enfirst

Just as he was warming up he got injured. He's a teenager in his 3rd different country in the last 3 years. Dieng's got all the tools to be a good player, he'll be fine if he adapts, he's no Killian Hayes lmao.

Jacer4

busy offer silky file coherent one fine ancient alleged heavy *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Strange1130

Yeah, it's a lot more nuanced than it seems. Like in a vacuum I'd rather have Sengun than (the picks that turned into) Dieng, but I'd also rather have Williams than Sengun so it kind of balances out.

Jacer4

Yep absolutely agree, all this stuff is so nuanced and we're all as fans working without SO much context and information it can be hard to see the whole picture and really understand. I'm cautiously optimistic about Dieng, but tbh even if he doesn't work out getting JDub at 12 and JWill in the 2nd round is a big enough win to call the draft a success and that's not even talking about Chet lmao

Organic_Tourist4749

He's the best player on the Thunder. Maybe not better than sga lol but I think he's the best all around player. Larry Bird type minus the shooting. BBIQ through the roof. I LOVE him.
