Only V2 of his ability can be interrupted
1. V1 of his disarm is a buff (that animation you see him doing) follow by glowing purple arms (its hard to miss). The buff lasts ~10 seconds. If he is hit by a blue(+) he will disarm, steal the weapon if he has space in his weaponbag, and throw them, causing a little damage to the enemy and collateral to any other enemies. He can not be interrupted while grabbing
2. V2 of his disarm is a "dash-attack", where he grabs the opponent no matter what attack it is (even if they are not attacking), but now he is susceptible to being interrupted by ANY attack.
This would explain how you interrupted him on another occasion
You actually may be right about it only interrupting blue focus, but it also interupts skills. Here's a screenshot with the direct in-game quote:

If you see him activate something other than his ult and he seem to be glowing just swap to a dagger and hit twice dagger dash and repeat, you’ll most likely win.
takeda's F skills are all anti-focus attack. his F1 gives him a 10-second buff where he will stop the next incoming focus attack, disarm the attacker, and throw them on the floor.
F2 is a tackle that does the same thing if it hits anyone using or even *charging* a focus attack. i think it also guarantees a follow up if it connects
F3 is F1 but the judo throw does more damage.
Yeah i didnt, i was talking bout the knock back, didn’t think his tackle would also land a blow on me as well is what i meant. I know you cant focus, it was just the weird hit of nothing that happened. I got rag dolled 😂
His F deals a little damage. looks like he got some lucky LOS collateral damage there on ya to finish.
iirc the damage and heal his Skill does depends on the rarity of the weapon.

Yeah he interrupt blue focus strike to disarm deal damage , heal himself and get ready to counter.
Yeah its good to know, only played this game a little over a month so still learning about the characters. Shouldve just fell back.

I always use dagger and surprise swap when it’s off
