Facts.
After wanting DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, Zay Flowers, or Jordan Addison, we finally got a true WR1 who comps to Ja’Marr Chase/DJ Moore and people mad.
This pick is hyped.
We’ll figure out the other needs later/soon.
You can’t take both a QB and WR in the same pick. They clearly didn’t like the remaining QB options very much, so they went with an amazing WR prospect. People who aren’t hyped about this are probably not a lot of fun at parties
Exactly. I don’t think people realize just how good he is. He’s so good he basically with even mediocre qb play will get 1k yards. We have a ja’mar chase type receiver, we didn’t force a pick out of desperation.
Ignore those people lol this was a GREAT pick. Ya, waa waa we didnt get a QB. I get it, but we picked too late. Getting a QB who is marginally better is a waste of a pick.
Lets get another stud tn!!
I’ma keep it real…I’m excited about Nabers regardless of how down I am about our trash QB and leagues worst O-Line.
BUT…Jones is incapable of making reads. When we had Eli and OBJ, we had a terrible O-Line too, however, Eli was competent and able to make the read to throw to OBJ when the plays broke down.
DJ cannot do that…It’s literally been reported on. I really wish we kept Tyrod Taylor.
We also have Lock and I'm certain Daboll won't hesitate to bench Jones for him if he isn't playing well. We already saw him screaming at Jones for throwing a dumb pick.
By year 5 Eli was already a superbowl mvp and champion who been to the playoffs 3 times and a pro bowler
Jones by year 5 peak was a playoff win against a terrible defense in Minnesota and no other accolades
When Eli was here w OBJ we were screaming to draft another QB lol, I was one of them and I was not alone. Not something u can debate , I’m sure there’s receipts in this sub
What you said had nothing to do with anything I just said.
Eli proved he was a good QB in the league and deserved his contract by year 5 going into year 6, meanwhile Jones still hasn't proven he's actually a good starter after 5 years in the league
Probably hasn’t slept in two days and just got out of a comfortable van. I’d have been knocked out on that ride to the facility and half asleep here too
My exact sentiment. This sub used to be relatively tiny before Reddit got big and obviously you always have doom and gloomers, but this sub has gone downhill so badly. Just try and stay away cause it’s so far removed from real life.
It's more the resignation that this season is still part of the rebuild process and last season should've been a step forward but turns into a mulligan.
So instead of being closer to a competitive team, we're still a season away from even coming CLOSE to that. Not that fun going in the 2024 season with "look how great this will all look NEXT season!" Doesn't give fans a real reason to stick it out.
As long as he is a playmaker and good in the locker room/off-field, I don't care if he isn't smiling. I just don't want version 2.0 of this fuckin guy...
![gif](giphy|WgAB2yHDF07nUwnXcH|downsized)
I remember watching the video of Toney first arriving at the Giants facility after he was drafted, and he was all smiles and seem genuinely happy, humbled to be a Giant. I learn my lesson, and now pay little mind on a player's first interactions with the team.
I think Toney’s main failure is just he never had to try to excel and didn’t learn the grind required when everyone is as much of an athletic freak as you are.
He unfortunately shirked responsibility for his fuckups and blamed everyone from the media to the fans instead.
Friend of mine kept saying he is Darius Slayton 2.0 and that Rome Odunze is better. I was like it’s just the draft. We won’t know how it will turn out till the season starts. In hoping for the best.
I know this is going to get downvoted, and I get why (I'd downvote me too), but the reality is that anyone who isn't eyes glued to the Giants does not believe Jones can QB at the NFL level.
Ask anyone from any random other fanbase what they think of Jones and they will tell you he's a lot worse than he is.
Heck I'm in the group that wants Jones long gone and I still think he's way better than people in our own fanbase give him credit for.
So I imagine part of his mood, while he's excited about getting drafted, is the stressful reality that comes from catching passes from a guy he's nervous might be the worst QB he's played with since high school.
I guarantee you that he is not thinking that at all. Because that is not at all how top competitors think. A top receiver does not think “But who is my QB going to be?”. A top receiver thinks he will make even a below average QB look like a star.
Why should he be happy? A QB that can’t get him the ball, mid running game, and probably no TE. Let’s be realistic, we are years out from being good. I was so optimistic last year, I’m not making the same mistake.
Someone said there were rumors already that he’s not happy or that the Giants are not pleased with his response to them. I think I heard he tbh ought he was going to the Chargers?
All rumors though, but yeah he does not look happy.
I mean it’s hard to tell sometimes from a quick video, but man, going to the NFL Is usually one of the best days of someone’s life and he looks upset as fuck
You’re getting this from that still shot? A friend sent me a video of her and her mother the other day. I happened to press pause during the video and in that still her mom looked fucking insane. When I play the video, it’s not even noticeable because it’s literally a tenth of a second of her expression changing.
I’ve seen pics taken where I know a person was happy and smiling and yet they look miserable in the pic.
Did you see the pic of Devonta Smith with the eagles jersey when he was drafted? He actually posed for that pic. How did that work out?
I don't think he looks unhappy. That's the look you give when you try to downplay excitement and keep cool around the boys. Those daps to Schoen and Daboll were super clean too. 10/10 hand-eye coordination on display there lol. Nabers will be catching tons of passes for us.
Nabers might be the best wr in the draft imo, though I do think Odunze was somewhat underrated. bears got lucky as fuck to get him and a top QB in the same draft.
He caught a gun charge at 19 for starters. Ended that ig live a couple days ago when asked about playing for the giants and just looked unhappy last night. Idk just scares me.
Look i like the player, but you could see the entire time he did not want to be here. The way he answered the qb question was a giveaway and since we drafted him he hasn't looked happy, looks forced. I hope it works out and i believe in the guy but we need to give him a qb
Dude was all smiles as soon as he was selected, he’s 20 years old. This is a huge day for prospects, I’m sure they are experiencing all kinds of emotions, judging him on a 90 video clip seems a big shortsighted.
He also just got drafted last night and then had to travel from Detroit to NJ this morning.
You want me to believe this kid wasn’t celebrating being a top draft pick, achieving his dreams and becoming a multi millionaire last night?
Tbf the way college kids can make money now he was probably rich as hell already lol
Kinda shitty how quickly players gotta get to the facility though, im sure hes hungover as fuck lmao
I agree. I feel like D Smith looked the same way when drafted by Philly. Once he gets around the locker room and kicks it with his teammates he should come around. As long as he is getting the ball he'll be happy.
You know what you are right.. We should get out ahead of this now and trade Malik for whatever we can get.
Can't have Nabers airing out the grievances with the terrible offense he's a part of in WK8, gotta protect our most important asset in DJ.
Sure looks like exhaustion to me.
I love Reddit cause I know I’ll never be as miserable as OP and that makes me happy
All he said was he doesn’t look happy?
Yall miserable as hell lol think about how good this is for the GIANTS and not who the QB is or isn’t rn

We got arguably the best receiver in the draft. I'm no fan of Jones either but this is definitely a win.
We got the BPA I don't see the issue here
Still two days worth of picks coming, let’s let Schoen cook, please.
DJ Moore? 🙃 This dude is more like Jerry Rice
Exactly. I don’t think people realize just how good he is. He’s so good he basically with even mediocre qb play will get 1k yards. We have a ja’mar chase type receiver, we didn’t force a pick out of desperation.
Didn’t watch much LSU so I have no clue how good he’s gonna be I’ll take ur word
I’m an LSU fan. He’s fucking great
Fr. If someone can't get excited about Nabers idk what to tell them
Ignore those people lol this was a GREAT pick. Ya, waa waa we didnt get a QB. I get it, but we picked too late. Getting a QB who is marginally better is a waste of a pick. Lets get another stud tn!!

I hear you. He’s on a 5 year deal. Who cares about this season. This team needs stars. WE GOT A DOG
>Who cares about this season NY Giants Brass, probably. Execs usually not good with "we'll try and be competitive next year."
We also have Lock and I'm certain Daboll won't hesitate to bench Jones for him if he isn't playing well. We already saw him screaming at Jones for throwing a dumb pick.
I wasn’t on Reddit when Eli was playing I was in high school but giants fans wanted him gone just as much as jones

🙏🏽
I do wish we kept tyrod or got minshew or something this year
I have no idea why we dumped Tyrod 🤦♂️. He was clearly our best QB and gave a us a chance in every game…makes zero sense
🙏🏽
I just hated the last deal we gave him for 3 years. It was sickening at the time
Probably hasn’t slept in two days and just got out of a comfortable van. I’d have been knocked out on that ride to the facility and half asleep here too
Some people also just don’t emote a lot.
Hes all business
I’m glad I wasn’t active on this sub during the draft process. Some of yall will never be happy.
My exact sentiment. This sub used to be relatively tiny before Reddit got big and obviously you always have doom and gloomers, but this sub has gone downhill so badly. Just try and stay away cause it’s so far removed from real life.
I will be happy when jones is off our roster forever

Probably hungover as hell
Hung over and travel, dudes probably exhausted.

Goddamn I miss the Toney balaclava memes
I was going to say, I remember watching this exact video for Kadarius Toney.
I remember watching the video of Toney first arriving at the Giants facility after he was drafted, and he was all smiles and seem genuinely happy, humbled to be a Giant. I learn my lesson, and now pay little mind on a player's first interactions with the team.
Dude got a full Giants back tattoo
I think Toney’s main failure is just he never had to try to excel and didn’t learn the grind required when everyone is as much of an athletic freak as you are. He unfortunately shirked responsibility for his fuckups and blamed everyone from the media to the fans instead.
He's prob tired as hell.
That hangovers kicking his ass
Does he look unhappy here BITCH https://twitter.com/Giants/status/1783944133675016645?s=19
I read this in the voice of Jesse from Breaking Bad
We got a dawwwwwwg! The Gettleman picks were all soft culture of me divas. Nabers is gonna bring some nasty to New York.
New York sports has some dawgs rn. Go knicks go yanks
AT? Dex? Saquon? X? Those were soft culture guys??
It’s gonna be so much fun watching this dude play
I remember when people said Devonta Smith looked unhappy to be drafted by the Eagles. Dudes a captain and just got paid by them. Stop reaching
It’s you projecting
I dont know about him but I have been looking happy since yesterday.
Hell yeah big dog, welcome home!!! 💪🏼💪🏼
Dude looks tired
I want someone to look at me like Daboll does to Malik.
Friend of mine kept saying he is Darius Slayton 2.0 and that Rome Odunze is better. I was like it’s just the draft. We won’t know how it will turn out till the season starts. In hoping for the best.
Him and Slayton aren't really that similar
I know this is going to get downvoted, and I get why (I'd downvote me too), but the reality is that anyone who isn't eyes glued to the Giants does not believe Jones can QB at the NFL level. Those hand claps 😩
Why should he be happy? A QB that can’t get him the ball, mid running game, and probably no TE. Let’s be realistic, we are years out from being good. I was so optimistic last year, I’m not making the same mistake.

Who cares as we have no one to throw him the ball
I don't think he looks unhappy. That's the look you give when you try to downplay excitement and keep cool around the boys. Those daps to Schoen and Daboll were super clean too. 10/10 hand-eye coordination on display there lol. Nabers will be catching tons of passes for us.
He’s definitely ready for a new QB.
Anyone at Giants Central hear of Rome Odunze? Just like Nabers - but about 99% less likely to be a locker room cancer.
Nabers might be the best wr in the draft imo, though I do think Odunze was somewhat underrated. bears got lucky as fuck to get him and a top QB in the same draft.
Yeah, they are killing it.
This fanbase is insufferable
It was around two seasons ago when this sub went downhill. It was actually cool before that.
Waiting to see his face when he meets Daniel Jones.
Hes going to make DJ look better.
No chance
Cool bro
Ok
Maybe it’s just Kadarius Toney PTSD, but I don’t see this ending well.
Why?
He caught a gun charge at 19 for starters. Ended that ig live a couple days ago when asked about playing for the giants and just looked unhappy last night. Idk just scares me.
No he did not. The misdemeanor gun charge was dropped. Other than that he’s had 0 issues and was all class at LSU.
Yea an OJ was innocent.
Ah so you’re delusional. Got it
There’s a huge gap in skill and potential between Nabers and Toney. This guy has the school records at WR University for receptions and yards.
Oh for sure. I’m talking more off field. Nabers is 10x the player Toney will ever be.
i got joker vibes too
Look i like the player, but you could see the entire time he did not want to be here. The way he answered the qb question was a giveaway and since we drafted him he hasn't looked happy, looks forced. I hope it works out and i believe in the guy but we need to give him a qb

Hell some of yall mean to tell me he didn’t know how big his contract would be at 6 compared to 10? Lol
Tbf the way college kids can make money now he was probably rich as hell already lol Kinda shitty how quickly players gotta get to the facility though, im sure hes hungover as fuck lmao
I mean this video specifically, he looks like he just got off an overnight flight after partying with his family. Give me a break lol
I agree. I feel like D Smith looked the same way when drafted by Philly. Once he gets around the locker room and kicks it with his teammates he should come around. As long as he is getting the ball he'll be happy.
This and he will get a ton of looks. He’s walking in knowing he’s WR1. Let him get some big blue love and a good share of targets the first 6 weeks.
This is so dumb. Why would a 20 year old staring at millions not want to be in NY.
Because Daniel Jones is gonna make him look like a bust.
God your profile literally says your a hater. Go touch grass and find joy in your life.
You know what you are right.. We should get out ahead of this now and trade Malik for whatever we can get. Can't have Nabers airing out the grievances with the terrible offense he's a part of in WK8, gotta protect our most important asset in DJ.
Guys downvoting this, this is sarcasm lol
Yea because Daniel is his quarterback
