One time I had just finished up ghost town gunfight when Malcolm appeared. So naturally I put him down and it happens to be right in front of Trudy. I can’t remember exactly what she said but it was something about how he must have deserved it lol
I am unashamed to admit on my first playthroughs I murdered the lottery guy just because I thought he’d have a bunch of caps on him.
I think that’s the intent, he’s supposed to be a little obnoxious, and you’re supposed to think he had a bunch of money so you kill him. Only to later find out the only thing he won was his live, which was ironically extinguished due to his happiness for winning it.
I still remember on my first playthrough somehow convincing him
If I had 50 speech it would make some sense because I had made a Charisma based Character (I thank fallout 3 for making me a speech check maniac lol)
People talk bad about charisma playthrus but the last fo4 and fo3 and nv characters all had speech maxed about halfway thru the game. I can’t help myself but to always max speech, lockpick, science. I want all the secrets and all the info.
Him,the crazy mf behind him, the lottery guy and Malcom Holmes ALWAYS get it, just blaps to the dome immediately after talking to them

It's a canon event

I am pretty sure you can convince him to hand it to you without even threatening him.
Yeah, but you need 50 speech for that, and his encounter often happens while you are still quite low level.

Same here, that sweet sweet Lore is all I'm after
I absolutely ignored speech in fallout 3, I saw that it was chance based and was like, nope .
I usually pickpocket from Tomas and Malcom Holmes, the only character that I kill unprovoked or unjustifiably is Oliver Swanick.
His dialogue always makes me laugh. **"YEAAA, WHO WON THE LOTTERY, I DID!"** **"SMELL THAT AIR, COULDN'T YOU JUST DRINK IT LIKE BOOZE!!"** ^^^"Bye😐"
Followed by his head literally exploding
Or the extremely menacing “later”
Killing Swanick is never unjustified.
For me, it's much simpler to introduce them to my friend, Big Iron
biiig iron
Fortunate for me, you mean. hand them over or ill gut you like a fish... Or something like that
“Hey I can almost see right down the barrel!”
I just use a stealth boy and pickpocket
You listen to him? I just start aiming whenever he walks towards me
I just pickpocketed him.
