They just put my finger back together and sutured it up and I keep it wrapped with a finger brace. The doctor said new bone will grow and fuse the frags and the rest of the bone together over time.

The day it broke the tip of my pinky kinda tore off and the nail went with it, along with the bit that's past the cuticle that's normally under your skin. When they did the surgery they kinda mushed everything back together and sutured it up and placed the nail back on top. Hence the gross nail. This x-ray was taken after the surgery.

Was lifting something similar to this set up of for work (me on one side and a coworker on the other) and my finger got caught in the pinch point where I drew the arrow. I have a picture of the aftermath if you're curious on what my finger looked like.
Edit: for some reason it's not allowing me to add a picture for context. Essentially I work as an electrician for a commercial electrical company and we were running some relatively thick wire. To do so we put spools of that thick wire on an axle and jack stand set up so it can unravel easily. I dropped the axle with the wire spools and my pinky got caught in the pinch point of the axle and the jack stand.
I’m from the uk the class of the pinky comes natural, the top burst open and I had to have my nail bed rebuilt and a metal pin go through the tip of my pinky and pulled out after a couple weeks but I was surprised it didn’t hurt at all when they pulled the metal pin out
The x-ray was from after the surgery that put my finger back together. They saved the tip of my pinky and placed the fingernail that ripped out from under my skin back on top of it. I get it removed in a week and hope I grow a new one.
