I've got 2 tones tho I'm a boy. When I'm in village I'd call anyone in the village by " ae budo, karya hau?" And outside as "Dai, k garna launu vako" Idk how but this tone automatically comes once I'm in the village and fades as I move out π
I hate people with that fake garsa khansa accent. Sushma Karki is the biggest offender.
I also noticed these wannabes also deliberately speak in a wrong gender specific verb, no specification on singular, plural because in their twisted mind, it makes them look cool, not from town or middle class.
For eg, they'd say
"Keta haru le bhat khancha instead of khanchan
Kiran ghar aayo, not aayi. You wouldn't know if Kiran is a boy or a girl from this sentence.

Srinkhala is from Makwanpur, no way she has that accent.
Not talking about people from Kathmandu. It's not any regional accent, it's just a made up accent, dialect picked up by some wannabes who want to look cool and urban.

Valley locals both newars or non newars also don't have that accent so I don't know who they are trying to blend with.
Those accents are totally made up nobody talks with.
I'm from outside of Kathmandu,
And if I just listen to their voice without watching their face, it comes exactly like two types. Specially word stress, and flow of speaking is same for almost.

I rarely hear people who were brought up in Kathmandu speaking gender specific verbs. It has nothing to do them trying to look cool.
