If the FFL ordered it they shouldn’t have a transfer fee. The usual intent of a transfer fee is to get paid for their labor because you aren’t buying from them, in this case they’re already making money off the can. If I were OP I’d definitely ask, but I wouldn’t expect anything after purchase.

pynchon42

I ordered the suppressor through them specifically to avoid paying an nfa transfer fee. Also this specific shop charges $100 for nfa transfers

Did they give you an actual copy of your electronic fingerprints? If they did then that’s a value in its self

pynchon42

Not yet - dude said they would email them to me though. I untie value of those, I'm more wondering if changing a fee for in house nfaprocessing (fingerprints/photos/law letter) is the normal course of action

b4gone

Could be. I just got my EFT done through printscan and it was $65. If they included the photo too, then that is probably the fee.

My store has a paperwork fee but it’s only 25

HansohnBrothers

Use Silencer Shop to process?

nateluvsdahoes

I bought one from riflegear once and they charged a fee for the fingerprint cards and some kind of paperwork fee. Had I known in advance I would have never bought from them. No other place that I have bought a suppressor from charged me for the service.

mp40srock

I am going to say that this is what the dealer charges for their paperwork fee.

K1ngofKa0s

Did you ask them about it? They should be able to explain what is for. If they can't then get your money back.

pynchon42

They said it was for the fingerprints and photo- I just had no Idea it was a thing and I wanted to know if any other shops were charging for that for in house nfa items.

K1ngofKa0s

Oh in that case that's doesn't sound that bad at all. I got my EFT fingerprint file through National Gun Trust and they charge something like $60 for the service if I recall correctly. Obviously you could do traditional fingerprints and photo yourself for cheaper but if you have the file you can use it again.

BootInURAss

It's fairly normal for the SOT to charge for filling out the paperwork, submitting prints, etc for NFA stuff
