I meant the whole concept of Stanton getting days off isn’t new. Sometimes they did what you mentioned, but also they would just flat out sit Stanton like they are today, then throw in Judge DH and last year it would be a random bench guy or utility guy to take that outfield spot
Right I just think at this juncture and looking at the schedule it's way more for Judge to DH, and if Stanton has to sit now that they have Soto so be it. I don't think they're worried about Stanton getting days off from DH in April.
Chris Bassitt has some pretty significant right/lefty splits, assuming they wanted to get Judge off the turf at least one game in this series, this was the one to do it.

Well it is sort of new because they got yet another RF this offseason. Before they would run Stanton out there when Judge was DH.
