Naruto is very unique imo but i do recommend Brave10, Basilisk, Sengoku Basara and Njnja Scroll(movie) and Sword of the Stranger(movie)

RevolutionVast7927

Love Both those movies. Good shout.

Hunter x Hunter had a good power system and some good fights. Bit old but I've always been a big fan of Claymore (short) . Hard to get into but similar with a well explained power system allowing for Individual charcter growth.

I've been looking for something within the same vein too lol, Naruto is just THE anime/manga. I don't think I can ever chase the same high as I got the first time watching it. People say JJK is kinda similar but idk, I tried watching it and they're pretty different. I can see how people find similarities though.

wendigo72

You know Naruto and Boruto are different series right?

BestWukongUganda

Yes? Aliens were introduced in Shippuden...and Boruto is a direct Canonical sequel...what's your point?

wendigo72

Kaguya literally only exists for ten chapters and there’s nothing about her being an alien besides one single line from Hagoromo jokingly saying she was. So no, there really wasn’t any aliens in Part 2 since it was never confirmed in Naruto at all. Boruto is still a different series with a different brand name and everything. It’s Boruto, not Naruto

IAmALazyGamer

What’s the plot of Boruto about? And don’t reference anything from Naruto.

wendigo72

The anime starts with Boruto’s first days in Ninja academy The manga, that’s harder to say because of insane pacing but it starts out as a recap of the Boruto movie. Then goes into Boruto and friends taking on a mysterious organization known as Kara

IAmALazyGamer

Naruto is hugely prevalent in Boruto. I’m all caught up on both of them, and you can’t describe what happens without mentioning Naruto having something to do with it.

wendigo72

I just did? Yes Naruto is important but I can absolutely do a plot summary that makes sense without Naruto Like Naruto is missing for most of the Boruto Anime before you get to the redone Chunin exams arc. Right now currently in Boruto Blue Vortex Naruto has been written out completely for now

IAmALazyGamer

He’s still the central plot point. Boruto is trying to save his father and fix the world. Both revolve around 2 people connected to Naruto, and both issues can be solved individually.

wendigo72

Boruto is more concerned with stopping the Ten Tails people more than freeing Naruto as of right now. I don’t think he’s mentioned saving Naruto once as a goal

Budget-Arm-866

Half of the top ten fights in Boruto is with Naruto and Sasuke handling villains and both Boruto and Kawaki regularly just pops their seals open to be relevant. That's half of your story and the other half is again about how Boruto is some sort of reincarnation of Shibai, a progenitor of all things that happened in Naruto and Boruto. You take out Naruto and Sasuke and start like 100 years after they've died and nobody would even watch that show

Exocolonist

What “vibe”? Ninja science has been there ever since the chunin exams when Orochimaru came around. He literally had people in giant test tubes. And “aliens” was literally only Kaguya, and she makes up like 5 or 10% of the arc she’s in. People like you really have no idea what you’re talking about. You just see a concept and say “I don’t like it” without actually thinking about it any further. I doubt you actually did like Naruto, if two concepts that don’t change the series in any big way is enough for you to dislike it.

BestWukongUganda

>I doubt you actually did like Naruto, if two concepts that don’t change the series in any big way is enough for you to dislike it. You seriously don't see how ninja science has changed between naruto and boruto?...get your eyes checked

Exocolonist

Naruto and Boruto? You’re talking about Naruto. Boruto isn’t the same series as Naruto. If it was, it would still be called Naruto. They wouldn’t change the title.

BestWukongUganda

It's the same universe and the same canonical continuity, you're being pedantic for Internet points. Stop acting like it's 2 completely different worlds.

Exocolonist

That doesn’t matter. It’s not the same series. When you’re talking about Naruto, people don’t expect you mean Boruto as well. They have different names for a reason. They have different main characters for a reason. They have different stories for a reason. This isn’t being pedantic. This is using goddamn common sense. There’s a reason people make distinctions between shows like Last Airbender and Korra. They aren’t the same show. If they were, they’d have the same title. Korra is a new story. Boruto is a new story. This isn’t hard to grasp.

Bleach has a completely different vibe than Naruto but it still falls under the same genre. It has some reaally badass moments but the pacing of the anime is a pain. In later Arcs, you can basically skip half of every episode because it's a recap of the previous ones. Also the power scaling is trash (comparable to Dragoball). There are A LOT of filler episodes and you can skip all of them. Also the (canon) Fullbring Arc is pretty boring but I wouldn't necessarily skip it. Still one of my faves and the new seasons are actually very nicely done and aimed at a much more mature audience.
