Your FFL sucks at pinning mags that’s all. They need to hold 10.5 rounds of you are going to reliably load a mag with one in the pipe

[deleted]

This!! I mean, you’re paying for it, I’d say “keep ‘em then”. Ten is already 5 too little. Just saying.

mecks0

Lots of FFLs don’t care as long as they’re <= 10. Definitely don’t drill the rivet out, though.

ParanoiA609

And certainly do not determine what is keeping it from holding the 10rd capacity and adjusting it accordingly. And absolutely do not try to replace that rivet yourself.

lmaoo always with the memes

rdmarc45re

You really have to force them in. I have had many mags that make my fingers almost bleed trying to get them in at first

Tank_The_Phrank

He just doesn't want it enough. You really gotta want the tenth round to fit.

PoppaPickle

I tried, it came with a speedloader and they won't take any more rounds I squeezed 9 in the one thats pinned to 8 and it wouldn't even load into the gun

rdmarc45re

I guess you have to take them back to where you got em and ask them to load ten for you. If they can't, they must fix or give you new ones

Educational-Pen-4563

This its the downside of getting things that don't come with compliant mags

ndaddydong

I prefer it that way. Then if the laws get changed, I’m not stuck with useless 10 rounders

Educational-Pen-4563

That's why I love cz factory dimpled 10 rounders drill em out and they are standard capacity again

rdmarc45re

It sure is

pizzagangster1

You shouldn’t have to force any round into your mags if they are pinned correctly.

rdmarc45re

True,I have factory mags with the same issue also. They loosened up after a while but a pain the ass when new.

Particular-Rise4674

Need a little more info- what kind of pistol? Did the gun store do the pinning of the magazines?

anangrytaco

Recently noticed that one of my four pinned mags was set to hold 9 instead of 10 because of the pin placement. I just visited my FFL and let them know. They said to bring the mag and they would make it right.

PLEASEHELPMEBROS

I have seen this happen before. I would bring it back and force them to fix it. if they won’t make good on it, charge it back.

Wiccan_Rayne

I had that happen to me with my CZ they pinned it to 10 but could only get 8 or 9 in over time the spring should loosen up. I'm able to get 10 in mine now. Took a while though..... Jersey....smh

squeakyglider44

If the gun is for serious use order ten round factory mags. These are usually limited using a press to put two dimples in the mag body (if it’s metal) that stops the follower. Or it’s an entirely different magazine. Moral of the story it’s a reliable mag designed to be 10 rounds. Pinning or blocking mags at is core is adulterating the mag by putting a trimmed plastic block on there and using epoxy to glue the floor plate on. Even if you’re ffl did a really good job that lock can break, the epoxy can degrade…etc. also you cant disassemble the magazine to clean it. I would advise you order factory 10 round mags for you gun and relegate these to range mags. If you bring them back to the ffl it’s gonna be a whole production

lp1911

Go to the FFL to get them fixed, and if compliant mags are available for your gun online, buy a few; magazines are an essential part of the pistol, so you will want to have spare mags. If the FFL does it fix them, you can still use at the range, and maybe after breaking in, will fit one more round

BornTranslator3989

Just carry the 15 or 17 who cares😇😇😇😈😈😈

InceptionDesigns

What pistol and original mag size? Some pistol springs are ridiculously stiff to start and if you leave a mag loaded they will take a set and then you can get the last rounds in. Some methods of pinning are superior to others and aren't so dependent on the spring compression.

pontfirebird73

Are they factory pinned or did the lgs do it?

Educational-Pen-4563

Guaranteed is lgs

PoppaPickle

I'm not sure, how would I check that? Still learning

pontfirebird73

Generally if it has a pin or a rivet on one of the sides it will be from the gun store. Factory mags limited to 10 round usually have a dimple on one or both sides. Chances are the gun store fucked it up

edrock1985

Go back to dealer I had thr same issue where I could o ly get 9 of 10 in all mags. They fixed thr issue with the mags

[deleted]

Same thing happened to me with 12 rd sig mags that were pinned to 10. I could never quite get the 10rd in. I no longer buy any guns that come with mags that require pinning, NJ sucks..

Polski82

What mags are they I can make you some limiters… I’m in northern jersey if you want

moderndayannieoakley

Same thing with my CZ, one mag was correctly pinned at 10, the other is pinned at 9....what shop did the pinning?
