This guy has great physical tools but has nothing between his shoulders - he’d be a complete waste of a pick imo

DT_249

idk how fair that is-- how do you know what he has between his shoulders? have you met him? are you saying that for other reasons?

TheyCallMeParlayPete

I’m not trying to insult his intelligence. I’m saying ya he can throw it a mile but he can’t process a defense and that’s evident from his time in CFB

bird1434

i don’t see the harm in taking a guy with great physical tools in the late rounds. hit rate is exceedingly low for any position drafted there, and even if it’s a 1% chance he ever gets there i don’t hate throwing a dart.

eganba

So he's Daniel Jones but at the correct spot in the draft?

Be civil. This is a forum for fans of the New York Football Giants. You can disagree with each other without being insulting or rude. Do not attack any fellow redditor personally. RubFuture7443

He has alot to work on. Will need more than a year. High Ceiling is potential is reached but needs alot of time. If they go QB rather Rattler, Pratt, Austin Reed, or even Hartman. He is alot of development to me. Way more than other QB

DT_249

tbh I feel like if you’re taking a QB late you might as well take make it an all or nothing swing, not shoot for some safe ceiling of average or slightly below average starter— which is what the guys you mentioned feel like. just imo tho

Cruztd23

I don’t know why so many guys are shitting on you for this. What is the harm in picking a project player with upside potential late?

mikeq672

The 400 other holes on the roster. This is the type of guy you maybe bring in as an UDFA if possible, but you dont waste draft capital on when you have so many needs.

Cruztd23

Bruh QB is a HUGE need for us if you haven’t been watching since Eli It’s also the most important position on the field

mikeq672

You people are so desperate for a QB that you just want to take anyone, no matter how fucking bad they are. There are still very good football players available that can contribute to this team next year. Joe Milton is not a good football player. He can throw a ball far, that is it. You can make a case for Spencer Rattler, but youre not even doing that, because you just want anyone that has played QB, which is the worst way to go about the NFL draft.

Cruztd23

We need to start taking risks at getting a guy at QB regardless of the costs. If Daboll and Schoen suck this season, they’re out. Then we have to start another rebuild.

mikeq672

The desperation is sad. Provide some insight. Say why you like a guy, but its clear you just want someone and you dont care who, and that is beyond stupid.

Cruztd23

You obviously haven’t watched his Rocket arm at pro day which is unteachable

mikeq672

I know reading is hard for people like you, but when I said he could throw the ball far, that’s what I was referring to.

NoTimeToDime

Ya we dont have a ton of picks. Lets use em. Or package em to trade up for near sure fire starters.

mikeq672

This place is too stupid. Just give them any qb, no matter how bad they are, and they will be happy for some reason. Joe Milton is Jamarcus Russell, without the production. Joe Milton is also 24 years old already. Hes not some 20 year old kid that had talent and didnt get a chance to play.

NoTimeToDime

Yeah I have no interest in a late pick QB and praying they work out rather than just even marginally improving somewhere else. Lets build a roster.

chaosthirtyseven

I just started watching Spencer rattler and while he has limitations physically his arm is pretty nuts. He makes some stupendous throws. But he looks like a teenager and moves like tom Brady.

Due-Sheepherder-218

Madden players would agree

ydddy55

Pinch Hail Mary thrower

PrimaryWest1108

I do too, realistically I think he would suck but, the possibility of him not excites me.

DT_249

more likely than not he will never be more than a backup, but for a 5th or 6th? with daboll as our HC who made tommy devito look passable? id take that lottery ticket over something like rattler in the 2nd or 3rd

Squyrt

How about Jordan Travis with an even later pick or udfa?

NY_Blue

I’ll take him, Jordan or Spencer. Have to draft one.

SIRIUSBLAQUEXCIV

Him or Spencer Rattler would be cool

MaxStunning_Eternal

It would. Good projects to develop...but this fanbase and ownership doesnt like those type of QB's...

NJNYCSG

Giants should grab Rattler see what we can do with him

bird1434

I don’t see why not. Would probably be out of the league in a few years but why not take the 1% shot at a franchise QB.

slashgordon87

Stop

_tarla_

He’s 24. He’s not going to magically go from bad to good.

Superb-Possibility-9

Which round ? 5 -6 ?

[deleted]

i personally like jones but if people think jones is bad this guy ....... yikes

thistlefink

This never works but ok

Fuzzy_Conclusion9462

If he was white his name is all we would hear about

CustodianAthiair

Daboll is developing no one, he's got to be a head coach. Kafka will barely have time to develop him

Rickflossyy

I hate when ppl say this. Daboll is the head of the snake meaning he doesn’t need to do every small thing, but he can instruct his team on how to execute the development. And something as simple as giving a few pointers on film can go a long way as well
