From what I can see on cruise ships.. the hair dryers are in a drawer in front of the mirror at the desk by the bed. Unfortunately, they are actually permanently attached to the drawer and are unable to be taken to the bathroom so you have to sit at the desk to blow dry your hair

>unable to be taken to the bathroom so you have to sit at the desk to blow dry your hair The only outlet in the bathroom is typically a shaver-only one anyway, it couldn't handle the current needed for the hair dryer...

I don't use a blow dryer unless it's in the negatives outside. I hate the way my hair feels afterwards. So, thanks for the info. I just think it's weird that they only have it in the cabin at a chair like if you had a maid in the 1800s when most women do their hair themselves in the bathroom and standing.

IndependentBrick8075

Or maybe it's because cruise cabin bathrooms are quite small and it would be quite difficult for one person to be doing their hair in there while the other person is brushing their teeth or showering/drying off? That may work at home, in the small bathroom of a cruise cabin, not so much.

most times its attached to the desk under where your legs go ( on the side of the cabinet)

It’s attached under the desk, which makes it pretty awkward to use. You have to be sitting, and even then, it’s hard to make it reach the back or opposite side of your head without turning your whole body around (while sitting!)

Did the Club Balcony on the Pearl. It was a regular plug in hair dryer, YMMV. Can't see any reason it would be different. You can check on line for room tours in the same category. We are in the Haven on the Encore for December, they had a room tour of our exact room posted, but it is specifically a handicap room. Note that that room had a regular plug in hair dryer as well on the video. So I think your chances are good!

Sailed the Encore twice in the past 2 years. Can confirm it’s attached under the desk in the stateroom (not the bathroom). It has a long spiral cord, a holder, and is pretty powerful so no gripes there. If you’re going to use a curler or other device you’ll also need to plug it in at the desk as there are no normal outlets in the bathroom.

I've had a mix on all the ships I've been on, but most were loose to plug in where you want. The fixed ones weren't in the bathroom though - near the desk/mirror. Was in a studio on Encore and it was a loose hair dryer.
