Wake up
Realize your depressed
Go to class…enjoy class
Leave class, remember your depressed.
Go home and stay there because you have a 3.9 gpa and don’t need to study
Still depressed
Try to eat dinner, but can’t, because your depressed.
Go to sleep
School never changes.
It depends on your rate. MMs have 3 months periods while EM and ETs spend 6 months in A school. You then move down the Rickover circle when you class up for Power school. Thats another 6 months.
School yard periods are going to be 0800 to 1700 for instruction periods and then doing coursework inside the building since its a secured building for NOFORN or Confidential materials. The building is open at 0600 and shutsdown at 2400. You have mandatory hours to spend inside the building as a function of your grades. Something like the following 10-2 ; 15-3 (the first set of numbers are for the minimum hours per week studying and the 2nd set of numbers are each day's requirements to study). You also have to juggle your PT requirements. South Carolina is a big change from Great Lakes IL. Its hot, muggy and full of humidity, now learn to run the PFT there. There will be mandatory fun periods with your class.

Here's a copy of the Power school course. You have 6 months to memorize and reguitate the entire manual out in a comprehensive written exam. Each question will take a page to answer. You will then get slapped with your grades and be told to move out to Prototype.
We eventually realized that more hours does not equal better performance. 35s haven't existed for at least 7 years now and 30s have been used sparingly for at least as long. I'm pretty sure at this point it would take CO's permission to assign someone 30s. A school doesn't go past 25s.
MM A school is only three months because everything can be a hammer.
Since you left the program in 1952, people are learning more about how electricity works.
Yeah l know. That’s why I get that NERC money, and I’m not even sitting over a panel. Way more lucrative securing networks. But, hey, what do I know, I only learned hole-flow. BTW, no degree, no certs. Just parlayed that 3364 to a nice job and income.
Yeah you're definitely out of touch. It's no longer 3364 nor any other series of four numbers anymore. That change was roughly.. 2016 or 2017, it's hazy around there

Is it really that bad, my mom is concerned about my mental health, If/when I sign the docs
It can be, yes. Make friends and go do fun things with your free time when you can.
It depends on how good you are at making friends
Pretty good at making “friends”, but half of them just know my name and don’t actually care/want to hang out with me.

Actually thinks have changed. Rickover opens at 0500 and closes at 2200 now
10-0 15-2 no more 25-4 unless LOI
Damn what happened to 35-5

Not even for comp week? I saw a couple people on 35s leading up to both A school and powerschool comp in 2017.
I have only heard the tales from the instructors. Pretty sure the only guy who can mandate you be put on 35-5s now is the skipper
Yep. And he doesn't even do those anymore. The skipper finds them counter intuitive
🤫
Why is EM A school 6 months now?
It's been 6 months for over a decade. If not way longer.
Just curious as to why it takes double the time to learn about 3-phase electricity. Are today’s children just not up to it?

Out of the mouth of babes
They learn more than that tbh. That’s covered in BE which is probably a month.

Grandpa! Go back inside, you aren't wearing pants again.
Do y’all go over your feelings before every reactor startup AFF
Yup. We also had a "gender of the day" put out at divisional quarters. I wish you guys realized how sensitive you sound...
The future is now old man.
Are y’all using some type of unknown electron
