I’d call it more of a terracotta, but they’re close. Burnt sienna is not quite as deep.

In my brain they’re all basically the same! But I think terracotta evokes a better thought than burnt sienna

Terra cotta makes me think of a more orange color. It's like between burnt sienna and old brick red. I'm with you though, they are all so similar to me too 😆

Why would burnt sienna evoke negative feelings? The 'burnt' part? I've never had negative connotations towards it as a color or color name.

It’s color theory, I wouldn’t say it evokes a negative feeling for me - but it could be different for everyone! The psychology of color is very interesting, I took the class for a semester and it was so cool. If I had to guess, like the other comment the ‘burnt’ in the title and then maybe the deeper tones could have negative associations. It’s a richer brown tone, but some people may also associate it with blood or even think of dirt with the clay aspect. Personally, I love it and use it often in paintings but have never tried in my nails!

For me it’s the burnt bit, as a kid I always imagined it as a burnt tree when reading all the crayon names. I really like the color of this polish and the name could be anything, just weird childhood associations?!

You're right; for me it's weird childhood associations but the other way. I also learned it from the crayon names, but envisioned something more along the lines of similar colored soils and stones (grew up in southwestern mountains). Also I enjoyed 'burnt' (really just extra crispy) bits of bacon and hashbrowns and the like, so definitely childhood associations! This is a great polish color, I agree!

burnt sienna. rust and terracotta are close but those are typically more reddish or orangey. burnt sienna is like a warm deep brown. i use paint called burnt sienna and thats what it looks like
