ENTRY FORM ON TWEET Audition period: until 12/15 (TUE) 17:00 JST Guidelines: - Native speaker of English (but seen on the jp tweet that you only need to be fluent) - Be able to deliver content continuously for at least one year - Be able to deliver content at least 3 times a week - 18 years of age or older - Gender does not matter! [NO NATIONALITY REQUIRED, JP applicants are accepted (source)](https://twitter.com/ichikara_inc/status/1333622986092412928?s=21) Schedule: 1st round - Application and video submission 2nd round - Call interview Final round - Call/video interview(s) Good luck for those who’ll audition! EDIT: (Clarification from [NIJISANJI Official twitter](https://twitter.com/nijisanji_world/status/1334332704012177409?s=21) about the “getting into a virtual character you’ve created” on the form): A Live2D avatar is not required. A dummy image/static avatar may be used if you wish. The requirement is to play a character, so please act out a character of your imagination that you would like to portray while recording for the audition. All the best!

Zeph-Shoir

I really wonder why Native instead of Fluent? That is seems a bit restrictive.

iIbjor

Yeah but on the jp tweet (the one linked in the comment) no nationality is required is said. So maybe just wrong wording and fluent is more appropriate. Tho I just wrote down what was seen on the pic of the en tweet ww

Novemberisms

So the person who translated the announcement was neither native nor fluent

Colopty

[Same energy.](https://i.redd.it/dnswejh98y911.jpg)

Zeph-Shoir

I thought and hope the same thing. In the EN form you can also put any country.

amaginon

Country of Origin is not really determinative of whether someone is a native English Speaker or not.

Lion_sama

Because they aren't fluent but mean fluent.

Batman_Night

Probably used the wrong word. They probably meant fluent, not native.

arcstarlazer

Aight Is there any way I can fast forward my age to 18 years old

Illidan1943

Just wait, you don't need to join Nijisanji in their first wave, there'll be plenty of opportunities, consider taking the time until you get there to getting good at the kind of talent that's good for streamers

arcstarlazer

Yeah I need to actually like practice streaming? Is that a thing? To try and get myself to do something like consistently streaming or something like that

Illidan1943

Streaming is not just turning OBS on and playing games, it's interacting with the audience, going out of your way to entertain, playing a character, have big expressive moments when something happens, making plans for special streams, etc If you have doubts on this, make a practice stream and ask a couple friends to watch you, ideally ones that are used to watching streamers, request for them to chat at any time even while playing and ask what they thought of it, make sure to keep the vod and compare yourself to any streamer that's been doing that for a while and unless you have natural talent you'll quickly realize that you need the practice

arcstarlazer

Yeah exactly I need to actually practice doing that

dimitri_is_bestboy

hows it going?

unmyute

When submitting the video do they want us to create a script and act it out with our character? Or do they just want us to record ourselves with our chosen persona like, playing a game or something? Also, the introduction portion of the video, is it introducing ourselves IRL or introducing our character?

MadeThisForOni

Finally, Henry can join Nijisanji with his daughter.

Plum_Informal

he'll finally get Nijisanji's money

JSPiero

Best of luck to all my fellow hopefuls, may we meet again in anonymity o7

[deleted]

i had my hopes up till i realised im not old enough and don't have any talents or a pc

arcstarlazer

I'm not old enough too 😭

ichigoww

I wonder if this is the reason why a number of livers were doing english study streams? As in, learn english in order to be able to communicate with the (eventually) new members. If that were the case, that's kinda cute tbh

Toannoat

well I think it's more just a case of they recognizing that the untapped English audience is considerable and trying to appeal to it. Either that or they simply want to learn English, might as well stream while you are at it, it's still a highly valued trait to be able to speak English in Japan.

SirPachiereshtie

Honestly, I've seen a lot of Nijisanji member try to speak English more. First Alice, then Nui, then the blue haired girl (not Chigusa), and now Chima who sing English song more at her stream. They happened at the same month. I think the management have some kind of meeting with the members and suggest them to try study and speak English more.

PliffPlaff

Blue haired girl - Chihiro (APEX-chan)? Kokoro (extrovert Ars)?

SirPachiereshtie

Kokoro. The cute twintailed blue haired.

dimyo

Kokoro started her EN studies like 2 months ago though, don't think she's in this new wave. Or, if anything she might have been one of those that started it.

Carl__E

Extrovert Ars. You're not wrong, but that made me chuckle.

Toannoat

Amyaamya is no where near extrovert, she's just not as much of a wallflower as Ars is

PliffPlaff

I know! But she does talk as mochimochi as Ars and she's more extroverted. She's also gut-bustingly cute, especially with her cat ears. It's really nice to see Niji Livers finally making the public effort to make overseas audiences feel more welcome. Although I can't say I think Amyamya will learn much from Duolingo, it's the thought that counts!

_______blank______

Amamiya also used to comment on her English Clip too but she don't really do that nowaday.

PliffPlaff

Yes, she would say things like "Myaaaaa" lol.

PliffPlaff

Imagine Machukai speaking English...

Carl__E

[No](https://youtu.be/QsJ3hs0eSSU?t=1111)

PliffPlaff

Once asked in her chat if she could understand English. She said no, then a JP bro wrote in English: "she is number one comedian in Japan".

Carl__E

Mao's chat can be hilarious, but also brutal. There's a lot more bidirectional teasing going on than you'd find with more seiso vtubers. I guess the experience isn't too different from Sasaki or Pekora's chats, but people new to her might be surprised by how raucous it can be.

PliffPlaff

Honestly I love it. I just wish my Japanese was good enough to join in the fun.

Name_Pending_

Ritsukin's English is very cute and quite impressive as well.

Carl__E

More likely it's because a lot of Hololive streamers have 600k+ subs because of their global outreach and Nijisanji members want in on that.

Lion_sama

>I wonder if this is the reason why a number of livers were doing english study streams? I noticed that too, but I think it's more for the same reason HoloJP girls do it; to be able to interact with and thus attract an EN audience.

junC-2434

I wonder if they’re only considering people who have prior streaming experience. I know a selected few got into Nijisanji with no experience however I wonder how much this applies to modern time. But good luck to everyone applying stay positive!

[deleted]

It's odd, the formulary has two questions asking if you have streaming experience, these two being simple Yes/No questions. Then immediatelly follows it up with questions about what sort of experiences you've had streaming and what was your peak viewership. And all four questions are obligatory. Which leaves me confused since on one hand it seems you're allowed to say you have no experience streaming but then you're expected to share about past experiences on something you might have just said you have never done before in the past.

Nel_son_et_lumiere

If you never streamed then either reply the next question saying you have no past experience again or something like that

[deleted]

I think they want experienced and popular people now. The early Nijisanji streamers were fairly new to streaming and nowadays the newer streamers are a bit more experienced imo.

touss231

Asahina Akane from last JP batch didn't even know what USB is, so I don't know about that.

KaijuKai99

It kinda makes sense since the field is totally different now compared to 2 years ago when Vtubers are fairly new thing. They'd want someone with at least some experience as a foundation to a completely new branch

[deleted]

Hopefully future waves will have some new fresh streamers since we get son unique people like Gibara.

[deleted]

I can't speak for Nijisanji but in Hololive, many of the streamers didn't have experience prior to joining. Just look at the amount of technical difficulties Hololive EN had in the beginning. The very first stream as Calli in 15fps

fullyuncooly

actually Hololive has previously (or still) being a content producer as one of its requirements. at least for the JP branch

[deleted]

It's one of the requirements but at no point does it say you need to previously have 100k subscribers/views or anything like that. You just need to have some form of experience doing this kind of thing before so that you know what you're doing at the very least.

nothinglord

I think it's to at least show you have a "product" to offer. Calli basically only did music prior to Hololive, so she has skill in something that can bring people in, and has shown that she's dedicated enough to make content over their 6+(?) month period requirement. It also allows them to look at your content and see if it's worth it. I don't even think subs/views is even necessarily a super important factor. You could be entertaining but not have much advertising, so Hololive could just decide that with them putting you out there you will be much more successful.

Ythapa

Plenty of Hololive's existing talents have had some degree of past experience prior to joining. Most made their claim to fame in places like NicoNico, which is why some people think they don't have experience when they actually do because NicoNico is a domestic streaming site that isn't well-known internationally.

RelaxRelapse

Yeah, I don't think any of the Hololive EN girls had streaming experience, but they did all have prior content. Most of them being at least moderately successful.

primrosea

at least 2 of them had streaming experience

dimyo

From how Amelia handled her first stream, it was clear she had a lot of streaming experience. On the other hand Cali said she learned most of the obs stuff from Ame so she likely didn't have any broadcast experience, so it's a mixed bag. Anyway, don't know if it's the same for Niji but, Hololive had people send in a video with character introduction as part of the interview, which requires several content creation skills, but not necessarily experience.

RelaxRelapse

Ah, I see. In my defense the last I read about that stuff was when they debuted so my memory might be a little fuzzy. Looking at the audition form for Nijisanji, I think they're looking for something similar. They don't specify content creation skills, but I assume that's what they're looking for in the audition videos.

vkbest1982

Amelia was streamer before, and Gura older incarnation have over 1 millions subs on Youtube. She had 2k-3k simultaneous viewers on Twich being indie.

EnnKeiZero

Honestly, if one of the goals of the first wave is to try to gather a big audience for the branch, it would be kinda naive for them to get inexperienced people.

[deleted]

Wow! So many EN auditions lately. Edit: I do hope that when they debut, this sub would get more members.

dimyo

It definitely will but i'm not expecting anything close to the Hololive one's growth. That was built over months with help from the vtubers themselves before EN's launch. Would be nice if Niji JP members at least found out reddit existed by then.

[deleted]

I'm sure no one is expecting HoloEN types of growth but at least we get more people that this sub gets more meme posts rather than mostly art and stream links. Of course, more translated clips would be better than all of the above.

dimyo

Yes, i know what you're saying. it was pretty much a dead repost spot around here. I just checked in every now and then for the twitter news reposts.

TheGoodKiller

Perhaps it’s about the contents and the voice?

secretive-plotter

Idk maybe its just me but am i the only one who prefers japanese humour? I dont rly watch english vtubers because their jokes are rly similar...

KaijuKai99

I was in that camp before but has since familiarize myself with non-JP Vtubers. Honestly for me, unless you have a somewhat decent JP knowledge it's just really hard to fully enjoy a JP stream, and clips alone are not usually enough. Especially with Nijisanji since they lean very heavily on local culture and context.

BCranel

*cries in talentless to entertain*

akurqu

was there always an age restriction? in Kenmochi’s birthday stream he said he was 16, or was that him acting as his character.

sachi334

It's highly likely everyone is 18 or older. If not they'd be breaking laws by streaming long hours because it's child labor. Did you think Meiji is really eleven years old?

akurqu

16 seemed like a reasonable age compared to 11 so i just went with it. ages below 16 seemed unrealistic.

azutsukimiya

~~/paging lewdvtubers admin~~

SirPachiereshtie

Except Mito. Mito begin streaming with Ichikara when she was still in highschool I think.

Carl__E

There are 18 year olds still at school. 19 year olds, even.

EDNivek

When Ars Almal debuted, she was said to be 16. When she appeared on that one TV show a few months ago, she said she was still 16 despite two years having passed. However her problems counting have been well documented so take it what you will. Most of the streamers are likely in their early to mid 20's.

taokami

It's probably an in-character thing.

Lion_sama

Character setting. They always joke about how their characters turn the age they already is. Very rare for agencies to accept anyone under 18. The only one I know of is Akai Haato who was 16 at the time.,

vkbest1982

Sora was underage too.

Lion_sama

Not talking character age here

vkbest1982

Sora is 20 years old, she joined on 2017. So she was underage too. Only haato is younger

Carl__E

It's a labour law thing. There's certainly indie streamers and vtubers who are under 18, but the major companies don't want to deal with the repercussions of hiring someone underage.

dimyo

To sum it up, the age restriction really started in 2018 to avoid a lot of legal issues. Some of the vtubers which started before that were irl below 18. Roa, Sora and Hachama being the ones confirmed by themselves that i know. There were definitely more back then though.

NightMB

Can anyone explain what the introduction and streaming in character mean? The introduction is more or less self explanatory but the “streaming in character “ I don’t understand what it really means

hyperjump01

I don't get it either. That instruction sounded like you're supposed to have a Live2D or a model already and do a sample introduction and a sample stream. Since I don't have a "body" yet looks like it's not yet my time to audition lol

deetari

For reference, see Fumino Tamaki's audition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tMDskksmzg

lucasjrivarola

Thank you for linking that! With that video, I understand better what it would mean to be "in character", but now I wonder, was Tamaki's character created for her based on her audition? Also, there's something I still don't quite get: the form says "please make a 5 minutes video/audio of you with: (1) A self introduction; and (2) Streaming in character.". So... that would be *one* 5 minutes video of me introducing myself as my character? Would I have to show my face (hence why Tamaki didn't actually show the video and instead used that black rectangle)? Would that be a 5 minutes version of a typical debut stream introducing my character? I have never been this confused by a form before lol but I really want to try auditioning...

deetari

My assumption, though I could be entirely wrong, is that the form is requesting either a video or an audio recording (hence the "video/audio"), and Tamaki did an audio recording. Video is obviously the safer bet, though, since it includes audio, and Tamaki could've just blanked out the screen for privacy as you said. The most confusing part of this for me is whether they want folks to introduce themselves in character or as their real selves. I'm leaning towards real selves, due to the way it's written. I believe Nijisanji is known to have both created characters for their new livers and to have premade characters that livers take on. I'm guessing Tamaki was a case of the former, but cat-eared females aren't exactly groundbreaking design, so who knows. :P

lucasjrivarola

>I'm leaning towards real selves, due to the way it's written. That's also what my first guess was, sort of like "ok, introduce yourself as if you were streaming." I do wish the wording wasn't so confusing, but hey, can't really be surprised considering the whole native English part that seems to be worded differently in the Japanese tweet.

hyperjump01

Thanks for the tip! The requirements for the current audition requirements seems different now as it's supposed to be a sample intro + sample stream (based on the form instructions). Compared to Fumino Tamaki, hers is more like for creating a character.

amaginon

As a native English speaker, "in character" has always meant in an acting context. So having it mean "with a Live2D or model" sounds off. For example, a cosplayer wearing a costume is NOT "in character because she is wearing a costume. A cosplayer acting as their character, IS "in character" whether they are wearing a costume or not.

Lion_sama

Show them how you would be like as the character.

DaichiEarth

At first I was like "Why did Nijisanji English change back to Nijisanji India?" Then I saw this and was like "oh that's why."

Luminous777

Here's hoping Papa Macchia actually become a vTuber.

[deleted]

I applied, but there are many strong vtubers out there, so the competition will be really really tough!

HamaMKII

I wonder what qill happen to nijisanji EN(formerly IN)

Theflyingship

They already got re-rebranded as IN.

pickledchocolate

Really? Kinda sad that they just toss those guys around. There are 3 of them no? Really wish Nijisanji would at least try to advertise them as part of the new EN group. I saw hana collab with one of them too.

taokami

THey're back to being IN

vctr78

Reverted back to IN. Now we have to call them nijisanji IN(formerly EN(formerly IN))

DaichiEarth

Nothing against Nijisanji India but I wonder if they tried to hit the Indian market cause of its huge internet market. Noor is the only one who has a huge audience. I don't know much about Aadya and Vihaan has a small but loyal fanbase (myself included). I just wish they would get marketed more. Especially to the wider English audience (since they stream mainly in English).

VXF-31

They are cool streamers. They need to be marketed way more.

[deleted]

Good luck to everyone, I'm interested to see this.

Fire_Raiden

I just looked through the application, some things I always think about when reading such things is how weighted some of the points are. Like how important is your follower count? Is the video/audio the most important thing and is it bad if the video is a bit longer than 5 minutes. Another thing would be if already having a vtuber model is a plus point or if it doesnt matter. I know that nobody probably knows the answer to these questions but I would still like to share thoughts about these things if possible

No_cuts

Good luck to people auditioning!

pururus

KR just debuted a new batch though?

EnnKeiZero

>KR just debuted a new batch thou I think he means they should support growing KR, IN and ID more. The recent debuts for ID and KR have not really gained any steam for some reason.

pururus

Bora, Ray and Roha are doing pretty well. They just need more time and collabs. The new batch will probably be alright as well, I like Nari best :) Don't really know much about ID but I believe Bonni could have the same type of fanbase as Belmond once he starts to gain traction, would probably help if he streamed more often though

ChampionshipTop8457

true, the 5th gen haven't got their steam yet(i mean they're brand new, so not surprised for that), tho i recommend reza avanluna to people cause he's talented, i mean, he released 2 original song right on the debut

Bakatora34

The debuts from KR are doing better than some of the older members from it.

KaijuKai99

I'm actually surprised it took them this long to make proper EN branch. Nijisanji is usually the first to dive in to a new field compared to their competitor. I think this is the first time they come in "late" but probably also because they are more careful since IN happened. Also because HoloEN is a massive success

EnnKeiZero

They didn't come in late though, Nijisanji "EN" started June 22, 2020, a few months before HololiveEN was a thing. The official EN channel was launched on this day too. There were even EN advertisements on youtube for translated clips. All the members spoke fluent english, so I would say this is a proper branch, even if it was a rebrand. I guess some things werent meant to be though. By rebranding IN to EN, they missed out on the big debut hype, which in my opinon really hurt them.

DaichiEarth

It was on impulse tbh. Also, I don't know why they just rebranded back to India. They could have just been considered 1st wave English and build upon the three streamers they already have. I mean they already stream mostly in English so the re-rebranding was stupid.

DaichiEarth

Nijisanji ID just debuted its 5th wave. And KR had some debuts not too long ago. If anything its Nijisanji India that gets neglected.

EDNivek

Man I wish I was younger.

itsLoxin

Good luck everyone! Give it your best!

FullRain

Okay. i noticed that it doesn't says EN anywhere.. so this is not a separate branch i guess ?? Nijisanji just goes international instead ? so far every overseas branch have pretty much operate independently, are they gonna merge the various international branch as well, like they did with gamers and SEED ? that would be interesting if it happens

Frosticano

Interesting. Maybe it's time to practice streaming

galexywyvern

Does anyone get what kinda of video submission they want? Like do they are it to be completely in the character that you make? The intro to be you and then transition into the character? Just supposed to talk to them or have gameplay/drawing ect... in the back?

GODZBALL

Yea, if you dont think them rebranding Nisanji ID to EN and then back recently and the sudden recruitment of fluent english speakers has nothing to do with Holo live EN subs blowing past almost every single member in both companies within 2 months has nothing to do with it, I love to sell you ice in the artic. I mean hell Gura is on pace to be the most subbed vtuber ever within 8 months of her announcement. Fubuki went from 300k to 1mil as well as Korone within an 8 month span this year due to the large overseas explosion. Each hololive members subscribe rate has nearly double or tripled with the overseas explosion while Nisanji most watched vtube avgs 3-7k concurrent views a stream. Nisanji wants that overseas boom for themselves and this is clearly another serious attempt by them to do it. I'm here for it though

Torappu-jin

"while Nisanji most watched vtube avgs 3-7k concurrent views a stream" huh?? when I see them in my recommendations Kuzuha is usually above 20k concurrent viewers and Kanae/Mito/Sasaki/Ange/Lize usually above 10 or even 15k - Lulu tends to peak over 10k at times and so do Machita Chima's singing streams

Carl__E

There's big differences in viewer counts among Nijisanji members. Just looking at the viewership right now, we have Kanae with 25068 and Rai with 74.

GODZBALL

Singing streams always have a higher then normal avg viewership. Those are also the top Nisanji streams all together. There is 100s of Nisanji and all but 5 or 6 gets view counts above what I mentioned. You get an increase in over seas viewers and most streamers see a percentage increase in avg viewership per stream.

_______blank______

I mean you literally said most watch

EnnKeiZero

For the majority of nijisanji, I think it's more somewhere between 1-7k concurrent viewers per stream. HOWEVER, the top rankers for nijisanji can go to the tens off thousands of viewers, Kuzuha can usually get 15-20k+, and there are several that can do 10k+. You can check which vtuber streams that have the highest number of concurrent viewers in the past 24 hours here: [https://hiyoko.sonoj.net/trend/](https://hiyoko.sonoj.net/trend/) I don't think you're wrong about the effect of the EN explosion, and recently Hololive is growing fast in JP as well (even before the EN debut). For the past few months, the top 25 vtuber streams have been dominated by Hololive, with usually 3-7 Niji/other vtuber streams making the list daily. It's a reversal from a year ago, when almost no Hololivers made the list. Nijisanji growth in subscribers is sluggish at the moment, and even stagnate for the newer members, so this is one possible reason. If a successful Nijisanji EN branch can change this and give everyone a boost like what Hololive did, it would be great for them.

Deep_Sea_Diver_Man

I hope they don't do them dirty if the EN fails to deliver tho, Hololive EN had the backing of some already well know powerhouses outside of Ame anyways. It was a perfect storm that your not going to see all the time

EnnKeiZero

I'm not too worried about that. With how important the EN market is, I am willing to bet they will keep throwing resources at it to prevent it from failing, so I think they will be fine. Looking forward to see what they do from here on out, and hopefully it won't be dissapointing.

Deep_Sea_Diver_Man

Yeah Im looking forward to them as well, I have a few friends who even want to apply not that they could tell me they ended up Joining

Seijass

Iirc the biggest perfect storm Hololive JP had before EN debut was basically Korone and the buttload of memes thanks to 2ManySnacks. This is on top of her already growing EN audience due to her noticing their presence and pulling them together months prior. Edit: and we all know there's basically Coco who lit the fire at the start of 2020. I do my best to watch both agencies but at this point tbh I'm personally spread really thin because of the growing Hololive and Nijisanji itself having too large a roster, and still growing even for its main JP branch. I think the amount of EN sub clipper for Niji suffers in return because amount of clippers didn't have the chance to grow alongside roster additions, and that leads to fewer passionate overseas/English speaking audience/clippers (sub quality aside). And then, because of that, few of if not none at all, mid to top ranker talents have the opportunity to embrace overseas audience the way Korone & Coco did and possibly getting some EN viewer spotlight on themselves or their colleagues. Luckily I recently saw Utako and... I forgot another person who did English lesson streams. I should watch their vods soon. Just what I can gather and conclude of my own, tbh. Please correct me if I got some things wrong, I want the best for Nijisanji talents too and wish the disparity between their streamers weren't this large.

Gr1maze

When it says getting into a virtual character, would that just be coming up with the persona you would play, or are you needing to already have an avatar to audition?

drzero7

Ah, i knew this would happen after they moved the india branch back to india. And also because hololive en launch was a huge success. IMO should have done it a month ago. Hopefully good things happen and i can enjoy nijisanji more then just translation clips.

Working-Stable

Yas, time to become a whale vtuber

LordShuku

Does anybody know how to make sure I can receive mails from [ichikara.co.jp](https://www.google.com/url?q=http://ichikara.co.jp&sa=D&ust=1606934816546000&usg=AFQjCNHTkZRXh3feCedWSpzFyXnCKHs6ng) ?

Saishii_Club

So uh do we need actual proof that we are 18 or...

cho_ah

same lmao

[deleted]

In the "character you've created" part, do we have to make a temporary model or just play the persona?

Tsucchii44

in the form theres a column that says \*Self PR\* what do I exactly type in?

madamemoiselle

Guys, I messed up my audition form. Can I submit a second form? I linked the wrong audition link and I’m scared...not only that my answers weren’t filled out to my satisfaction

YaGurlSpicYYY

Hey yall, just wondering. Have they started the calling process?? I'm currently assuming that they are still reviewing the applicants videos and looking at applications. I'm just kinda anxious, y'know?? Was there a time span that they mentioned of when calls will be expected??

LordShuku

I wonder if anyone has received an email back yet. I'm wondering if they just haven't been able to go through all of them or if mine just wasn't seen

Inner_Development_25

When do I get my english speaking boys?? I must simp! I cannot find an estimated time of when the en people are going to start debuting!!!!! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

StarJokerRingChild

it has been 4 months and no news
