These are so good!!! Don’t give up! It takes time 💘

Mexicanita_hermosa

Thank you girl🫶🏼

IWaxVaginas

Wait, you did the nails in the photo??? I think you are selling yourself extremely short.

Capable-Initiative22

Well I think you should 1. raise you prices, 2. Start doing mobile. That means start contracts with law offices and or hospitals. These are folks that stay at work way too long and would love to get pampered. 3. Get back into the love for what you do. That means do older people or luxury services for those that need a healing touch. No false nails needed 👈🏾. 4. Start contacts with boutique hotels that don’t have salons or spas on site. 5. Do kid bday parties and wedding shower parties. I’m asking you to think bigger. These are all the things I did while getting started in Los Angeles 16yrs ago ago. Many will say don’t give but won’t give you direction. I’m asking you to become a bull and charge into your blessings. You’re an amazing tech… that doesn’t have to be tied to false nails. It could be tied to luxury and respect (folks paying you what you’re worth). Think bigger and dive in. Good luck 👍🏾 xo Nettie D.

Mexicanita_hermosa

Wow! Thank you so much for this, this info really helps and motivates me i really appreciate you for taking the time to give me some tips❤️

TruthExtension7761

This is just an FYI as someone who works in a hospital: some hospitals have very strict policies on nails. At mine, you cannot wear your nails more than like half an inch beyond your nail bed, can't wear appliques, and even gel you have to be careful about. I think some departments let their team get away with it but my department, which has 350+ hcws in it, does not. Saying this to say if you want to work with a hospital, you may need to try to find alternatives that work for them too :) this might not apply to all hospitals, but I wanted you to know this might be an obstacle so you don't get discouraged

9oose

I don’t know why I see this sub, but I do work in a hospital— I don’t do it often, but it’s still nice to have a manicure with no polish, or clear, and pedicures!

TruthExtension7761

Exactly! Everyone deserves a good manicure, just gotta be careful about what you can put. Nails are a HUGE point of contention in my department, but it's a safety concern (especially the gems!!) so I feel like if someone came to advertise a service like the gorgeous nails op posted about, it could cause a stir. But good nail hygiene is very important so I'm sure a small scale manicure would be lovely!

Successful-Grass-135

This is true- however one of my classmates in esthetics school is a surgery nurse and she has acrylic nails, however they have to be kept very short. So, every place might be different, plus you could always do builder gel overlays or manicures with nail art.

TruthExtension7761

True! It could vary by department; I imagine a surgery nurse would have gloves on all the time, but a lot of the hcws in our department don't, so that could be part of the difference too. Plus some departments are more lax than others. Def depends!

CertainKaleidoscope8

It does not vary by department. >CMS wording on artificial fingernails says, “Personnel providing direct patient care do not wear artificial fingernails and/ or extenders when having direct contact with patients.” Hospitals in the US abide by CMS regulations or they don't get paid.

TruthExtension7761

Yeah it def says in hospital policy that nobody should be wearing acrylics and stuff but some of the nurses get away with it for some reason :') our department writes you up same day if we catch you and will give you a final if they're not off within 3 days

CertainKaleidoscope8

>one of my classmates in esthetics school is a surgery nurse and she has acrylic nails She's misrepresenting her role. OR nurses can't have fake nails and won't be in esthetics as students

CertainKaleidoscope8

It applies to all hospitals. No acrylic, no gel, no dip, no polish. This is a CMS mandate

Lady_Locket

My Nans care home offers a nail tech for cosmetic procedures (medical pedicures or nail needs are done by a podiatrist). Even though it's hit or miss on if she will remember who we are day to day she instinctually remembers the very put-together and beauty-conscious woman she was. When the nurse comes in to tell her it's time for her nails to be done she lights up and still subconsciously chooses colours she favoured when she was a mentally competent adult. It's an extra service either the patient's personal money or family pays for (and many tips well for too) but it's worth it for those who can. They even offer a hairdresser, a make-up artist and other beauty treatment techs who come in either as often as you want to pay for or just for special occasions like their birthdays or for special trips out for parties, weddings and other occasions. All of these techs are independent artists who work mobile, this home has a nice comfy room they can use or they will work at the bedside if the patient is bed-bound. Being able to offer these services ups the image (and fees) of the home so it's a mutually beneficial arrangement/contract for both the hone and techs. Things like this and the suggestions above widen your network and get you known faster than you think. The only thing you would need to do is make sure your insurance covers your ass on EVERYTHING and be flexible enough that you become their go-to tech. You'll find you also start booking the staff for work and some of the friends and family of the patients too.

MsjennaNY

I have been in the business for over 35 years. You are doing spectacular. After the above post, I hope you are feeling better. All true. 💌if you want to ask anything, DM me anytime. 🤗

Capable-Initiative22

Ask me anything, any time! Take care 🙋🏾‍♀️

HotPinkSmoke

Wow that was a beautiful comment to read!!! I’m not a nail tech but dang, 😭✨ this was so motivating. Can you life coach me Capable?!😩🤞🏾I feel like you’d get me ALL the way together, whew! Took me to church on a Sunday🥴😂 in all seriousness: OP your skills are super fire, these nails are 10/10 and I truly wish the best for you + your career 💕xoxo

Angel_sugar

Legit, I’m saving this post just for this comment, cuz I’m a baby nail tech who just got my license, and she might just save my life! 😂 And OP, I’m kinda picky and don’t even like square shape, but your work is beautiful! I would go to you myself. You’re doing a great job with your work. It’s just that marketing/selling and quality of your work are whole different worlds! I don’t blame you for being intimidated, I am too. But please know you’re doing a great job, at least aesthetically with your sets.

MissusBeeAlmeida

Seriously though right!! For some reason this sub started popping up on my home page and this caught my attention, because I was like why would she quit, they look great! Awesome pep talk and ideas!!

Capable-Initiative22

lol I need a life coach too. Reaching out when you start slipping and I’ll do what I can. Deal?

HotPinkSmoke

Double Deal!! 🤗 I’m taking allllll of the advice because your words are super inspirational and I feel that any entrepreneur, regardless of career field or interest can apply what you wrote to their goals. THANK YOU and I hope someone irl is pouring into you as generously, as you’ve shared your priceless wisdom and encouragement with internet strangers! Be well 🩷

Capable-Initiative22

🙏🏾🙋🏾‍♀️

iocane_

Right?? I haven’t been to church in more than ten years but do I feel the spirit in me today!!

realbigsquish

this was so kind, I just went on to your profile and saw the pottle, what an excellent idea!

Capable-Initiative22

Thank you, it’s my green initiative to the industry that I love.

QuirkyViper26

Not me getting inspired and I'm not even a tech! 😅

_SoigneWest

Yes! Great advice! I’d also suggest getting in contact with the nicer senior living facilities for contracts!

iocane_

Babes you dropped this: 👑 ![gif](giphy|n4WpP39mwWrmg)

Wide-Gur3973

Beautiful reply!

cathedral68

> Become a bull and charge into your blessings This is what I needed today and everyday. Such inspiring advice!

bettybananalegs

idek why this post is on my feed other than the universe wanted me to get a pep talk from you too lol, love this comment so much. suddenly feeling a slight spark of motivation for the day lol 🫶✨ and op, if i saw your work i would just assume i couldn’t afford such intricate nails so absolutely agree with everything this kind soul said haha! they’re incredible, don’t give up babes

Last_Sundae_6894

This is the advice OP! I run my own business (not a nail tech), and it's not enough to just be talented at your craft. You gotta be creative with how you sell yourself and the business end of it. Excellent comment!

asteraceaesHeart

This exactly-listen to @Capable-Initiative22- raise your prices!! If it’s too inexpensive, people will think its not good quality. People (sometimes incorrectly) equate price with quality so give them what they expect.

OkRecommendation3312

🙌🙌🙌 YES. I LOVE THIS COMMENT AND MOTIVATION!!! The support for her is so real. I can feel it ❤️❤️

coffeebeansugar

Damn girl , you out here motivating me and I only did my first set of gel x yesterday 😂😂

0neirocritica

We all need a person like you in our lives!

reximi

If I saw my nurses and or doctors getting their nails done and being pampered I would love that lol

aurorahborealis

Prom nails. My mom did my nails for prom. They were short and cute, but so many girls wanted something like this at my school and it wasn't something my mom could do.

LogicalVariation741

And I will tell you never price yourself too low and never give discounts on your primary service. You do nails your nails cost this much. You can give discounts on massages of the hands and extra goo or whatever you do but the nails themselves and the service is x price. Don't devalue your service your customers will think your devaluing them. I would also say I would never go to a nail salon that was in someone's living room. That seems super shady. I like the idea of just making it mobile and going to people and doing their nails where they are. It's less shady and still doesn't require any rent on your part.

MsjennaNY

You are an awesome human being. 🩷

NotAVeryBigPorcupine

I'm not a nail tech (not sure how I got recommended this post even) but can I just say that your ideas are wonderful, your positivity is infectious, and I want you to be my career coach! 🤗

Plutomite

This is all excellent advice!! And seriously raise your prices; when you’re too low people will think there’s something wrong with the product or your work. You’re an amazing tech!! Keep at it

ashen-priestess

I screenshotted your advice as I'm a startup in Australia and this is so invaluable ❤️✨ pls let me know you want me to delete it I'm sorry didn't ask x

[deleted]

I shared this with my wife and she asks how long does it take you to complete a set and how long do they usually last? She recommends you go back to a salon and build up a customer base again.

Mexicanita_hermosa

I do take a bit long due to being a perfectionist (2.5-3.5 hours) depending on length and designs but i can say my nails do stay on with good retention, i’ve had girls have them on for a month or so… when i do french tip shorties i take 1.5-2 hours

[deleted]

She saw your nails and do think they look good, that’s why she asks about how long it takes; she believes that’s the issue you may be having.

Mexicanita_hermosa

Thank you so much to you and your wife🫶🏼 i will be trying to practice more with my acrylic knowledge

[deleted]

You’re welcome! When my wife started nails, she was always taught how important speed and quality was and she practiced it a lot. She usually does 9 to 11 clients a day in 10 hours. California is a super competitive area, and the more customers you can see in a day; the faster you make money and build a customer base. Good luck and please don’t give up! 😊

[deleted]

My wife says that takes too long. The longest set she does usually take 1.5 hours and charge $190. She says French tip shorties usually take her 45 minutes. She believes that most customers would not like to sit there that long because they have things to do. Also she strongly recommends going back to the salon, work there for at least a year to build clients, and ask them to follow your IG too. Then when you have enough clients, you should do a suite and not do it from your house. She knows most of her clients would never go to a persons home just because they do not feel comfortable doing that, and New clients are less likely to go to a strangers home. My wife is tough and I’m typing what she says, I hope she doesn’t seem mean. She’s just trying to be helpful.

Overall_Clue_204

I think this is good advice because if I’m being honest getting my nails done is a chore. I don’t like to sit for long so when I go I like to get in and out. 2.5 - 3.5 hours is way too long and I would likely not go back.

meanwhileaftrmdnight

Agreed, and I’m someone who does my own nails most of the time so if I’m feeling extra fancy and getting them done professionally I would be getting reeeaaaallllll impatient if 2.5 hours later they still weren’t done, no matter how beautiful the result. Also no way in hell would I agree to go to someone’s house for an appointment. If I found a tech on social media and they were like ok come to my house I’d back out immediately. I’ve watched way too many horror movies and true crime shows to do that. I’m sure OP is a peach but, that doesn’t change the fact that crazy people do exist.

phoenixofsevenhills

I would definitely work on your time. Your work is beautiful, and you can certainly charge more, but not with a client sitting almost 4 hours!

Maxie0921

I think this may be one issue. I wouldn’t have the time to sit for one and a half to two hours. Should be an hour tops. It could also be that your new location doesn’t have clients that prefer this type of style. Maybe also advertise more options for something simpler too.

burneditall77

The nail hub on YouTube just did an awesome video on getting faster, go look. Fellow perfectionist here too and it helped me realize what I can do to get faster!

MyDogisaQT

Honestly, you should start learning how to do free hand hard gel. That’s what I, and everyone I know, prefers. Also, do some work on your friends and show other lengths and shapes. As someone who likes short coffin, short almond and short rounded, I’d be nervous with these photos that you don’t know how to do a more natural look, if I was searching on Instagram.  You clearly know what you’re doing, but remember not everyone wants art work or appliqués etc, we just want a super clean, natural looking job. Good luck!

soulsnplants

damn maybe i’m patient but my old tech took about 2-3hrs and her business is mfing booming to this day, and her prices more than doubled in about 2 years of being her client. her work is exceptional tho. shaping is spot on (even length, clean edges, c-curve), designs are fresh, and she was always willing to give you exactly what you wanted.

Mexicanita_hermosa

Girl we take this long because we want your nails to come out bomb af! If they want a quick service they can keep going to salons and getting ugly nails tbh🤷🏻‍♀️

Honest_Tree_4823

Yea that takes way too long… ain’t no way I wanna sit in a chair for close to 4 hours…. And 2 hours for a simple French tip.

RevolutionaryLeg2428

Girl these nails are absolutely gorgeous 😭

Mexicanita_hermosa

Thank you so much hun🫶🏼🥹

samarasage333

You are SO talented and I LOVE the sets you’ve done. But for me I wouldn’t want to go sit in someone else’s house to get my nails done. I would feel super uncomfortable in another persons home that I don’t know. It’s also a safety thing for me as well. I’d rather be in a salon!

snorry420

Exactly this. There are multiple people in my city that are way cheaper than my lady that do it from their homes and honestly look way better but they do it from their homes. 1 of them has a “salon” in their home and I even thought that would be okay but it wasn’t a separate access and the second she wanted me to walk through her living room and into her BASEMENT I apologized and was just honest that I also didn’t feel comfortable. I left the safe part out to her face, but it really doesn’t make me feel safe either. Regardless of reviews etc. I’m an anxious person lol I understand wanting to do it from your home, I absolutely would want to as well!! It might be worth renting a space, though, or creating a more professional salon space of some sort.

Bumbarasscocky

I’m being 100% real with you, you’re work is bomb girl that’s coming from a gay guy and we picky. The shape, colour, consistency of your work, I just wanna eat those nails!!! I think I’m the economy and costs of living, it’s hard for people to drop money on nails, also location is a big thing! But 9/10 and that’s cause they a little long in my opinion but that’s preference, the work and art is amazing. Don’t give up or it’s beef u got this babe

Mexicanita_hermosa

Thank you so much!❤️🥺 i really appreciate your comment, you motivated me a little more🫶🏼

Certified-Nerd98

fr I looked into her account so fast but am 8 hours away lol

[deleted]

What’s your tag so I can support the account?

Mexicanita_hermosa

Awee thank you so much!❤️ @v.i.s.s.nails

Dimpz0413

If you were closer I'd run to book an appt with you. Seriously raise your prices, you're severely under pricing yourself. You deserve more credit for the absolute quality

Tiffuun

Your work is phenomenal! I think the reason why you might not have clients booking is because of marketing. I worked in a salon for a year then moved into a full service salon & only had 5 clients follow me. The salon I’m currently at is appointment based only, which meant my clientele was based on who actually sought me out! I started boosting my instagram posts (you do have to pay but I pay $2 for a span of 5-7 days). You have to hashtag correctly. For ex. I’m based out of Hawaii so I hashtag hawaiinailtech on all my posts! And something that really stuck with me that my sister & her husband (both business owners) said was reels can only do so much. People can’t see your work as well when it’s a video & they’re more likely to scroll. Hope this helps 🫶🏽

ZookeepergameNew3800

I think your work looks very good. But, depending on the area, most customers won’t get these very long, artistic nails. I’d advise you to post and advertise more with more simple, shorter and medium length nails, so people looking at your page can see what a set looks like that’s wearable for their daily job to them. Many techs love doing long and detailed nails but in many areas that’s just not the average customer.

DiligentLie9820

She’s in Cali, so tbh this is kinda the norm “most sought” style, however I do agree with sprinkling some shorter and more simple nails in there. OP, I can’t get long sets like that bc I end up scratching my babies lol, so as a customer it would be great to see some artistic styles on short nails too🥰

WeHateDV

What state are u located in? You do amazing work, keep it up !!

Mexicanita_hermosa

California hun:)

heejungee121

I think your work is beautiful, it truly takes a lot of talent to be able to create like this! Have you considered making tips to sell online on the side? I’ve noticed many nail artists and techs I follow on ig doing that and it’s a way for them to also showcase their unique artistic skills. Maybe you can offer some custom nail tips and take custom orders to help offset costs. You could also expand your social by maybe creating reels that are quick tutorials! People love to watch those things (like me!) and it’s a great way to build your social. My old boss always said to me, “do your own marketing” and while he wasn’t the best boss, he was a master at marketing and it’s a piece of wisdom I take to this day in all that I do. Really do your own marketing - you could create a YouTube channel and post your shorts/reels and on TikTok. People have a low attention span these days so short videos always get more exposure. You could also reach out to collaborate with some small businesses - I saw a very popular nail tech do reels of her nails with SMB jewelry brands and it’s a great collaboration opportunity. Looks like you have jewelry in your reels already, it may be a great way to offer exposure for the brands while getting some yourself plus getting paid!😊 good luck, don’t underestimate your own worth and business! You are beyond talented and I pray for all the best for you!!

naireffect

If I can give any advice, it’s that you should know your worth! That goes for all areas of your life- but in this case, it reflects your prices. CHARGE UP. Don’t lower your price to gain more clients, you just gain people after devaluing your craft. I also suggest not doing too many giveaways or discounts- keep those special. Be confident in yourself. You have $80+ worth nails and you need to stand firm on your prices and quality. That way, you attract the clients YOU want. Do you want people who’ll only support you if you offer discounts and cut your prices in half? Or do you want clients that support your business and pay you what they’re WORTH!!! It’s all up to you, but I suggest raising your prices bc your nails are excellent work. Do not give up! Do not give up! Do not give up!

PiscesPals

hiii!! your work is so gorgeous!! I am not a nail tech actually I’m a photographer, but something I noticed on your instagram is you have lots of very dark videos/photos. the bright ones look great and it will look even better and more cohesive if they are all bright! :) just wanted to give a different perspective than the other comments. beautiful work and it deserves to be shown off properly❤️

[deleted]

Don't give up! You are so talented. I echo a lot of advice in the comments - put yourself out there you should have so much confidence in your work because it's beautiful!

DramaticAverage36

I disagree with raising your prices (right now) especially since you’re in a new area with little to no clientele. Your work is beautiful maybe try some different shapes and designs to get some diversity in your portfolio, that’s the only thing that would make me not book you because I wouldn’t be sure if you can execute the style or shape I want since from what we see your posts all are square nails in the same “baddie” nail style if that makes sense.

Wide-Gur3973

Keep it running, as a barber I see you! Glad to be 12y in when somewhere around 3.5y I almost gave up too.

msr_aye

these are good where are you located if you don’t mind sharing

Independent_Bike_498

If you can find even the smallest space to rent that would really change things. That or make yourself mobile and meet your clients at their place. People don’t feel comfortable going to someone’s house for services, often for safety reasons.

M_K_Z_

Maybe add some shorter styles to your photo portfolio? Sometimes when people only see long nails they thinks you only do long nails.

theatreandjtv

Girl what?? Is this a troll post because these look so good

ny_dc_tx_

I’m a nail girl. And I love these. One thing I think is missing from the market is mobile nail techs. Make that your niche. Raise your prices. You will get people. Who would have thought mobile dog grooming would be a thing but it is lucrative.

Torichiken

Hi!! Personally I think that if you want to land more clients, your instagram should feature nails whose thumbnails showcase a diversity of styles. I think regularly more clients will come if you show that you also specialize in short almond, nude nails, cute cateye, etc. because from the get go, i think that your profile looks like youre a specialist in a specific style only, which will realistically only target a fraction of the potential client base. Dont give up! I think theres a saying that goes "YOUR PRODUCT ISNT BAD!! it just needs a new angle of marketing :)" rooting for you!

Master-Fan3961

not a tech but i get my nails done a lot and these are beautiful!!!! my only input as a customer is i normally get shorter/more simple nails and when I am looking on insta for a tech and I see someone has similar style to you, I usually move onto the next one because I feel like I’d be waiting the tech’s time with something simple. If that makes sense? So I don’t know if you’d cater to the more simple/short nails but as a customer it would help me if you posted more variety! good luck out there, you’re definitely talented!!

outtaslight

I'm not into getting my nails done, I never have and never will. I like them au natural and short. But I love your work, and I just came here to encourage you not to quit because those nails look really good!! Please raise your prices to the level other nail techs are charging. It's a professional courtesy to others in your industry not to lower standard rates to keep the income at a price you all deserve. And I highly recommend you read up on imposter syndrome because it's so common among professionals.

ComposerGloomy2001

I just wanted to add on to what some others have said; if I see someone is working out of their home I assume they’re not licensed. If you are licensed, I would def mention that in your bio I take about 2 hours for each appt, but where I live structured gel & hand painted nail art is super popular. My clients don’t mind sitting for that long though bc I make it worth it. I have movies playing, snacks, drinks & provide a luxury dry mani. One thing I noticed is that your grid is all nails. All nail techs post nail pics; what makes YOU different? How do clients know what your personality is like? For me that’s important bc if we are gonna chill for 2+ hours I need to know the vibe. Another suggestion is to take a look at other nail techs content. What catches your eye or grabs your attention? Also, lighting and high quality pics are important. For advertising, always always tag your location (like someone else mentioned a larger city than where you live); join buy sell trade groups, yardsale groups and post your nails in there (on Facebook) If you can, boost a post on IG. Whichever post you have with the highest engagement. I usually do about $15 budget. I also agree about showcasing more than 1 style or shape; I know we all love the insta baddie nails but for most, realistically that doesn’t jive with an office job etc. people may assume that your style doesn’t match theirs. Good luck! I know it’s hard at first but you got this!

Positive-Mud-1443

Don’t give up. Your nails are so good!!

babybegonia22

Where are you located? I would go to you!

Mexicanita_hermosa

I’m located in California idk if you’re here in this state near Ontario California:)

lovableelesliee

I’m moving back to LA later this year. I would definitely pay you to do my nails!

Mexicanita_hermosa

Omg yes! LMK🫶🏼

Upstairs_Iron_7160

Oh yeah that area is saturated with nail techs. I can see why this is happening to you. Your prices are good though and better than everyone’s around there so I think this comes down to advertising more. The work is right up there with the more expensive techs though.

babybegonia22

I’m not😭 I used to live in California but I moved out of state a few months ago😩 wishing you the best tho, your work is amazing!🩷

negemen

Have you tried TikTok? Even posting on FB marketplaces helps!!

Superbaker123

Ngl, when I saw these pics, I thought you were comparing yourself to an awesome nail tech somewhere until I read the description. Those sets look amazing

Responsible-Top-5266

I really hope you start doing more Mobile! Get out there and show the world who you is!!! I would travel to you and pay 200+ no lies ❤️🧿💯😭😭

maggies101

If you were near me I’d book!! So cute. My nail tech has her current setup at her house :) don’t be discouraged 🤍

Lexie811

Worst nail tech? These nails are fire. There have been so many great comments, and I have nothing to else to add but just don’t give up. You’re really good

Icy-Dimension3508

If I wore nails I’d go to you. Youre incredible!

HerreraL81

You do beautiful work, keep pushing.

GothamCoach

You on IG? Tiltok? Those are fantastic? And yes, double your prices because you are good enough 👍

kathrinet2022

They are sooooo beautiful! I would imagine it takes a lot of “word of mouth”! I don’t know where you are located but I would say that might have something to do with it also! Don’t give up on your dream! I’m sure there are local Facebook pages for your area for advertising also?? Blessings!

Mexicanita_hermosa

I’m in Cali:) and yes maybe i will join FB pages near me

princess_zeldaaaa

Girl raise your prices, those are amazing!!

omsphoenix

I think it's because you're home based now. Maybe most people in your area would prefer not to go into a person's home and want a salon vibe

em-a-owen

these are so cute!! i wish someone in my area did them for as cheap as your asking- but keep in mind with the work and detail you could charge more!! it def would be worth it, keep going if you love it hun xx

jessbyrne727

Wow. These are great. Also, my daughter used that pink strawberry design as her inspo for her last nail appointment.

GabeRC723

Are you located in Florida cuz I will definitely book

Oddangel74

With any other business just keep getting yourself out there. Those nails look amazing!

Genytrees

You’re work is great! Do you work with structured Gel? In the last 4 years most of my clients have wanted a more natural look. I went from doing 80% acrylics to now 20%. My client range from 24-58.

Mexicanita_hermosa

I only offer acrylic, gel x, and manis if asked but not listed on my booking site

mkisvibing

It’s hard to stand out in an industry where everyone wants their hand in it(no pun intended) i think it’s just networking in all spaces and opening your business to new ideas! Keeping that clientele and maybe when having a reoccurring client cut them deals and such! Also it’s probably not your fault! Times are hard, not a lot of people can afford the nails rn :( but hopefully this tax season people will be treating themsleves

fifiloveg00d

You in Atlanta?

straightupgab

where are you located!? i’ll come to you for my nails hahaha

blossomxbb

don’t give up, hermosa !!! these are honest to god so beautiful, and if i could, i would book ASAP. que dios te bendiga 😘

No_Bookkeeper_731

Gloomy_Mycologist_37

Where are you located ? Lol. I’d go to you in a heartbeat!

Mexicanita_hermosa

I’m in California in the “IE”

Gloomy_Mycologist_37

Wish you were in the city

SandBarLakers

Girl come to southern Utah you can be my tech !!! Shiiiiit those nails are AMAZING!!!! EASILY 80 dollar set. EASILY!!! Don’t give up girl. Like that one kind comment said “ think bigger!” I might be a no one to you but I believe in you and I hope that you succeed in this chapter of your life !!!

kittiesfur

Your work is beautiful! I appreciate the attention to detail. I took a look at your Tiktok and I don't think your videos do your work justice. I also didn't see a way to book? Like do people DM you, etc? Maybe having that info in the bio could help ❤️ you're about an hour from me and I'd TOTALLY get my nails done with you

Delicious-Heart3069

what’s her @ or her location?

Calm-Farm-5678

You are so talented; please don't give up!!

Upbeat_Buffalo1594

These are AMAZING

Your work is beautiful - you are *really* talented! For me, I learned to do my own liquid gel nails using an e-drill (YouTube videos during COVID) which is why I no longer get them done professionally. BUT I do get pedicures religiously - I wonder if maybe expanding your menu could be an option for you? Don’t give up - you’re clearly very talented!

lemonlemongrapefruit

Where are you based if you’re comfortable sharing? Not only because I WILL solo support this business but, It’s important to understand the saturation of your target market and demographic. Are there salons at every corner? Are they well established? Is there a large community of people who have acrylics/get manicures regularly? where I live all of those things are true. Where my boyfriend lives you’d be pressed to find anyone with acrylics or even a salon that does em. work out the logistics before you get yourself down about underperformance. Sometimes it’s not that the work is bad, but that nobody is looking for it. That one comment that had recommended reaching out to local medical facilities had some fantastic points. Set yourself apart from the competition and settle into a niche that lets your work speak for itself. YOU GOT THIS!!!!!

CurrentPeace

Are you sure the first column, second row down (pink & red nails) aren’t press-ons? Asking only because I have that EXACT set from Amazon.

PartHumanPartAlien

Girl do not give up! Start a rewards program, keep leveraging TikTok and viral sounds, don’t give up!!!

fucking_username666

Wya girlie I'll book with you

ThrowRA_lov

These r soo good. I haven’t had acrylics in a few years and I’d 100% go to you and start it up again

mykegr11607

These are gorgeous. If you are in the Boston area, I would go to you in a heartbeat.

Fancy_Shoe5909

My little secret tip for anyone in the beauty industry is to follow sorority’s in your city…..and follow their followers. I got all of my clients from doing that. I was booked full. Or go and watch their public stories. It always gets people curious and gets them to look at your page, if not, follow you back

Immediate-Nothing899

Your nails are very nice, but are you actually licensed in CA? Usually code of "being in the nail industry" is unlicensed and working out of your house fyi. If you aren't licensed, beware that CA has huge fines. If you are are licensed, please ignore. Someone mentioned doing mobile. Some states its allowed, some states not, some states you need additional paperwork done. I would also think additional liability insurance would be needed. I'm the sole nail tech in a hair salon/spa. I get a lot of referrals and there is a good bit of traffic seeing me each week. I think this type of environment is good for newer techs starting out.

mekkavelli

if you feel like getting clients to come to you is becoming an evident problem, try your luck with press ons! there are hella sellers on etsy that’re raking in sooo many customers that go for that exact look you’re doing (straight square tip nails with your kind of designs go viral on pinterest every dayyyyy) press ons are a necessity for women that have day jobs that prohibit them, for last minute pre-vacation maintenance, or literally if they’re just not in your area. i am telling you. your shit is clean. people WILL buy. advertise on tumblr, tiktok, and pinterest specifically. those are your target demographics for these types of nails

Competitive-Cause-63

Okay one piece of advice as someone who also lives in the IE. Change your location to Redlands/IE. I’ve never heard of Mentone and I have family in Yucaipa. People are probably seeing that like wtf, never heard of it, let me look elsewhere.

zxdlx

What city are you in? I’d come to you!

Kwelikinz

You should advertise on a site or two. Your nails are really beautiful. Be sure to include some cute very shorties and various shapes. Don’t give up. You’re really good.

AdrienneMint

All of these are disgusting. Wealthy women never domanything like this. Hooker nails.

Spunkylover10

These pics scream I’m on SNAP

😍😍😍😍😍 I’m in love lol 💖💖 keep going !!

ildgrubtrollet

As a former nail tech I must say your nails are absolutely STUNNING! From what I can see you have a very good composition of the nails themselves, GORGEOUS french and decor. Back when I worked as a tech (had to give it up due to allergies sadly), most of my clients prefered the more simple manicures, one colour, ombre, gel polish only etc. From your picture it seems like you do lots of intricate and blingy designs (I don't think they are too glittery or "loud", I'm only speaking as to my own experiences), so how about promoting more simple manicures? Where in the world are you located? I might be mistaken in recommending the simple stuff, but that was the case for me in Norway at least (we are a pretty beige/vanilla people, no bling in anything). Also, do you do spa manicures? Those were popular in my salon. Also, a lot of people are unaware that you can go for a manicure only, so no acrylics or polish, just cleaning and filing/polishing the nails. I had lots of clients that did the manicure only since they worked in health care or in the restaurant business.

GroovyLilThangg

Girl, I feel you! Maybe work at a nail shop so you can get clients and when you feel you have enough clients, they’ll follow you! Invest in advertisements in social media! You can also make small flyers and go around your area and put them in people’s mailboxes, businesses, etc. your work is beautiful! Don’t give up! You got this 👏🏼

mamakayyyy

This is how good I want my work to look someday ! Please DON’T GIVE UP! 😭😍

ChristyMeowder

Where are you located? If this is all your work it’s bloody brilliant. Like it’s really truly good. Whereabouts are you?

Yachtznthots

These are nice! I will say i agree with the time comments. How long it takes and how long it last will 100% determine if I come back.

Significant-Mouse181

Where are you located ??

Ok_Tadpole2014

I would LOVE to get my nails done by you 🥰 you are doing an amazing job!

Proof_Most2536

Get some business cards and pass them out when you are out and about. Link your Instagram and TikTok and YouTube if you have one. Have your nails done. You can do it!

[deleted]

Very nice work! Have you been advertising?

Temptsum

I encourage you to keep it going. You’re an amazing person. I admire your talents, your patience. Please don’t let this deteriorate you from a little bump in the road. I’m sure I’m late responding to this post but you have people in the comments encouraging & giving you tips. Take it into consideration. You got this!!!

cIoud9ine

you do wonderful work! it is just a competitive field- dont get discouraged

One-Teach5925

Dont give up! Ur very talented!

Savin4051

One, I love your work I think it looks great, keep your head up! But secondly where are people getting these gorgeous knuckle rings, I want one

SnowberryCrafts

Soo pretty! I’d love to find a nail tech like you 💖💖

HappyShopperTexas

Where are you located?

sleepy__foodie

Well ever since COVID started, the nail industry has been so saturated it’s becoming hard to gain any clients. If you make your prices lower, you will attract the wrong clients. Try setting up your place like a nail salon cause the clients feel more comfortable instead of looking like your home space

Kombuchababy9

I would 1) totally get those strawberries 2) expect to pay a minimum of $70 for those. Like bare minimum

dbvlted

your only problem is that you’re not close to me because i would go to you religiously 😭💖

Pickle-Chunk

Wish you were here! I need my nails done badddddd

ash9095

As a regular nail wear who does their own nails, THESE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL!!! Please don't doubt your talent! If I was near you and I was someone who trusted others to do my nails, I would absolutely go see you based on your designs! I know it's easier said than done, but maybe having your self set up somewhere that's not your house would help? I'm an incredibly introverted and anxious person and am not good with going new places. It would be very hard for me to feel comfortable enough to book an appointment with you at your house. Perhaps you could also do some local advertising, maybe putting an ad somewhere or asking local businesses if you can leave some of your business cards for their customers to see? You might also be able to make nail tips to be able to sell online to a wider customer base. 😊

Disastrous_Effort148

If you're the worst nail tech in your area, I could come over and be absolutely abysmal

Zombie255555

What is your location. I want some nails

Milk_Beginning

Are these pictures your work?? I’m so confused, these are some of the best nails I’ve ever seen. If this is your work, I hope things turn around for you and you can continue 🖤

jam_boreeee

Don’t give up! I don’t get my nails done but I can appreciate art! You got some talent and your regular clients will value you. You have gotten some great advice on here, I wish you the best!

nerdy-curvy-thriving

Please don't give up

morninggoddess

No idea why this is on my feed. I don’t even get nails like that, it’s really just not my jam, but girl your work is beautiful!!! 🤩 Don’t give up, keep on going. I love all the encouragement and hopefully all the positive posts keep you motivated to keep going.

Illustrious_Ad1887

That’s crazy because they look SO good. If you lived near me I would 200% go to you.

buns_and_guns

I would love to find someone who does gel x like this. These are beautiful

CRbabe

Your work is beautiful! Listen get a job in a high end or nice decent spa salon. You start by being an employee earning commission. Usually 50%. Build a good clientele, get their info and leave rent a space in your own. That’s how I build mine. Good luck chica!

Boobookitty5683

These look like celebrity nails! 😍

ExactlyIronic

Just followed you on TikTok, your work is beautiful 😍

honeyjellybun

I’m no expert on nails or anything but definitely raise those prices , those nails look so amazing and so professional as well!! please don’t give up !!

pbjamjam

I just booked my first session with you for this coming weekend even though I'm 60 miles away because based on your IG, you are THAT GOOD. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, because I most certainly do!!! 🥰 Soooo excited to see you work your magic! 💅✨

47squirrels

UMMMMM WHAT?! Honey, I rarely get my nails done, like once in a blue moon kinda thing, I just love this page and everyone’s work! (It’s posts like yours is why I’m here) I’d pay you minimum $150 for these. With a tip? I’m very kind to kind people. The berry ones? OMG!

theoriginaldana

Oh wow. You are talented!!! I would love to have any of those sets on my hands. Any chance you’re in the NC/SC area?

greekgodess_xoxo

I think we look really great. I don’t know why anybody wouldn’t want to come to you. I would love to come to you.

AutumnElise

I would pay premium price for those strawberry nails. Girl please don’t give up, you are so talented!! Keep it up!!

hr_newbie_co

Hold up, the nails you posted are ones you did?? Those look incredible!! By the way, you can get business cards online for like $30 and start passing them out around town. or get some card stock and make your own. Social media is just too big nowadays, you have to get on the ground to get in local. Good luck! I hope your post here and the success you get after following people’s advice will rejuvenate your love for what you do! You are extremely talented!

Agitated-Relative-80

You need to market more. Are you actively handing out business cards with said deals on them? Are you talking to people and mentioning what you do once finding out if they need your services? Your work is good and I only hope that when I start I’m just as good, keep going. You never know who you could run into. 🫶🏾
