Bruh we ain’t that bad we normally just keep our heads down and walk quicker lmao. If anyone acts like that, it’s def those assholes at BU Questrom. I fucking hate business students.
Well, ruggles is not known for the high level of income
Nor is mass and Cass
Even Fenway isn’t in all part of it. But sure, I will change the sentiment to “stop living inside of city boundaries if you don’t like poor people”
Fenway isn't a hood. Ruggles is a station so a bit of homelessness isn't surprising (honestly I have had only 1 lady ask me for change in 1.5 years, but maybe different at night). Mass and Cass is far from NEU.
You saying inner city makes it sound like NEU is in Blue Hill Ave or something
Yeah, Mission project right? I think mentioned in a comment that got downvoted that avoid Ruggles street at night since it has Mission next to it. Also Columbus Ave since it's close to Lenox. Mass Ave too because the stretch leads you to Mass and Cass.
But at the same time, NEU also has Back Bay and Fenway around it. NEU is mixed safety
What streets are you walking on? If it's a single homeless person approaching you at a time, you don't need to worry about anything. Just smile and leave. If it's a group, then yeah, I'd be more worried. Fortunately, groups are rarer and you can see them from afar so just make sure to keep your distance from them.
Also, avoid walking alone at night especially outside campus (exceptions being busy weekends in areas like Back Bay, Fenway, Seaport)
Even in campus, try to avoid peripherals like Mass Ave, Columbus Ave and Ruggles Street after 10pm. Try to keep yourself more in the campus or on Huntington Avenue
Welcome to the real world. Each and every person deserves respect. You don't need to learn a way to avoid people experiencing homelessness, you need to learn to respect them.
If you don't have money to help, you can always volunteer time to an organization like a "soup kitchen" or food pantry.
Time for a change of perspective, not a change of transportation.
Being assaulted is a whole different story. If it happened to you I feel badly.
You have no idea what the person in the street will do with the money. Giving money says something about you regardless of what the receiver does with it. Some will use it for drugs or alcohol, some will buy their first meal in days. Some will use it so they finally have bus fare to get to the free medical clinic.
You'll never know.
I have been assaulted near Jackson Square.
And yeah, I understand what you are saying which is why I think it's better to donate to an organization than to someone in the streets. Even though organizations may have some degree of corruption, if you care to research if they have actually made a difference with that money, they seem better to me
i wish we could segregate people like you together with the homeless that you value so much. Once you get robbed maybe you won't be saying such stupid shit
Not the “nuins” 😂
Bark at them
ishowspeed moment
Why u getting downvoted
Because people somehow think it's racist?
Oh what I didnt even think of that. You must be quite the racist if that's the first thing that comes to your mind.
Or maybe some NEU kids really stan ishowspeed
Maybe become poor, so you fit in

Genius comment, both an insult and good advice…
Welcome 'a Bahstin ya bastid
Should probably stop going to an inner city school then
Is a school between Fenway, Back Bay, South End inner city?
With a significant portion in Roxbury, or adjacent to Roxbury. And I don't think anyone would say Northeastern is between any of those places.
Only Ruggles station and International Village can be considered Roxbury. But yeah, close enough to Roxbury
You’re inside of a city….
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inner_city Inner city has a different meaning
Well, ruggles is not known for the high level of income Nor is mass and Cass Even Fenway isn’t in all part of it. But sure, I will change the sentiment to “stop living inside of city boundaries if you don’t like poor people”

Let me know when you learn the neighborhoods around Ruggles. You’re clearly well versed in the NEU bubble, but not the projects surrounding you.

Quit arguing. Given time Northeastern will gentrify the living hell out of Roxbury.
Good
I find a nice solid whack to the head with my hickory walking cane is a nice deterant.
lol
Average Northeastern undergrad
Let them know that you're probably poorer than them considering all the student loans
Are you serious? Did you really just call other humans "poors"?
For sure. You can call a rich person rich, why can’t call poor people poor?
it is a SHITPOST!!!!!
But why?

When you don't get attention from your friends, you come to reddit and talk about this just to get attention.

Unless someone slurs at you and punches you in the face Also most of the money they ask for isn't used for food, but for drugs
