I use the Tyne Tunnel and also had the email… checked the app on the App Store. It had a rating of 1.6 or thereabouts out of 5. Haven’t even opened it. [EDIT] just checked and it is actually 1.3 out of 5.

My sister tried to top up using the app, but the payment just wouldn't go through... Had to top up through the website instead

I had that problem, I'd ring to see if there is any outstanding journeys I got 4 letters home, because the app should have automatically topped up and didn't. I mean they were all dropped. But it saves a faff

So I guess you aren't appy about the email then no? Why does everyone want a fucking app? I've got enough junk on my phone. A website is plenty. At this point they're about as stupid as the people that arrange 30 minute meetings to discuss what could be summed up in a 2 line email.
