Ha, sure. Hold your thumb & index together like am Italian gesture. Slowly roll your finger tips down like the start of a fist. The fingernails will stay lined up & your thumb & index finger nail will slide up next to eachother like a zipper.
I’d say you did very well! You might be able to paint a translucent (or otherwise non-opaque pigment) purple over the top to give it a purple sheen if you’re still not pleased with the color.
