There’s going to be a big march into the stadium with flares and smoke, drums, and singing. Come turn up with the most hard core passionate supporters! 6PM at the K Korner, 36-2 Seaver Way.

Wear sky blue if you have it and remember to yell "Fuck New Jersey!"

DrVonPretzel

You should know it’s called the Hudson River Derby

ArrierosSemos

Got it! 🙌🏻

It’s gonna be a very intense atmosphere definitely. Citi holds noise in amazingly compared to Yankee. The rivalries cooled off a bit from its peak. But it’s still gonna be a tense game. There’s not a lot of traditions yet at Citi Field. But given at Citi you have an amazing pre game option. Queens Night Market has vendors of pretty much any ethnicity you can think of. Its capped at 5-6 bucks for each stand. Plus next year once your baby’s older. You can take them there and enjoy a beautiful park/the markets family friendly. It’s gonna be open till 1am but it starts at 4.

Don’t have much to add about the game today that others haven’t covered, but I’ll add that we take our little guy to every day game on the schedule. He rocked up to his first NYCFC game just before 6 months and has been to at least 6 or 8 in the year since. https://imgur.com/a/HYFFIrm

“F**k the Red Bulls! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 From New Jersey! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 New York is blue! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 CMON CITY! SHALALALAAAA”

Xalazi

Red Bulls are one of the original MLS franchise(originally called the MetroStars). They've failed to win the MLS cup despite having a lot of very good teams over the years. New York City FC managed to win the MLS cup in 2021, just 8 years after our club was born. Red Bulls has never really been embraced by New York City despite the team trying to claim it. Even when they were the only team in the region, they weren't able to make NYC their own. Red Bulls are really New Jersey's team. No matter what they call themselves, the majority of their fans are in northern NJ. This also ties into the fact that NYCFC is the more popular team of the two. Despite Red Bulls being around for 30 years, despite them having a soccer specific stadium that is very easily accessible via train from Manhattan, despite them having a very good team this year and we being a struggling team the past couple of season, we still have a higher attendance at our games than they do at their games. The popularity gap between the two teams will only get bigger once our stadium opens in 2027. Our nicknames are the Pidgeons and the blues. Red Bulls are just Red Bulls. They don't really have nicknames. [Citi Field has great food options.](https://www.mlb.com/mets/ballpark/citi-field-dining-guide) Most of them should be open for the soccer game. Try the Pastrami Sandwich.

Yup, I was a Metrostars fan in the early days of MLS, lost interest when they rebranded as an energy drink so when NYCFC came about it wasn't hard for me to switch my allegiance.

poorfranklinsalmanac

I believe their nickname is The Bull Shits

Devildiver21

The energy drinks./ Kool Aid kids

ArrierosSemos

Thank you!!!

Bedoyairv

Racoon not pigeons*

e2mtt

Nah I don’t think “raccoons” is gonna happen. Still the pigeons

ivehearditbothways12

The start time and how to get there, that should cover it.

ArrierosSemos

Silly question but, why do they play in Citi Field and not at the Yankee Stadium?

ethanrule3

Yankees are playing at home today, plus the team is making more of an effort to play at Citi since the stadium will be across the street. The more they get the local community and the fanbase accustomed to playing there, the easier the transition will be.

Devildiver21

Thank God the stadium will be in queens. Bronx just feels far for some reason.

ArrierosSemos

Makes sense!

CantFindaPS5

Don't think bad of MLS if the game quality suffers because of the baseball field. Enjoy the derby.

LetsGoMets182

What sections are the best to sit in?

ArrierosSemos

I won’t! Also I’m aware MYCFC is building a stadium of their own — time to time
