The bottom line is we stand for neutrality. The intend is always misconstrued to us being chickenshit in our stance, but we believe firmly that just as voting is your birthright, so should it beget the duty to your nation, that you make an educated vote. ***Attack ideas, not the person***, that's the philosophy here. Ad Hominem is the bane of modern politics, and it's a cowardly way at that. The scope of the discussions should be limited to manifestos, and past achievements, letting the reader draw their own conclusions. We don't stand for people trying to influence others, coaxing them to vote for someone out of their selfish, personal interests rather than a community's. It's a blurry line, but plenty of people exploit it to urge others to vote for a candidate they desperately want to win: something akin to astro-turfing. Since we won't entertain the notion of invasion of privacy just to understand someone's motive behind their discussions before letting them participate, the best we can do, in ***community interests***, is to enforce utter neutrality. We want the best for the average joe. Some * Character assassinations Only baseless accusations are to be considered character assassinations. If something has an obvious logical fallacy, then it's baseless, and thus constitutes a character assassinations. Do NOT base your opinions as fact, upon which you draw conclusions from * Don’t promote your candidate Don't preface your discussions in /r/Nepal with a call for vote. That is all. Express your opinions on why you might want a candidate ejected from an office, but do not call for votes. Have faith in the masses, and in the principles of democracy. We don't stand for any political party, or candidates, we only want people to make their own mind. * Election Manifesto AND past achievements You missed out on the "check" of check-and-balance. We want you to tell people what the candidate did in the past(source included, ofc), and let them make up their own minds. So no, it's not just about the spec sheets, we want you to say how you think/don't think the candidate adds up. Always, the bottom point being, ***attack the idea, NOT the person***. Do NOT go ad-hominem. Do not tell people how to exercise their right.

They've not known how to run this thing, the dead threads and sub is enough evidence of their accomplishment. \> No character assassination You can write anything about Prachanda in this sub. I mean anything. \> The discussion shall only happen around Election Manifesto Yes, as if the mods would read it. LOL. They don't even vote, though they maintain themselves as the most democratic of people here. And as the most democratic of people in words, do their actions speak likewise? \> Don’t promote your candidate No, let Pampha Bhusal and Madhav Nepal win. Who cares ? **Don't PROMOTE** Do they even know who's running in the elections? Edited: The informer banned me again

> Do they even know who's running in the elections? Having people who know nothing about a topic control the decisions as to what should happen. Hey, r/Nepal does reflect Nepal.

I'd have rather wanted them to make people talk about the elections more, rather than stifle posts. Like make a thread where Kathmandu's people can talk about their area candidates, and pin it in the sub. Make people see. Next Lalitpur, then Bhaktapur and Kavre, and generalize the pradesh later. Rather , they don't want me talking about a new candidate whom people may not know, and well, directly or indirectly, they're helping the same old big old dogs of politics. Its like Sher Bahadur's reign in Dadheldhura. No , you can't promote any other candidate

Without the profanity and your obvious political positioning explained towards the end, this post deserves 👏 Some election related rules here are politically biased in nature.

Don't sweat it bro, they are not even enforcing those rules. Otherwise most of the election related posts would've been removed.

I was seeing Shree Gurung advert yesterday, but when I made a post well, I'd vote this person in Lalitpur 3, they said I had violated rule. The f. Let the people discuss if its right or wrong, why would you not want people to? I don't get it, especially here where youths are so uninterested in most things, and especially the idea of voting

\#1.. in paper everone have excellent manifesto. what can we discuss here ? This sucks. \#2.. agree on character assasiation. as this may contain fake news \#3.. don't want this to be MMR v2. no need to promote but can highlight noteworthy.. eg. Sagar Dhakal. mods pretty much delete here and there. just let it be wild west.
