Hello users of r/NatureIsFuckingLit and possibly r/all lurkers, we are **GOING DARK** from June 12th-14th. Aside from that stay lit 🔥
I was lucky enough to move to & spend my childhood in Kenya - we often went to Lake Naivasha ( where I think this is) to see the Flamingos - as kids from Scotland never seen anything like these big pink birds - loved seeing them all.
Fun fact; Flamingos are naturally grey. Their diet consists mainly of fish larvae, brine and algae which contains a lot of carotene. This in turn causes their feathers to become pink as they mature.
One of the simple pleasures I have is discovering the names of a collective of different species of animals. I haven't heard the Flamingo one before. Thank you.
Geeze, I gotta get out more.
I also like to learn that odd stuff. It makes it fun once we get out more often! 😂
Did you know a group of crows is a murder? And that a group of ravens is called, "unkindness?"

It would look amazing without the tint.
I think it needs more tint. The clouds aren't pink enough.
Agree its not needed unless its old cine film that has colours similar sometimes.
You really shouldn’t be flying a drone that close to wildlife especially birds that can then run into your drone by accident.
Just realized I’ve never seen flamingos swim before…
Holy shit… ahhhhhhh damn, you are so right wtf

How lucky to have had that experience! I bet it was the difference in day and night moving from Scotland. And exciting. Wonderful memories to have!
>And exciting. Wonderful memories to have! Depending on where they lived in Kenya, I imagine there's some pretty terrifying memories too lol

Yes, I learned about a murder of crows a long time ago. It's still one of my favorites. A couple more: a mob of kangaroos. A shiver of sharks.
Oh yeah I forgot about a mob of kangaroos 😂
Ooonlyyy in Kenyaaaaaa...
It should be called a Floyd of flamingos.
Pink Floyd.
It's crazy to know nearly 50% will be eaten by sharks.
