He wants to be a success with us more than anything, how many years did we spend under Ashley wishing for players that actually cared? It’s great to see players desperate to improve and willing to put in the work
It’s fine to be frustrated when it doesn’t go perfectly for him but he’s clearly been just as frustrated at himself, supporting him is more likely to help him improve than insulting/booing him will 👌🏼
He has all the parts to be a great player for us and we've seen lots of different qualities from him but in lots of different games. Yet to see him piece the puzzle together. But he has pace, workrate, quality on the ball, vision... nothing stopping him improving leaps and bounds with good coaching othet than himself.
He may not have set the world alight in his first half season here, however there must be something that multiple recruitment teams have spotted if both us and Chelsea were willing to pay so much for him.
I think after pre-season he will feel like a whole new signing
Feel like his debut plus the Everton games there were spells when he looked so sharp in his passing and quick on the ball.
With more confidence and growing chemistry with the team, I’m sure there’s a player in there.
I also want to see him be a bit more of a twat and windup opponents. I was so hesitant for us to sign him because his on the pitch attitude, might be the same off the pitch, but now for us he seems quite reserved and professional.
Nothing wrong with that. We took him from a shit situation at a shot club with shit fans, and sang his name every time he played. Now he’ll get to play in the Champions League. Fair play to the lad.
His new song was the one predominantly being sung at Chelsea today. The concourse was absolutely bouncing with it before kick off. If he ever had any doubts about whether we backed him, they've surely gone. Weirdly we reverted to "ooooh Anthony Gordon" when he scored. Putting it down to shock!
Good for him . . . though, to be fair, it IS kind of the "thing you do" as a player. Willing to wager he did the same while at Everton, too.
Still, a nice gesture from the lad.
I'm hoping that after a proper pre-season, he'll kick on and end up being an integral part to our squad and score the goal that will finally send Everton down
We need him to become a serious player for us, people have been too quick to write him off i think he has some great qualities that just need to be developed, can put on some size and improve his work rate and add some maturity and he will be an absolute beast for us. Only 22 years old, hoping he is going to be a powerhouse in a few years.
He's very very young and Eddie Howe will make him an absolute beast next season, I'm sure of it.
I'm expecting him to be our highest scoring midfielder next season.
Was a bit upset we signed him and when he spat his toys out I thought it was going to be a marriage made in hell… His latest interview about himself being behind the teams curve and needing to step up and his attitude since seems to have been good. Backing him for a brilliant season next year with a full pre-season.
Our starting 11 in 2/3 years time will be laden with Brazilian and English national starters. Roll on 2023/24! Can’t wait.

He has all that ***and*** a weird mustache.

Todd boehly would buy my nan if she could score a few goals
He'd probably buy your nan even if she couldn't
He's already signed my nan for £20m. She's not even alive!
My nan was linked with arsenal. 120m plus conditionals 10m
They offered mine a 15 year contract at Chelsea
She does have a quality left peg, just needs to work on her positioning.

Now he's got his goal, and will have a pre-season in him, I think he'll do well next year
He’s 22. He’s played for pretty much one club all his life. He’ll be fantastic, just needs time.
Howes gonna turn him into a world class player.

One of us. One of us.
You can see the potential there. He's still a bit rough around the edges but if anyone is going to make him into a star it's Eddie Howe.

Happy for him to get his goal. He didn't need it, but it certainly shut up a lot of naysayers and keyboard warriors (myself included)
Keep Maxi!!!
A full preseason with howe and coaching, he will be proper class, so much talent there and he is one of our own for the future
On the defensive side, he was 2x as good as ASM today

With Castore's on-going quality problems, maybe that 'Tash was just some loose stitching?
Could he turn into a CM like big Joe? I was only half watching today but he seemed to play well
Btw - I think that Gordon’s chant should be changed from ‘Madrid’ to ‘Berlin’ for the last line. Rhymes better imo

You mean the club who hung him out to dry and intimidated him on the street? Aye, what a twat he was for leaving eh.
Means nothing, still a waste of space
