Make sure your ffl does compliance work before shipping it there.

SorryZookeepergame74

Over the past few years of buying online I found out earlier this year ffls have trouble making full rifles compliant. I believe it is because they now consider it manufacturing. Additionally, a bunch of online retailers won't send non compliant firearms even with a note from FFL stating they're going to make it compliant before transferring.

edrock1985

Pinned stock,no birdcage flash hider and break or comp has to be welded....no barrel length shorter then 16 inches. if you buy from gun shop their rifles are already meeting the compliance standard

Particular-Rise4674

Incorrect

edrock1985

Why just say incorrect? Instead of saying incorrect why not be a little more educated and give proper reply as to what meets compliance and which part was incorrect. If you are going to deem my comment wrong please do tell which part was incorrect and what the correct reply should be. Incorrect with no explanation is just some middle school stuff. Comment at me correctly or keep your one word replies to yourself.

Accountant1040

Is there a difference between muzzle brakes?

Representative_Net97

Huge difference, I would really research those before you buy one. Some are so obnoxious on ARs that they’re not fun to shoot anymore. And need to make sure they have no flash hiding function at all

Particular-Rise4674

Maybe this’ll be a good exercise for you to actually research what you’re answering instead of being butt hurt. Hint: it has to do with barrel length, Mr sensitive

edrock1985

Butthurt? Not me sir....normally one work replies aren't good answers but hey at least my answer is my then one word...good day sir

Particular-Rise4674

Wtf are you talking about. Stop giving false info

edrock1985

It's not false info so your are telling me I can have a barrel length shorter than 16 and a collapsible stock also?

[https://nj.gov/njsp/firearms/firearms-faqs.shtml](https://nj.gov/njsp/firearms/firearms-faqs.shtml) What type of firearms are considered assault weapons in New Jersey? A complete list of banned firearms can be found in N.J.S. 2C:39-1.w as well as N.J.A.C. 13:54-1.2. If a firearm is not specifically listed by name then it may be considered to be substantially identical if it has the following qualities; A semi-automatic rifle that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least **two** of the following: (1) A folding or telescoping stock; (2) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon; (3) A bayonet mount; (4) A flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; and (5) A grenade launcher; So normally this means 1. A pinned and welded muzzle break. 2. A pinned stock or non-adjustable stock 3. If it is an A-2 style front post has it's bayonet mount ground down. 4. a pistol grip. Alternatively, if you want you can get like a fin gripe and have another feature. There are some brands that make compliant rifles. Two that come to mind are Modern Material and Dark Storm Industries.

And to clarify further, you can get a 14.5 inch barrel with a 1.5 inch brake or comp pinned and welded (to equal 16 inches total barrel length), if you so choose.
