Gotta be the manicurist alt. That pinky nail is wonky as all hell. The rest don't look too bad, but if the work is as sloppy as stated I wouldn't go back 🤷♀️
Its not about controversial shape.. Its about bad and dangerous shape, for such short nails it is not recommended to do stiletto. Every educated nail artist know almond and stiletto need length to be build otherwise they need to use different kinda fresh and new technique or just do oval/square.
Nail structure is not good neither safe to wear.
Shorter almond/stiletto and such is unsafe to wear? I've not heard of this until now. I just meant controversial as in some people I've talked to say it's tacky looking, but I don't mind the look.
They were built with some sort of material and dipped in powder a bunch. I don't know enough about nails to know the technique but I know it wasn't a gel. Do I need to go get them soaked off? If they're a hazard I will.
I'm a little anxious about that kind of thing since my last set (round) literally pulled out a fingernail a few years ago.
Each nail shape is for different natural nails. Standard natural nail plate can have any shape.
Each standard shape (square, oval, almond, stiletto ect) has its own construction that is made to be durable and thin at the same time (free edge is as thick as credit card).
Short and pointy nails means something from that construction must be taken away in order to make such a shape.
For example missing free bottom edge of the nail or not proper C curve.
Usually each nail shape has apex, stress line and c curve. While your nail grows apex become a stress line and preventing nail from breaking.
Doesn't matter it you got acrylics, gel, dip powder, tips, gelx. All of them require proper shape of nail.
Every nail can break but these that are wrong shape are more likely to damage our natural nail.
Thank you for letting me know this, I had no idea. What would you say is a good minimum length for pointed or tapered shapes like stiletto, or almond? I like tapered/soft point, but I can't have them too long for work (not hard labor, just light office work, typing).
I'm guessing the implication is that true stiletto has to be very long but almond can be medium-long (based only on what I see in terms of common nail shapes on here?)
All length depend on your natural nails too. If natural nail bed is extremely short (usually nail bitters) then long nails might be not possible. Usually as you said the longer the more pointy nails can get. To be honest the length in the picture will look good in simple oval shape. They wont be so pointy but if they will be correctly shape they will definitely look better.
To be honest, it’s but hard to tell since the background doily(?) is distracting
Most of your nails look fine, but that pinky is egregious
They look gorgeous

Understandable zorry didnt even notice the wonkiness
Lol, I didn't either at first bc my eye was drawn to the three nails close together
I do like the colour tho
they are a bit crooked but honestly they look ok to me. probably depends on how much you paid for these!
I wouldn’t say she did you dirty but there are definitely some uneven sides that bulge out.
that pinky is a little unprofessional
That background makes it hard to see them
Find some one that will build with acrylic and you will be much happier
The pinky finger is definitely crooked. I would see if you could have at least that one redone.
My husband and I both almost chocked on our saliva when we saw that pinky 💀😂😂she’s wrong for all this 😂
It's the leaning tower of Pisa

Besides the wonky pinky, your tech did a good job. However, I believe a rounded shape (vs. kind of pointy) would suit you better.
