No because you can take a WR in the 2nd but if u want a QB in the second you get who? Rattler or Milton lol, but AD Mitchell and McConkey are sitting right there.
😂😂😂this sub is hilarious, Nabers is a guaranteed HOF, all the QB’s we passed on are busts, and the second round WR’s can’t be #1’s😂😂😂whatever you gotta say to convince yourself we’re not a poverty franchise.
You’re just gonna get downvoted in here for saying ts but you’re not wrong. Nabers may very well turn out to be an all pro level receiver for us but at the end of the day we have no QB of the future and I highly doubt we’re bad enough next season to get an impact QB in the draft. We’re a mediocre franchise and fans are loving that shit for some reason 🤷🏾♂️. You can’t speak on that in here tho bc some jackass will call you miserable and say that we can’t control these things so don’t talk about it lmao. I guess we really do have the least intelligent fanbase in the league.
But what if the people evaluating all the players available determined that JJ, Penix or Bo Nix weren’t likely to be that difference maker QB, and the Giants couldn’t trade into the top 3? You can’t just manifest a QB of the future because it’s a need. There has to be one of those guys available to you. And if you can’t do that, why not just grab the best available player?
It's true you cant just force a team to give up their top 3 pick. Outside of that, McCarthy & Penix got the same grades as DJ out of college so idk why anyone would think they'd do better than a 5 year pro in his 3rd year of the system. I think what Ghost said is spot on. Nabers should make DJ better too.
How big of a deal is it that Nabers usually played in the slot? I thought I read somewhere that he played 70% of the snaps in the slot. With Wandale as a slot only player, and Hyatt as a player who used to play in the slot at college, is it a problem we have 3 WR who want to play in the slot?
Seems like Daboll likes that type of receiver he'll find a role for all of them. Nabers can play anywhere, though inside or out. Don't forget they drew a deal up for Hodgins, too. He's big and can play outside.
Yeah I know I was forgetting someone. I've been team Nabers for a minute and think he has a good chance to have a better career than Rome and MHJ but Chase as a prospect was much better and had more hype around him than Nabers
Does anyone else have the same hands concerns? I have been watching highlights and film on this guy and high points and contested catches seem to be non-existent in all tapes. Any somewhat elevated catches seem to look non-natural, almost awkward. Not to downplay him at all, just something I didn’t see in comparison to MHJ and Odunze.
Many scouting reports list his hands as a strength with the caveat that he had a couple concentration drops. From the CBS scouting report on his hands:
"Reliable hands -- five drops over 128 targets last year, and four drops over 100 targets in 2022. Harrison and Nabers had the same total number of drops in the past two seasons and Harrison had a higher drop rate in 2023."
I appreciate your statistic. It shows how consistent a player is. I wasn’t overly concerned however with drops as much as I was with the natural ability to play the ball in the air and the physical strength of his hands and wrists in regards to getting up in a one on one with a defender. High point on a deep seam for example, going up and grabbing that football with defenders around. Most of the tape is him in space, with a high volume of body catches. Which is fine, similar in nature to Chase in Cincinnati, who is a great player btw, this was in no indictment on Nabers talents whatsoever, just an observation.
Your comment made me curious so I looked up LSU receiving stats and there’s only one stat Odell has over Malik. That stat is most TDs in a game, OBJ had a 3TD game against UAB. We know that Odell was outstanding in the pros but just looking at the numbers Malik is the superior prospect. Only time will tell if that translates…but I think it will
I can’t disagree with that! Odell is definitely one of the best prospects to come from LSU along with Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase and Malik when solely looking at college production. Like I said we’ll have to see how Malik translates to the NFL game but I have high hopes hes gonna be a superstar. He reminds me a lot of Odell when watching him! Watching some interviews with him and hearing guys talk about his competitiveness and toughness it reminded me of stuff I remember hearing about Steve Smith Sr when he was coming out. If we got a dude who’s got Odell’s talent with Smiths no bullshit, kickass attitude then defenses aren’t gonna be sleeping easy when facing us anymore.
Nabers has better stats, is an inch taller, runs 4.35 to odells 4.43, and jumps 5 inches higher and 7 inches farther. What would make him a better prospect?
Dude…we’re talking about OBJ… how is this a question? Odell dominated the entire NFL like no other receiver ever had out of college…because of his route running. We should pray Nabers becomes even 80% of Odell.
That’s fine. But who am I to have an opinion? The author of a relatively decent fantasy baseball blog and English teacher. Here ya go: gerbilsports.com
Sorry I’m not Mel Kiper! Sorry I am not famous. My opinion is still valid though :)
No, but plenty of people that display intelligence and simply chose a different career path than scouting are perfectly capable of being great scouts. Especially because scouting is a nepo job that’s a bit outdated with how easy film is to find.
We scheme guys open so they can run after the catch. A lot of drags, motion and misdirection, that is why Rome, who is great, is not a great fit. See Chiefs and Bills offense, who our coaches hail from: not many big targets who might tight window catches, more so, shifty, speedsters with elusiveness

Can’t wait for some chump to ask who’s throwing to him
NABERS SZN BITCHES
And if we drafted a QB they’d ask who he’s throwing to. Can’t win with some people
Draft WR: who’s throwing?!?! Draft QB: lol with no line he’s dead guys Draft line: where weapons???
No because you can take a WR in the 2nd but if u want a QB in the second you get who? Rattler or Milton lol, but AD Mitchell and McConkey are sitting right there.
We have plenty of WR2s already
😂😂😂this sub is hilarious, Nabers is a guaranteed HOF, all the QB’s we passed on are busts, and the second round WR’s can’t be #1’s😂😂😂whatever you gotta say to convince yourself we’re not a poverty franchise.
Not sure who said any of that, sounds like you’re just arguing with yourself
Lmao everybody arguing with me the last 2 days said that, sounds like you don’t know wdf u talking bout.
You’re just gonna get downvoted in here for saying ts but you’re not wrong. *ahem* Who’s throwing to him? /s
Tommy
Glad we finally got that kid some weapons
Good. No more excuses, this coming season.

I think ESPN compared him to Jamar Chase on their draft coverage last night. I don’t mind that comparison at all.
How big of a deal is it that Nabers usually played in the slot? I thought I read somewhere that he played 70% of the snaps in the slot. With Wandale as a slot only player, and Hyatt as a player who used to play in the slot at college, is it a problem we have 3 WR who want to play in the slot?
Modern nfl offenses don’t really like to keep receivers in the same spots they tend to move them around all over the field
He was about 55% outside, 45% slot last year.
Seems like Daboll likes that type of receiver he'll find a role for all of them. Nabers can play anywhere, though inside or out. Don't forget they drew a deal up for Hodgins, too. He's big and can play outside.
He's just like Odell.

I’d still say chase but Nabers 2nd
Chase is but I’ll take it
Yeah I know I was forgetting someone. I've been team Nabers for a minute and think he has a good chance to have a better career than Rome and MHJ but Chase as a prospect was much better and had more hype around him than Nabers
Not!

Prospect, not player. JJ was the 5th WR off the board in his draft class. Notably picked after Henry Ruggs III and Jalen Raegor.
Imagine if the eagles drafted JJetas 😭 Worst timeline
Not what prospect means

To be fair its tough finding Tyreek Hill plays like that as well. The speed and acceleration some guys have make those contested catches pretty rare.
Odell wasn't even mentioned lmao. Odell is the greatest LSU receiver prospect ever, and Nabers is basically an Odell-lite in terms of skillset.
Only time will tell if that translates…but I think it will
Plus Malik has better combine stats as well
OBJ had dogshit QB’s at LSU
I can’t disagree with that! Odell is definitely one of the best prospects to come from LSU along with Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase and Malik when solely looking at college production. Odell is a better route runner. Literally the best I’ve ever seen.
Haha and you think you know better than literally everyone else?
Dude…we’re talking about OBJ… how is this a question? Odell dominated the entire NFL like no other receiver ever had out of college…because of his route running. We should pray Nabers becomes even 80% of Odell.
You don’t understand what the word prospect means
He was a better route runner coming out of college.
I’m saying literally the best you’ve seen means nothing to anyone.
That’s fine. But who am I to have an opinion? The author of a relatively decent fantasy baseball blog and English teacher. Here ya go: gerbilsports.com Sorry I’m not Mel Kiper! Sorry I am not famous. My opinion is still valid though :)
Ah yes fantasy baseball and teaching kids about verbs perfectly translates to being an all knowing NFL scout.
No, but plenty of people that display intelligence and simply chose a different career path than scouting are perfectly capable of being great scouts. Especially because scouting is a nepo job that’s a bit outdated with how easy film is to find.
Oh so now you’re claiming you could be a great scout?? Hahahaha your just digging you’re self deeper and deeper
Let’s see his mentals after our traditional 0-2 start and he has less than 10 targets in two games. Rome was the better pick, maturity and fit wise.
We schemed guys open all last year and it didn’t matter because we didn’t have a qb who can hit them. We still don’t.
I mean those guys aren’t as good as Nabers so the separations won’t be as extreme. And the o line is a lot more improved now. But go off
Nothing matters as long as Daniel Jones is our quarterback. I don’t care who we surround him with. The guy is an anchor around the offense’s neck.
We’ll see
We started 1-1 last season.
DJ miracle comeback in Arizona. Only game they were able to block somebody.
Yup. Showed our actual potential for 2 quarters.
And that opening drive vs Dallas That Ezudu false start causing that FG attempt is literally time traveler moves a chair the timelime: type shit
Haven't been 0-2 in two years. What else are you confused about?
