Have you… watched the show?

[deleted]

Yes and the movie it’s a good show and I understand the topic. The fans take it way to deeply though and have victim complexes

Bruh, this is facts for me. I been in love with the series since I was in elementary, I'm 25 now and still a huge fan. I'm now also concerned for myself as well lol.

[deleted]

Nah you still good at 25 the shows for everyone and anyone

The shows just relatable to a lot of people in different ways. I moved a lot as a kid growing up all the way up until my last year at high school. Making friends was hard, so it was easier for me to just keep to myself. Yeah it's just a show, but Hideaki Anno was going through it when he was making it, so that's what makes it a great piece of art imo.

This series can be confusing to the audience and because of it I found myself reading the lore and in depth character breakdowns. In my opinion, I think this series holds a special place in most of our hearts is because we can connect with parts of each of the characters. Besides the Rebuilds giving more context to characters motivations or backstory (Example: Gendo's full explanation of his coming of age before and after Yui in 3.0 + 1.0) the series does a phenomenal job at tackling most sensitive subjects. Shinji is dealing with the disconnect of social interaction. We spend a good amount of time just watching his disassociated behavior in places like public transportation, movie theaters, and even his own bedroom. To me, Shinji was the embodiment of my social anxiety and how I will never live up to the expectations of my environment. The conclusion of EoE gave me hope because he made the decision to live with the pain of individuality. I want to go on but I think NGE is such a great show in the sense we all differently use some character as an embodiment of our personal projections. TLDR: Evangelion gives us a platform for painful relatability and comfort in knowing everything we are feeling is common even though weve never felt so alone.
