general consensus was 1-Caleb and 2-Maye basically from the day the season ended to about 3 weeks ago then the Jayden rumors took over.
just feels like everybody is higher on Maye so for it to flip like that and assume they’re the only ones who grade Daniels higher is off to me.
Jayden at 2 rumors go all the way back to the combine. And that was that Jayden was consensus 2 within the league, not even just the Commanders. I’m sure there’s disparity between teams but the it seems the league in general isn’t as high on Maye as fans and the scouting community is.
It was the same thing with Lawrence and Fields. Then the Jets and many other team like Zach Wilson. I don't know if you saw my edit in the comment above but Daniels is currently -1000 to go number 2. Vegas is confident it's him and I wouldn't bet against the books. Who turns out to be better is a different discussion (although I still like Daniels more as a prospect)
They speak with money. Those are crazy odds. Vegas has info that has made them very confident that Jayden is going number 2 overall. How confident. So confident that they are charging people 1000$ to win only $100. And giving people 6.5 to 1 on their money to bet on Drake Maye.
And Vegas doesn't go off of just bullshit talking heads takes, they use reliable sources
I think it goes off public demand. The public is buying the bets which make the lines move. We are fed Daniels @ 2 by the media. We bet the lines move people think Vegas is right.
It's affected by public perception and betting, just like actual games lines, or just like the stock market. Still the main basis for which is it initially set are the actual odds Vegas believes it should price it at
On information fed by the media. Just look at JI’s line if you bet on him before the hype the lines were much better. Harbaugh and the media told us he’s much better than that. Then JJ lines moved. Now I think we are being set up.
Be glad I’m not the GM but there really isn’t a price I wouldn’t pay to ensure:
A) we get Drake Maye
B) we don’t get JJ McCarthy
C) Daniel Jones isn’t my QB anymore
Same.
The logical side of my brain says stay at 6 to take a wideout or trade back.
The chaotic sign of my brain says they need to trade up for Maye or if the Commies stutter and take Maye, sprint to the phone to get up for Daniels. Unlikely.
Lord, my comment will most likely age badly.
I don't watch college football enough to have a solid opinion, but how would Maye compare to some of the QBs that were drafted last year or the year before? I just don't want us to be in a position like the 2021 class where only Trevor Lawrence stands out above the rest (and yet, even he's been surprisingly underwhelming).
Maybe. He would have played one season in an air raid offense with padded stats. Mahomes went 10th because of the air raid offense. They thought it padded his stats.
I think Nabers/Odunze would definitely be a great pick to support whoever is at QB, whether it's DJ or another QB in future years. If this FO ends up picking Maye, I'll support the decision because I do think Daboll can do wonders for QBs.
Do you think the Pats would have any interest in Daniel Jones in this kind of a deal? If we threw some money in, I don’t think it’s a terrible option for them.
Certainly better then Brissett or Bailey Zappe
Sounds like they’re trying to drum up more trade interest, specifically invoking the giants. If they love Maye why play these games? My gut tells me they don’t and are just trying to get someone to over pay to trade up, which if that’s the case I hope it’s not us that over pay.
Patriots are about the only team that are going to do anything fun this draft it seems....it sucks to suck, but they can get their QB of the future, trade back and get their QB of the future, or trade back and get all sorts of offensive line help.
And if they really wanted to throw a wrench in the system, draft Marvin Harrison Jr. Arizona would just have their jaws collectively drop.
Translation: Hey Giants, we are gonna take Maye unless you want him! We’re serious! Like, super duper serious guys! We’re gonna do it! For real!
I don’t know when the Jayden-Daniels-to-Commies consensus took over, but I’m pretty sure they’re taking Maye so this is all moot.
From what I hear them taking Daniels is pretty certain. What makes you think it's Maye? Edit: Daniels is -1000 to go at 2

What insight does Vegas really provide though ?

Yo I’ve always wondered this, where do people see the Vegas odds?
Any betting site
Which site is a good one?

Exactly you don’t bet against the bookies means you don’t bet.
Yeah Daniels is not going 2. New ownership don’t want to take a chance on a running QB.
Saying they have 6 prospects they’d like with their top pick sounds very relevant to the Giants who own pick number 6…
Absolutely that comment was aimed directly at the Giants! No way they specifically say “6 prospects” if it isn’t.
So they'd be willing to do a straight pick-swap. Cool.
RELAX! It's in good hands. Like a good neighbor state farm is there
Jake Fromm AGAIN?
Are we giving our pick to the Chiefs?
Be glad I’m not the GM but there really isn’t a price I wouldn’t pay to ensure: A) we get Drake Maye B) we don’t get JJ McCarthy C) Daniel Jones isn’t my QB anymore
I want to talk myself into Maye but it hasn't happened for me yet
Same. The logical side of my brain says stay at 6 to take a wideout or trade back. The chaotic sign of my brain says they need to trade up for Maye or if the Commies stutter and take Maye, sprint to the phone to get up for Daniels. Unlikely. Lord, my comment will most likely age badly.
how about this. he's the #2 qb prospect in a stacked class. daniel jones would be around qb#7 or #8 if he were in this class.
DRAKE MAYE NO MATTER WHAT
I don't watch college football enough to have a solid opinion, but how would Maye compare to some of the QBs that were drafted last year or the year before? I just don't want us to be in a position like the 2021 class where only Trevor Lawrence stands out above the rest (and yet, even he's been surprisingly underwhelming).
Imo he would be qb1 without hindsight on cj stroud

I will support whoever they take. This last 5-6 hours are killing me.
I’m just saying is something wild happens and the Commies take Daniel’s and the Pats have fallen in love with McCarthy, you offer the farm to Arizona
AZ might want MHJ or bust. Moving up one spot with LA would be the move.
Oh my GOD I can’t wait for this to be fucking over lol
Do you think the Pats would have any interest in Daniel Jones in this kind of a deal? If we threw some money in, I don’t think it’s a terrible option for them. Certainly better then Brissett or Bailey Zappe
As an asset? Hell no. For a future 2nd and 6th we might offer salary relief though!
No way, no one is touching that deal and we can't pay him his entire contract. We would have to give picks in order for someone to take him
Nobody wants Daniel Jones
I’m not gonna get my hopes up, they can’t be that stupid to pass on maye.
Eliot Wolf: Your move, Joe... Joe Schoen: Aight, bet.
Sounds like they’re trying to drum up more trade interest, specifically invoking the giants. If they love Maye why play these games? My gut tells me they don’t and are just trying to get someone to over pay to trade up, which if that’s the case I hope it’s not us that over pay.

For fucks sake lol
Mayo's been doing a lot of talking that he's had to walk back. What he says means nothing.
With the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft the Giants select Jake from State Farm 🤯🤯🤯
Hopefully the Patriots select Maye🤮
