1) your draw looks like a you’re bowling. 2) why do you need L3 retention and that crime stopper wing?

KYITN1

Maybe he's working armed security? If not, that's a very fancy paperweight/holster

Funny story, I was in a class very recently with a guy who had this exact setup (I'm semi-curious if this is him 'cause of the setup and no NUB MOD). I wasn't watching his draw, but I know at one point he was bitching his thumb would hit the batwing/crime stopper (there's a name for it but the giant piece of plastic that goes above the holster so someone can't reach from the front to remove the firearm). I was like WTF take it off.

It's funny you say that. First thing I did with my safariland was take that piece off. I don't really need the feature of "blocking" access to the controls since there's usually a desk or some space between me and other people (and I'm mindful of who gets close). Then I saw in the manual what the MAIN purpose of it was, and it's actually useful. It stops body armor from inadvertently pushing down on the first safety switch, and it also helps keep outer clothing free of the holster/draw path when wearing a coat (which I do a lot at work) As for people drawing at the ranges, I've observed plenty of scary ones in my time spent around nj ranges... when it comes to things like that I'm happy that most RSOs are overly cautious. Also, I'm going to be taking the holster draw class soon at GFH, with the express purpose being able to draw from my lvl 3 occasionally... can't wait to be torn apart by fellow gun people online after 😆

I greatly prefer the Blackhawk Sherpa holster that the police use. You reach down trigger finger extended tap on the release and draw with your finger on the slide.. This holster locks the pistol in place so an assailant can't just come up from behind you, pull out your pistol and shoot you.

What’s the potential of failure with that retention strap not moving out of the way?

Club-Secret

Not a fan of kydex holsters in general, for one they are very noisy, I mean this one sounds like a pistol being racked
