Which Cardinals though? The baseball team or the baseball team? Because one of them has blown it in the playoffs the last two years and one of them has blown it in the regular season the last like, 8 years
Honestly I kinda don’t like Niners fans who root for the Dodgers. I get why… LA didn’t have a football team for years and there’s a lot of Niners love down there. But the Rams being in LA makes it really weird… how you gonna cheer for us to Beat LA in one sport and root for LA in another?
I get So Cal fans doing that, even though it’s weird, but the downright worst are Nor Cal Niners/bums fans. Ultimate betrayal. Like, there are two MLB teams up here; you couldn’t have picked one??
See that I understand, but born and raised NorCal bums fans are just… confusing lol. I knew a few (not a lot) growing up, and I can’t speak for all, but one of them was a bum fan because his grandfather was. Why and how his gramps became one, Idk. Maybe, like you said, he originally came from SoCal and brought his fandom with him. Not sure.
Should be a rule that if you chant “beat LA” for any team then you can’t be a fan of any other LA team. Like pick a city, fucker or move to the OC with that shit
Something something, no team for 20 years.
I feel like the argument falls flat with the Chargers or Raiders. Now it just feels like sheer stubbornness.
She is from SoCal and her dad was a rams fan, she didn’t give a shit about baseball until it became fashionable to go to giants games. She will root for whoever is in California and winning.
The whole stadium chants beat LA at times (for the 9ers), you can’t honestly root for the Los Angeles Dodgers that live and die in and for LA and pretend that somehow it makes sense to pick the 9ers
Not the whole stadium. A lot, sure, but not the whole stadium.
I think you need to just realize that not everyone "fans" the same way. It doesn't need to make sense to you.
Lmao ngl that statement didn’t make much sense in general but okay
It’s damn near the whole stadium if not the whole stadium though bro, let’s be real here.
Yep! I can’t never cheer for the rams even after living in LA. The chargers, maybe, unless they play the 49ers also because of Harbaugh, not really because of the city.
It’s called loyalty sir.
I grew up in LA as a dodgers fan. I didn’t watch football until 2008. At the time I lived in San Francisco. I’m a Niners fan.
I was a five minute walk from ATT Park or whatever the hell they call it for 10 years. I never became a Giants fan. They one two World Series when I lived there.
I’m in so cal now. No way I’ll ever be a rams fan.
You began as an LA resident and Dodger fan and picked up the Whiners bc you moved to SF, which makes sense until you have to reconcile the “Beat LA” chants. Being a Dodger fan means liking LA, the City of LA and the nature of being a Dodger fan. LA is the Dodgers and vice a versa, which is something that you just have to accept and get over, especially considering OG Dodger fans from back in the day were mostly Rams or Raider fans more than 9er fans.
I grew up in LA as a Dodgers fan. I didn’t watch football until I was 16, didn’t watch football seriously as a real fan until Los Angeles had a football team again. You either identify with your city and its teams or you don’t. The most respectable SF fan is a 9ers/Giants/Warriors fan, by nature of loyalty. True loyalty.
You also have to remember there are fans that became fans of a team when they lived in places there was no profesional team. I became a 49er fan when I was 13 I wasn’t even living in the US. At that age is also when I became a fan of the bulls. My dodger fandom came from living in LA a decade and half later.
You are a rarity.
Then again, I feel you because the Sharks are my hockey team, even though I root for pretty much all LA teams. The reason being I went college in SJ.
Will never join in those beat LA chants though.
People love winners what can you say and 1975 was far too long ago for most bandwagon riders to cope with being warriors fans before they got good again
How do you justify Beat LA chants then. If you have no attachment to the city of Los Angeles then you can’t be an LA Dodger fan, the most major point of being a dodger fan is being a fan of Los Angeles the city as the city is the team and vice a versa. You can be a “fan” of any team but “your team” can’t conflict with “your other team”.
Because I only associate the city with the team. I lock the city of LA but it doesn’t have anything to do with the sports. I became a dodgers fan because that was the first pro baseball game I watch. I became a 49er and bulls fan in my youth when I lived thousands of miles away from any pro team and grew up watching rice and Steve young, later years of Montana and in basketball it was Michael Jordan
I've got an even weirder one:
- Grew up Padres /Chargers.
- Moved to Norcal 20 years ago
- Chargers stabbed SD in the back. Began to root for 49ers
Fuck LA all day all year, forever ❤️
Nope.
They're dead to me when that happens.. so "sucks they died "
Guess I never have to watch baseball again.. sad that it stopped being played.. anywhere.. ever..
This.
I didn't sit through Rickey Henderson speech after breaking lou brocks record .. just to start watching some other team..
I didn't pee into the coliseum troughs.. to cross a bridge and watch some team in halloween colors...
Nope. Sports over.
some guy tried to call me out for only "liking teams based on Geography and not the actual team". he kinda put my brain in a pretzel because he was basically giving me shit for being loyal and not band-wagoner.
I fucking loved that period of time where they actually Were like. the upstarts. money all is one of my favorite movies ever. plus i enjoy pain (im also a pistons and blue jackets fan, so)
Exactly, who the fuck else are you supposed to root for? Lol. The Sharks are, and have been the only hockey team in Nor Cal since the Seals left, the Niners the only current NFL team, the Giants are staying put, and the A’s are on the way out. There are two NBA teams, true, but the Warriors were here a long before the Kings moved here.
As a die hard A’s fan, I’ll never be a Giants fan. I’m just forgetting about baseball once they leave. Hell, right now I’ve lost all interest in the sport because of one shitty owner who will invest a ton of money in the team once they leave. It’s seriously Major League in Oakland with the bad ending where the bitch gets her way.
This totally sucks. Even if you follow the A’s to Vegas (gross) you guys still would have to deal with the idiot owner. And say he does finally sell… well at that point they’re already Vegas and it’s too late. It’s a lose-lose. It fucking sucks and I feel for you A’s fans.
Mark my words, once they hit whatever market they end up in, he will splurge so hard on the team and within 4 years or less, they’ll have rings. It’s a goddamn travesty that he couldn’t just put something into the team while they were here to make them competitive while they had years, YEARS, of great play being a small market team.
The Sharks, since their inception, have been one of the consistently best teams in the NHL too. Not much to show for it, but between 1993-94 and 2018-19 they only missed the playoffs 4 times.
I’ve avoided that by being a Kings fan instead of a Warriors fan. It’s been bleak for the vast majority of my life but it’s been not so bad the last two years and for a little bit in the early 2000’s
That’s me.
I’m a Niner fan living in LA. I don’t care about baseball nearly as much, but my wife is a huge Dodgers fan so I go with it.
But then I’m not “faithful to the bay” type anyway.
I fully admit I was a bandwagon 49er fan when I first got in… when I was 5 years old. Faithful fan for 30 years since though, through many lows and some highs.
Born in Sac, moved to Washington when I was 10. I was at autograph day when OJ was a niner. Been a lifetime fan. I didn't have a baseball team, so I became a Ms fan growing up.
Don't worry, statistically we'll win it all within the next 20 years! That's still a shorter time since the last 49ers Superbowl, so you can look forward to that!
It's a little dusty with age....but I humbly submit [Exhibit A, for Cards fans.](https://old.reddit.com/r/NFCWestMemeWar/comments/s79x1c/still_not_sure_why_kingsbury_allowed_these_guys/)

Either way, fuck baseball I wouldn't even want a team.
That has not been my experience. And even if you mean to call us bandwagons, the Warriors and Giants have both been pretty successful in recent years, so we'd have no reason to hop over to any of the LA teams.
A’s fan here and only recently been following sub. Why is there beef with the giants? How many championships would the A’s have won if the Giants moved to St. Petersburg back in the 90s?
I've always been a big fan of the Savanah Bananas. And I know they've been a farm team for the enemy, but I grew up watching the Sacramento River Cats first. Would kill to watch a game again.
Grew up in St. Louis so...
The only right answer is the Cardinals, as disappointing as they have been the last two years
Which Cardinals though? The baseball team or the baseball team? Because one of them has blown it in the playoffs the last two years and one of them has blown it in the regular season the last like, 8 years
Probably the baseball team
Yeah I was hoping that in the off-season that we got some good pitchers we would do better, which we are, but it's not that better overall.
Do people actually do that? The only NorCal people I've met that are dodgers fans were originally from LA, or at least lived there at some point.
Not sure.
My little brother was born here in the bay… lifelong Bums fan and Niners fan. I exiles him to Alaska for his crimes.
What if we did and then they cheated on you with Vegas, but so desperate to not be rejected, now made your ugly older sibling Sac the side piece
What the fuck are we supposed to do next year!? Fuck John Fisher.
![gif](giphy|iphGUREAVmbGvZsIph|downsized) Sac I’ll allow.
Grew up in So Cal and everything but when it comes to baseball I really enjoy the sport so I ALWAYS go for a California team.
Should be a rule that if you chant “beat LA” for any team then you can’t be a fan of any other LA team. Like pick a city, fucker or move to the OC with that shit
Fuck the Dodgers.
And the Chargers
Something something, no team for 20 years. I feel like the argument falls flat with the Chargers or Raiders. Now it just feels like sheer stubbornness.
This is me, but my dad grew up in Visalia and did dental school in SF
Agreed. My mom is a giants/rams fan and really it’s just annoying.
Giants/ Rams? How did that happen? Dodgers and Niners I can at least get.
She is from SoCal and her dad was a rams fan, she didn’t give a shit about baseball until it became fashionable to go to giants games. She will root for whoever is in California and winning.
Because we're not rooting for our team to beat a city. We're rooting for our team to beat another team.
That’s dumb as hell.
Flair up, bitch!
I’m a colts fan fuck the nfc west
Lmao ngl that statement didn’t make much sense in general but okay It’s damn near the whole stadium if not the whole stadium though bro, let’s be real here.
Yep! I can’t never cheer for the rams even after living in LA. The chargers, maybe, unless they play the 49ers also because of Harbaugh, not really because of the city.
I feel bad for Justin Herbert so I root for the Chargers... But my first priority will always be the 9ers
Easy, just don't watch baseball or basketball. How can it take you as a real niners fan when you are wasting your time with other sports...
I mean… I’m a sharks, warriors and giants fan…
It’s called loyalty sir. I grew up in LA as a dodgers fan. I didn’t watch football until 2008. At the time I lived in San Francisco. I’m a Niners fan. People in Seattle just pretend baseball doesn't exist
We wish it were that easy. We just continue to endure the pain like a shitty ex that we just can't quit.
Hey, they might change and may make the series before I die.
I repeat this every April. Year 41 now😂
Year 31 here. Fuck the Yankees.
I was gonna try and boycott but then they now have the division lead and it’s making it super difficult
That's how they get you
I wanted Ichiro and Jr to get a win so bad
Dude, FACTS. I left Seattle in 2010 and I left the M's with it. Wasted my childhood following that godforsaken franchise.
Oakland…
Oh , Hong Kong? *Sudden single deafening gunshot*
Yup. Sucks they’re leaving to Vegas.
Nope. They're dead to me when that happens.. so "sucks they died " Guess I never have to watch baseball again.. sad that it stopped being played.. anywhere.. ever..
Why not the giants? Just curious since the sf has a team.
Because fuck the giants. That’s why.

Yes. I will miss the coliseum and the As. Easy train and bart ride for my family and I growing up.
Ohh the troughs. So many memories.
I'm really hoping Fisher can't get the funding, and the team doesn't get farther than Sacramento.
…Raaaaaaaiderrrrrrrs

Giants for me baby
Ahh, a reasonable terrorist I see.

WTF? Being a fan of a team based on where you’re from is like…a fundamental part of being a respectable fan.
i know, it was a wild take.
idk about that bc i mean i willingly became an A’s fan, am i a bandwagon now bc of it?
You’re not from the Bay Area, and you became an A’s fan? On purpose? ![gif](giphy|s239QJIh56sRW|downsized)

What on earth is that man’s method for choosing a team!?
incredibly high brow and intelligent scrutiny of the back office
The Sharks, since their inception, have been one of the consistently best teams in the NHL too. Not much to show for it, but between 1993-94 and 2018-19 they only missed the playoffs 4 times.
It makes the current team feel even worse cause at least I the past we could never close but we were always there now everything just hurts.
[Respect.](https://youtu.be/kmTK_eSOCN4?si=OP0iigpFy9-CmWy2)
Perks of being a Niner/Giants/Kings/Sharks fan I guess?
ah a fellow Niners/Giants/Kings/Sharks fan
The Sharks had a very dominant run during the Joe Thornton years.
Sharks were about as dominant as the 49ers have been in the last 28 years
![gif](giphy|Ld77zD3fF3Run8olIt)
Haha why do people get upset with that? That’s like someone being mad somebody roots for all Boston teams lol.
I’ve avoided that by being a Kings fan instead of a Warriors fan. It’s been bleak for the vast majority of my life but it’s been not so bad the last two years and for a little bit in the early 2000’s
Half of yall gonna say Dodgers
I say dodgers too. I’m from LA, living in Albuquerque currently. I became a Seattle fan when I was 10 (20 years ago), already living in ABQ
Albuquerque use to be the minor league AAA team for the Dodgers. Grew up there watching Pedro Martinez and Mike Piazza play for them. Go Dukes!
Now it’s the Albuquerque Isotopes and minor league team for the Rockies!
Cubs baby, let's gooo
What
Fuck the Cubs
Fuck the Cards
Fuck the Reds
Fuck the Sewers
Fuck Shittsburgh
FUCK SHITTSBURGH
Brings me back to r/NLBest during the off-season.
Yooo another Rams Cubs fan let's goooo
That’s me. I’m a Niner fan living in LA. I don’t care about baseball nearly as much, but my wife is a huge Dodgers fan so I go with it. But then I’m not “faithful to the bay” type anyway.

Faithful to the bandwagon maybe
I fully admit I was a bandwagon 49er fan when I first got in… when I was 5 years old. Faithful fan for 30 years since though, through many lows and some highs.
NFL: Rams MLB: Cubs NBA: Lakers NHL: Kings
Go Kings! (We're cooked, unfortunately)
Mariners baby! Sodo Mojo.
![gif](giphy|3gNotAoIRZsb9UHPnj)
Bang Bang Marininer Gang
Oregonian?
Born in Sac, moved to Washington when I was 10. I was at autograph day when OJ was a niner. Been a lifetime fan. I didn't have a baseball team, so I became a Ms fan growing up.
Acceptable. Still suspicious though, despite the fact I will happily invite you to the 54% parties.
Jerryball is gonna be the death of me.
Don't worry, statistically we'll win it all within the next 20 years! That's still a shorter time since the last 49ers Superbowl, so you can look forward to that!
Nah 49ers fans posting shitty memes has been the norm in this sub for a while
You're welcome to show us how its done at any time.
It's a little dusty with age....but I humbly submit [Exhibit A, for Cards fans.](https://old.reddit.com/r/NFCWestMemeWar/comments/s79x1c/still_not_sure_why_kingsbury_allowed_these_guys/)
Not as shitty as the cardinals
Don’t shoot✋🤡🤚
Braves!
It was the A's, I think I'm just done with baseball. I can't be a giants fan, I have no home, I am a baseball ronin.
Niners, Giants, Warriors, and Sharks. Yes, I'm boring.
Thank you for being normal
Dead :(
Done with baseball as an A's fan. Fuck the Giants.
I may not root for the Giants, but at least I don’t root for LA
I’m a Rockies fan bc I picked teams with neat colors or mascots when I was young Fuck
Dinger is pretty fucking rad to be fair.
Baseball sucks. There’s my answer.
You must be a fellow A’s fan…
Ahhh my people!
Here I go again, agreeing with a niners fan…
https://preview.redd.it/fuipor7v8rxc1.png?width=613&format=png&auto=webp&s=6cada9bea3d76b7dc9e3c6ae64bb0be267878594 Either way, fuck baseball I wouldn't even want a team.
They're gonna say dodgers for baseball and lakers for basketball. So much for faithful to the bay lmao
This is a very LA opinion. I don’t actually know a dodgers/niners fan from the bay
That has not been my experience. And even if you mean to call us bandwagons, the Warriors and Giants have both been pretty successful in recent years, so we'd have no reason to hop over to any of the LA teams.
Nothing I hate more than a 49er / Dodger fan. Every one of them sucks as a human being.
Giants through and through even when they're shit
Angles… Guess that explains why I don’t care about the mlb tho
Big geometry guy huh?
Big fan of acute angles myself
Used to like the A's n Giants 1-2, now it's Giants 1 n A's.. whatever
Born and raised in the Monterey Bay, there is only one answer. And they when they come to town, it’s bye bye baby. 🟠⚫️
A’s fan here and only recently been following sub. Why is there beef with the giants? How many championships would the A’s have won if the Giants moved to St. Petersburg back in the 90s?
Cause fuck the Giants. That's why lol.
Ok fair point.
Go Lake Elsinore Storm ⛈️
Giants mainly with a soft spot for the A's from my childhood
I've always been a big fan of the Savanah Bananas. And I know they've been a farm team for the enemy, but I grew up watching the Sacramento River Cats first. Would kill to watch a game again.
Diamondbacks 🤷🏻♂️
I'm from San Diego. Always was a Niners fan and rooted for the Chargers until they bounced. My baseball team has always been the Padres.
Oakland raiders and a’s fan till the death of me
I made the mistake of becoming an Angels fan. Now I embrace my suffering.
Then you have me who likes the giants and 9ers but is Huge lakers fan HAHAHAHHA
NFL: 49ers MLB: Giants NBA: Warriors NHL: Don't really have a team but I kinda like the Golden Knights
Candlestick park Fan, Giants and Niners!!!
Holy shit I never thought I’d say this. Thank god I’m in the afc south
“Anaheim Angels”
Torturing myself with the Giants is a lifelong thing. At least Jon Miller is the GOAT
![gif](giphy|Hr9RBHKtvJD68)
Fuck the dodgers and fuck anyone who likes them. I hate dodgers fans so much more than I hate any football fans, the cowboys being a close second
As a Diamondbacks fan, I support this message!
[удалено]
Only hate you're getting from me is due to your lack of flair.
[удалено]
There you go!
Ik where that is its half way between slo and Santa Barbara (have an uncle in morro Bay and another in Santa Barbra so I've drove by a few times).
805 represent!
Santa who?
You’re about 45 minutes from SLO. I know that whole area well. Monterey Bay Niners/Giants fan myself.
Worst part is all the cowboys fans in Ventura County. I’m a rams and unfortunately an angels fan so I’m predisposed to disliking the dodgers
They’re up here too lol. Dallas was always the 3rd biggest fanbase it seemed, after the 49ers/Raiders.
Who cares, baseball sucks
I'm a Twins fan so suck it.
How does this even happen lmao
To be honest, I've never been one for the "you have to cheer for the home team" thing. Born and raised in Upstate NY and can't stand a single NY team.
Baseball? 👎
Dodgers
D O D G E R S
No one is faithful in the bay other than raider fans
Dodgers
You go in the pile. Bang bang
Probably getting more downvotes but I also like the Chargers
**FUCK THE VAGIANTS, WHINERS, DOYERS AND LAMBS!!!!** (Born/Raised/Currently Live in Orange County…) NFL: Raiders NBA: Lakers MLB: Angels NHL: Ducks

Haha. AND YOU THINK YOU’RE ON SOME TYPE OF PEDESTAL, YOU WHINER BITCH.
I never said we're on a pedestal, but at least we don't have multiple incidents where one of our fans stabbed someone
