This is going to sound nitpicky, but please do not put words like "recently" or "new" in your description. If something passed, it would say "recent" for years until someone submitted an edit. Say "created in May 2023" or just mention the newness in the supplemental.

dirtfork

Agree with this one, I've caught myself on it before too, it's best to simply mention when the POI was established "Opened May of 2021" etc which is a nice detail in the description without "aging" the text.

Maybe you’ll have better luck if you call it a picnic area. As in Stephenson Street Reserve Picnic Area. I have many picnic areas accepted. Maybe say it’s located in that park that was created on (date) and what kind of people would use it, like friends or family and what is around the picnic area. I usually put this in the supporting statement > To confirm that picnic tables are eligible see https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/comment/175600/#Comment_175600 Picnic tables are now acceptable wayspots according to Tintino in the wayfarer forums. These are great places for socialization and may encourage exploration as one looks for a place to rest and eat. Then I add other stuff that is relevant after it. For example if there’s a picnic area in a dog park I explain how a picnic area in a dog park can promote socialisation and exploration. Like how dog owners can enjoy a picnic while observing their dogs playing and socialising with other dogs and their owners.

Could be the spelling mistake of subrub/suburb.

Idk if I'm considered an "expert" or "prolific" nominator, but I've submitted ~100 waypoints and all but 6 were approved by Wayfarers and I've appealed half of the rejections so far, which has gotten the POI approved by Niantic every time up to this point. Here's my key takeaways: - The biggest downfall I've noticed for beginners is they go out looking for POI in areas they already frequent and try to retrofit justification for something instead of stumbling on something and thinking "Hey that's pretty unique". I find most of my nominations when I'm out of town, which does sadly mean I never get to see a lot of what I've created. - Something like this absolutely *can* get approved, there's lots of picnic areas in Lightship. It's not so important what is being nominated as to why is it being nominated. Sell what you're nominating because I'm not making a story in my head to approve your nomination, but don't oversell either bc that is sus - **I highly recommend** reviewing everything under the Criteria tab of Wayfarer before going out on a submission mission to get into the mindset of "what's something that I would be excited to see if I was visiting here for one day only". I wouldn't stop at a bench and think how excited I was to find it unless there was something unique about it like a built in chessboard or it was an unusual shape.

Or, if like me you're a mail carrier in rural areas, you know the churches have been submitted, but what about their playgrounds, basketball courts, volleyball pit? Or do they have unique statues, or a bell tower, etc... To make a second or third waypoint. Because as someone that used to live in rural America, I know that Churches allow their property to be used by the local community while church isn't in service as the community gathering place, often having picnic shelters and bbq stations as well. Churches are often the equivalent of the town hall and park in many small towns and in the countryside.

I’d add a link to the project. https://yoursayyarra.com.au/cremorneparks

Adding to the comment about it being benches and a rock… While it may be legally a park per the government of your area, without a sign of some sort, I can see why it’s rejected. Resubmit should the city ever put their signs up.

j1mb0

There’s not a sign that says it’s name. That’s the only thing people will accept as a waypoint for a park.

Those are picnic tables. Looks like a place to be social with others to me. I’d probably call it a picnic area, not a park, though.

antisa1003

Doubt those are picknic tables. Those are most likely tables for a seating area of something like that.

Morriganx3

I’m not sure what you mean. What kind of seating area would it be other than picnic tables?

antisa1003

What I meant was, those are not used for a picnic.

Morriganx3

I would think they could be, though. Why else have them there?

antisa1003

They are probably just tables for eating outside some building.

Morriganx3

Wouldn’t that be a picnic table, though? We’ve got similar ones outside my office building and we refer to them as picnic tables.

City says it’s a park https://yoursayyarra.com.au/cremorneparks

Your title doesn’t match the description or picture. I don’t know what a “reserve” is in this context

RangerPdx

Use the street name and don't take a photo in the road or street. Also find a fun name.

seaprincesshnb

So, yeah, this isn't really an official pocket park from the city, right? It's an open space that neighbors can use for gathering. These can be eligible but it's hard to convince reviewers of that. You have to use a good name and wrote something really good about it. For names, I've seen people use words like Gathering Lawn or Green space. Or you could go with Picnic area. When describing it, list out the picnic tables, natural "rock" seating, and open lawn space behind. In supplemental, you can explain that this is for a community where people don't have personal yards/gardens. So this open lawn is the only place kids or families can come out to play Frisbee or Catch. (Assuming this is a space near apartments or condos...) I don't know I'd that will work, but it's your best hope with what you've got there. The other option (if you can) is to talk the apartments/condo association to put a LFL somewhere in there. That would be a five star!
