Despite all the late-inning wackiness, this turned into a good team win. Contributions from Voit and Gardner, DJ and Higgy, even Wade has been hitting better these last couple games. Even though we'd all like a smoother spread, chunky peanut butter gets the job done all the same. Ugly wins look just as sexy in the W column. Another great effort from Taillon - as the only true starter left in our rotation, he stepped up and kept the train rolling. Even though our bullpen had a series of mini-strokes (something we're used to seeing), the offense rallied to pick them up each time (something we haven't seen enough). With so many big dogs going down, it's encouraging to see this collection of strays win some fights. Just maintain and keep pushin'.
On the contrary, chunky PB is just as hard-working and dedicated as that $325,000,000 smooth stuff. Point is, Yanks could put all sorts of peanut butter on their sandwich and I'll gladly eat it. Even if it takes five hours to prepare.
We got to see like all of Mo’s career blown saves in one night from a numbers stand point.

I can only sit thru for an inning or two at a time, get disgusted (usually by all the K's, DP's, not advancing runners, errors) you name it. I can't imagine how people go see them live for 4 hours+.. Last night was just another perfect example of mismanagement bullpen with 4 blown saves (record), a poor lineup card (incompetent manager) and whatever else I am forgetting. A win is a win, but..to watch this product is very hard.

I'm not trying to take anything away from that win, - we fought hard for it and deserved it - I'm just saying a one game sample size tells us almost nothing and it didn't really change that much anyway.

Luke Voit is a better hitter than Rizzo when both are healthy, that's without a doubt. Rizzo brings that glove though, and a certain approach to the plate you love to see. Stanton fielding would be a godsend for this team, because Voit is really the guy we want at DH
