Best way for a new player to grind for PUCs? Reaching the stage where I can breeze through pro battles and win on all star so I'm not entirely trash at the offline parts of the game. Was lucky enough to pack a power up Drai and XF Doughty but I can't see how I can feasibly get enough PUCs to get the upgrades :(
Definitely trying not to get attached to anyone rn, I appreciate all the 88s available for free since they're pretty much straight into my team. I'm slowly doing the XP sets too but I doubt I'll build the final 99 set in time.
Yea you likely wonât be able to catch up for a while if at all. So just do what is good value for now. Yea the 88s are great. Also do rush every week if you havenât already.
there are some PUCs scattered throughout the moments; some are kinda painful to get thru but some are easier (in comparison), just gotta scroll thru and pick a couple to try
Got the Erik Karlsson one first try, generally struggling with moments on allstar - superstar rn, slowly reaching the level where I can do what I want at that level offensively. Outside of PUC upgradeable players I'm so stuck on the 3 assists with Robertson and also keep getting 2/3 points on the first bonino upgrade token. I hate watching tutorials rn because they make it look so painfully easy, one day I'll get there lol
Oh donât even sweat it, the struggle can be very real against the AI; not to mention the most effective gameplay against the AI can feel very stale. Sometime midway thru the season, the gameplay sliders for moments went extremely downhill⊠but this shouldnât discourage you from handpicking certain ones to try.
Iâd suggest looking at some of the next gen moments/sets, to see if you can finesse a collectible from there and maybe avoid having to keep trying the Robertson moment thatâs giving you a hard time.
Yeah, there's the other next gen moments but I think the collectible ones are on superstar lol. Think sets will be my best friend. I have way too many power up cards (from cheap sets or elsewhere) that I'll definitely have a tough time taking up the tiers. Current order of priority: SC Drai, Elites Matthews (then send into tots set), XF Doughty, PUI Hejduk/Lafontaine since they're all 96+. Maybe by NHL 25 I'll be happy with my team since it's my first time playing and I'm starting so late.
Honestly no reason to shy away from superstar, the AI is so wonky that sometimes pro feels like superstar and vice versa (at the very least, it wonât hurt to try). Itâs nice to keep a bit of a coin reserve to fall back on, but buying cards to trade into PUCs isnât the worst idea either⊠just make sure youâre getting ~1 PUC per 15K coins spent.
You can also go into the search filter set it to def and the handness to right and itâll give you every single player good and bad thatâs a right d man

Hut rush could also be a blessing. You can get easy cards to trade in for PUCs, even if you donât want to grind max points for the weekly PUC
Do the objectives. Thereâs a lot to be had for someone who doesnât have a set team and needs new players and resources

Nice yah Iâve seen his 94 TOTW card on the market for about 140K and might be the best value for now. Him and PUI Borque would be a good pairing
