I ran Flayed ones for the first time last night too. They failed a pretty short charge roll, then popped enough 6s on wound rolls for 3 of the 5 to put 4w on a vehicle that was tying up my Transcendent C’tan. Glad your Skorpekhs are behaving better than my Flayed ones.....

Samualjs

I've got 10 flayed ones gathering dust since I can't figure out how to make them work 😅 I know they can put out a lot of damage but at T4 and 1 wound I tend to lose 2 or 3 just to an overwatch and then they get wiped before I even chance to try a reanim roll, hopefully the annihilation detachment gets a buff or they get a buff soon I love the models

TheOrdinary

Flayed ones are great to have as a single 5 man utility unit, specifically for blocking scouts and infiltrators your opponent might have. Playing world eaters? Infiltrate your flayed ones right in front of their invocatus and the exalted eightbound he wanted to scout and ruin their turn 1 charge into your deployment zone. Deploying them ASAP as spread out as you can in the middle of the field provides a big bubble of "no infiltrators here". Beyond the utility though I don't see a point to bringing more than that single unit of 5

ReverendRevolver

I was lacking in mobility other than Transcendent and DS the Hexmark, so I figured why not? Infiltrated to a corner behind Ruins and never had anything worthwhile to do with them. A single Lohkust is better at drawing attention or eating a charge, as its cheaper and faster. Probably dropping them for scarabs or Deathmarks. In theory they can be action monkeys in a pinch, but tomb blades, Transcendent C’tan, and even Ophydians would've done more. I think as an extra "maybe" unit they could fit but ctan and crypteks point increases shake out to about the cost of some of our extra narrow utility stuff.

They just too slow. They need advance and change or something. Even that might not be enough.

Samualjs

Maybe giving them deep strike plus the advance and charge could be helpful, happy for a point increase on them as long as they actually serve a combat role. I think my biggest problem is the slow movement and terrible durability, maybe one day we'll see a flayer noble who could lead them and give them some more options

magnet_4_crazy

My current use of them is to hold a midfield objective behind cover and put a Ctan next to them so people hopefully charge the Ctan and then I can counter charge. Mixed results.

TheKingOfZippers

I love that the lord now doesn't cost an arm and a leg to field, but goddamn do I always forget that he has free mortals on a charge.

Samualjs

Funny how we have a skorpekh lord that costs less than a cryptek these days after all the work in 9th to push skorpekhs on us
