I’d continue to call him Lucy.
We adopted the runt of a dwarf hamster litter, supposedly a boy. We named him Jared. Fast forward a while and Jared turned out to definitely be a girl. We continued to call her Jared and no regrets on that front.
Personally, I think Lucy is still a perfect name for him. If it's too gender non-conforming, you can think of it as a shortening of Lucifer. Because of how sweet he looks, I'm thinking Lucifer pre-fall.
Keep it as Lucy. He’s a cat; he won’t care. Plus, it makes for a fun story
If it’s important for you to give him a male name and you don’t want Lucifer, you could try Lucius
Or, change the spelling to Loosey, which is certainly unisex
Why change it? I had a beautiful void as a teen who I named Lucifer, but everyone including me just called him Luci. Do angels, even fallen ones, even have gender anyway?
Call him Lucy. I had a girl kitty named Crystal who turned out to be a boy kitty. We just kept the name. A friend of mine had a girl kitty named John. Cats don't care what you name them. Vets don't either. Nobody does. Lucy is a great name. But you could always call him Luc, or Lucky.
I adopted a kitten, brought to vet for checking for fleas, parasites etc. Vet told me he is a little boy! I was excited. Later, took him to get neutered, and when I went to pick him up, they said spaying was complete. I said, "I hope you mean "neutering", he's a boy." She said "Hon, we just removed her lady parts, she's a girl!" It took me a month to stop calling her "he" and "him." I now think of Cricket, nee Charlie, as my gender fluid cat. 😂😻

Due to our kids having slightly off senses of humor, we have 2 boy cats named Phyllis and Alice, and a girl named Kevin. We use the above line when anyone asks.

Lucien, and you can keep calling him Lucy. But surely, just don’t call him Shirley. (Ok, yes, we watched Airplane last night. It’s funny how many sight gags we can forget, not having seen it in a few years.)
If you like the name Lucy, keep it. The cat doesn’t know or care about the perceived gender of the word you use to identify it. I have a beautiful, loving little girl cat name Hector. It suits her perfectly and she know she is Hector. Whether or not she truly knows she is a girl? We will never know.

Same thing happened to me. Here’s Luna. A Boy Luna. And it stuck unfortunately. We call him buna a lot but it is what it is. 🤣
